(LENNOX & ADDINGTON COUNTY, ON) � The Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), has charged a male with multiple weapons charges after a road rage incident.
On April 14, 2024, shortly before 8:00 p.m., L&A County OPP were dispatched to a reported firearms call. The caller was reporting a road rage incident where a male pointed a hand gun at them and fired a shot at their vehicle. Based on the sound the caller believed the firearm to be a BB gun, but could not verify. Police located the suspect vehicle a short time later. The male driver was arrested and a bb gun was seized by police.
As a result of this investigation, OPP has Daniel VANDERWERF, age 56, of Stone Mills, with:
Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
Pointing a firearm
Imitation firearm � use while committing offence
Discharge air gun or pistol with intent
Dangerous driving
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on June 18, 2024.
