Fatal Collision Near Owen Sound

(GREY COUNTY, ON) – Members of the Grey Bruce Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a two-vehicle collision south of Owen Sound that has resulted in a fatality. 

On Monday, November 10, 2025, at approximately 8:30 a.m., Grey Bruce OPP and emergency responders were dispatched to a report of a collision involving a passenger vehicle and a pick-up truck on Grey Road 18, between Inglis Falls Road and Highway 6.

As a result of the collision, one individual, a 35-year-old female from Wiarton was taken to hospital and later pronounced deceased. Four other individuals were taken to hospital as a precaution with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing with assistance from the OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team. Grey Road 18 remains fully closed between Inglis Falls Road and Highway 6.

$300,000 Wiarton Drug Bust

(WIARTON, ON) The Grey-Bruce Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with support from multiple specialized units, concluded a months-long drug trafficking investigation with the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of a substantial quantity of controlled substances and offence-related property.

In July 2025, members of the Grey-Bruce CSCU initiated an investigation into suspected drug trafficking activity in Wiarton, Bruce County. Two individuals were identified as key figures in the distribution of fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine in the region.

Following extensive surveillance and intelligence gathering, officers obtained a CDSA search warrant for a residence on Frank Street in Wiarton.

On the morning of Thursday, October 9, 2025, the Grey-Bruce CSCU, with assistance from Huron-Perth CSCU, Wellington CSCU, Central Region Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), and Canine Services, executed the warrant. One accused was located inside the residence and arrested without incident.

On October 10, 2025, a second individual was arrested in connection with the same investigation.

As a result of the search, officers seized:

  • A significant amount of controlled substances which included suspected fentanyl, suspected cocaine, and suspected methamphetamine, with a potential street value of over $300,000
  • $1,695.00 in Canadian currency
  • Various items of drug processing paraphernalia

The estimated value of the seized offence-related property is approximately $1,800.00.

Pending further investigation of the substances, an updated release will be provided in the near future.

“This investigation represents an outstanding effort by our Community Street Crime Unit and supporting teams,” said Inspector Marla Barfoot of the Grey-Bruce OPP. “The suspected fentanyl seizure is one of the largest ever in Bruce and Grey Counties, and it represents a significant disruption to the illegal drug trade in our region. I’m proud of the teamwork, professionalism, and commitment shown throughout this operation.”

Samuel ELVIRA JUNIOR, 31 years old, from Toronto, was arrested on October 9, 2025, and has been charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) offences:

  • Possession of identity documents (CC)
  • Fail to comply with probation order (CC)
  • Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking (CDSA)
  • Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking (CDSA)
  • Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking (CDSA)

Dawn DUCKER, 58 years old, from Wiarton, was arrested on October 10, 2025, and has been charged with the following Controlled Drugs and Substances Act offences:

  • Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking (CDSA)
  • Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking (CDSA)
  • Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking (CDSA)

Both accused appeared for bail hearings on October 10, 2025, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound.

Dawn DUCKER was held for bail and has since been released on a Form 11 undertaking.

Samuel ELVIRA JUNIOR was held for bail and remains in custody. Their next bail hearing is scheduled for October 30, 2025.

19 Year Old Arrested For Drunk Driving Following Collision

(WIARTON, ON) – A resident of Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation is facing impaired driving-related charges following a single-vehicle collision south of Wiarton.

On August 17, 2025, at approximately 7:22 a.m., members of the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were alerted to a white Ford Fusion travelling southbound on Highway 6 toward Wiarton. The vehicle was reportedly driving erratically, entering oncoming lanes and displaying inconsistent speeds. Officers located the vehicle in a ditch just south of Wiarton.

Dove LEVI, 19-years-old, of Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code Offences:

·      Operation while impaired- (80 plus) CC

·      Operation while impaired- alcohol CC

·      Dangerous operation CC

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on September 11, 2025.
