26 Year Old From Central Huron Arrested – Details Released

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Central Huron resident with a criminal driving offence following a traffic stop on December 22, 2024, in the Municipality of Central Huron. 

Just after 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 22, 2024, Huron County OPP officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle travelling on Huron Road in Central Huron, near Goderich. Police spoke to the driver and determined that the driver’s ability to operate the motor vehicle was impaired.

The driver was arrested for impaired operation and transported to the Sebringville OPP detachment where they completed a series of tests before an OPP Drug Recognition Expert (DRE)

Connor RANKIN, 26 years of age from Central Huron has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs.

The accused was additionally charged with an offence under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA), and the Cannabis Control Act (CCA).

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on January 20, 2025.
