Organized Theft Hits Zorra Home: OPP Release Suspect Photos

(ZORRA, ON) – The Oxford Provincial Police (OPP) are seeking the public’s assistance following a report of a distraction theft at the local store, in the Township of Zorra.

On September 15, 2025, at approximately 1:00 p.m., members of the Oxford OPP detachment responded to a report of a theft on Road 74 near 33rd Line, where two subjects attended a residence where they distracted the homeowner.

It was reported that one of the subjects stole a sum of Canadian currency while the other distracted the homeowner. Photos of the subjects are attached. The subjects departed the residence in a black Audi SUV.

The investigation indicates that this incident is part of a broader, ongoing pattern of organized distraction thefts targeting vulnerable individuals across the region. We urge all citizens to remain vigilant in public spaces, especially in crowded areas where distraction thefts are more likely to occur. Please keep your personal belongings secure and always be aware of your surroundings. If you witness any suspicious behavior or believe you may have been a victim of a pickpocketing incident, do not hesitate to report it to contact the Oxford OPP Detachment. Your information could help prevent further crimes and assist in ongoing investigations

The Oxford OPP are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the suspects involved in this incident. Anyone with information, including dash camera or surveillance footage from the area of the Road 74 near 33rd Line in Zorra Township on September 15, 2025, around 1:00 p.m., is asked to contact the Oxford OPP at 1-888-310-1122, reference report number (E251258652). Tori HANSFORD Was Arrested

(ZORRA TOWNSHIP, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford Detachment charged a driver, for impaired driving, as the result of a two-vehicle collision.

On September 10, 2025, at approximately 8:20 p.m., Oxford OPP responded to a two-vehicle collision on the 37th Line in Zorra Township.

No injuries were reported.

As a result of the investigation, Tori HANSFORD a 21-year-old resident of Norfolk County, has been charged with:

  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  • Operation While Impaired
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 plus

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on November 18, 2025.

19 Year Old Facing Drunk Driving Charge

(ZORRA, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford Detachment responded to a single vehicle collision, resulting in one person being charged with impaired driving.

On July 28, 2025, at approximately 10:45 p.m., members of Oxford OPP were dispatched to a collision on Road 68 in Zorra Township.

As a result of the investigation, Alana CEHIC, a 19-year-old resident of Woodstock, has been charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 plus

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on August 26, 2025.

Mary DEFRIAS – Drunk Driving

(ZORRA, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford Detachment responded to a traffic complaint, resulting in one person being charged with impaired driving.

On May 31, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m., members of Oxford OPP were dispatched to a traffic complaint on Road 68 in the Township of Zorra.

As a result of the investigation, Mary DEFRIAS, 46-years-old, of the Town of Ingersoll, has been charged with:

•        Dangerous Operation

•        Operation While Impaired – Alcohol

•        Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 plus

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on June 24, 2025.

Ross HARKES – Impaired Driving

 (ZORRA, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford Detachment responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch, resulting in one person being charged with impaired driving.

On May 30, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m., members of Oxford OPP were dispatched to a report of a vehicle in the ditch, on the 37th Line in the Township of Zorra.

As a result of the investigation, Ross HARKES, 31-years-old, of Putnam, has been charged with:

•        Dangerous Operation

•        Operation While Impaired – Alcohol

•        Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 plus

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on July 15, 2025.

Joseph Newbery – Drunk Driving

(ZORRA, ON) – An individual from the City of London is facing impaired driving related charges after a collision at a business in Thamesford.

On May 16, 2025, at approximately 10:30 p.m., the Oxford Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment were dispatched to a report of a collision in a parking lot, at a business in Thamesford. There were no injuries reported as a result of the collision.

Joseph Newbery, 30-years-old, of the City of London, has been charged with:  

·      Operation while Impaired – Blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on June 24, 2025.

Jonathan Morgan Was Arrested

(ZORRA, ON) – An individual from Thamesford is facing charges stemming from an incident that occurred on Road 68 in the Township of Zorra.

On March 21, 2025, at approximately 10:00 p.m., members of the Oxford Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment were dispatched to Road 68 in the Township of Zorra for a report of a traffic complaint that was occurring between multiple motor vehicles.

Officers attended and located all the vehicles involved.

Jonathan Morgan, 30-years-old, of the Thamesford, has been charged with:  

·      Dangerous Operation

·      Uttering Threats – Cause death or bodily harm

There were no reported injuries because of this incident.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on April 22, 2025.
