Drunk Driver Charged In Walkerton – CARTER

(WALKERTON, ON) – On November 9, 2020 at 3:23 p.m., a South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a vehicle along McNab Street in Walkerton. The officer found that the driver had been drinking alcohol.

Ron CARTER, 62-years-old, of Brockton was charged with Impaired Driving and Operate over 80 milligrams. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on December 16, 2020 to answer to the charges.

Fatal Collision

(North Middlesex, ON) Middlesex Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating a single vehicle fatal motor vehicle collision which occurred on Maguire Road near Ausable Drive in North Middlesex, Middlesex County on the 9th of November, 2020 at approximately 10:20pm.

Investigation revealed the pick-up was travelling north on Maguire Rd when it travelled into the west ditch and collided with a tree.

OPP, EMS and Ailsa Craig Fire Services responded to the scene.

The driver and lone occupant of the truck, a 23 year old Lucan Biddulph Township, ON resident, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Release of the name is pending notification of next of kin. Police continue to investigate the cause of the collision.

Maguire Rd. was reopened at approximately 4:30am on November 10th, 2020.

36 Year Old Facing Drunk Driving Charge – MACDONALD

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On November 5, 2020 at 7:52 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a farm tractor lying on its side in the ditch along Kincardine Avenue in Kincardine. Officers attended and found that the driver had been drinking alcohol.

Bradley MACDONALD, 36-years-old, of Huron Township was charged with Operate over 80 milligrams. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on January 6, 2021 to answer to the charge.

There were minor injuries reported at the scene.

Murray DUNSTAN, 42-years-old, of Culross Township was charged with Impaired Driving and Operate over 80 milligrams. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on January 13, 2021 to answer to the charges.

Sleeping In ATM Vestibule Ends With Arrest

(GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – On November 7, 2020 at 7:28 a.m., Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a complaint of a suspicious person loitering on Toronto Street North in the Town of Markdale, in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

OPP patrolled the area and located a person sleeping in the vestibule by an ATM machine in a bank lobby.

The person was bound by release conditions resulting from an unrelated occurrence. This person was found to not be complying with these conditions.

As a result of this investigation, Grey Bruce OPP charged Brooke BEACOCK, 34 years-of-age from Orangeville, ON with failing to comply with Undertaking, section 145(4)(a) Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was released on an Appearance Notice and is required to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on January 28, 2021.

40 Year Old Caught Going 135 in an 80

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – On November 9, 2020 at 12:25 a.m., Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a (grey) pick-up truck on Highway 6, near Centre Diagonal Road in South Bruce Peninsula that was travelling over 135 kilometres per hour (km/h) in this posted 80 km/h speed limit.

Grey Bruce OPP have charged Hetalkumari PANCHAL, 40 years-of-age, from Hanover, ON with stunt driving – 50km/h or more over the posted speed limit, contrary to section 172(1) Highway Traffic Act.

The accused was issued a Provincial Summons to attend court, a seven day drivers licence suspension and their vehicle was towed and will be impounded for seven days.

Drunk Driving Charge Following Collision – BESTWARD

(SOUTHGATE, ON) – On November 7, 2020 at 4:31 p.m., Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a collision, involving two motor vehicles on Artemesia Street North, in the Town of Dundalk, Southgate.

A driver in a (red) pick-up truck struck a (blue) sport utility vehicle. The driver of the pick-up truck showed obvious signs of impairment and was arrested for impaired driving. The driver was transported to the Grey Bruce OPP detachment in Markdale for a breath test.

The results of the breath test were over three times the legal limit of 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

As a result of this investigation, Grey Bruce OPP have charged James BESTWARD, 43 years-of-age, from Southgate, ON with the following offences:

Operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol, section 320.14(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada (CC)

Operation while impaired with blood alcohol concentration 80 mgs or more, section 320.14(1)(b) CC

This driver was issued a 90 day drivers licence suspension and their vehicle was towed and will be impounded for seven days.

The other involved driver was treated at hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is required to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on January 28, 2021.

Suspended Driver Caught Again

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – On November 5, 2020 at 8:47 a.m., Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) that had no licence plates on Gould Street in Wiarton, in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula, ON.

The operator was a suspended driver and there were no licence plates or insurance on this ATV.

As a result of this investigation, Grey Bruce OPP have charged a 40 year old male from South Bruce Peninsula with the following offences:

Driving while under suspension, section 53(1) Highway Traffic Act (HTA)

No number plate showing permit number, Ontario Regulation 316(16)(1) HTA

Motor vehicle not properly insured, Ontario Regulation 316(17) HTA

The accused received a Provincial Summons and the involved ATV was towed from the scene.

WARNING: Evan WOLFE Wanted By Police – Do NOT Approach

(LAMBTON COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Anishinabek Police Service (APS) responded to an incident on November 8, 2020 on Kettle and Stony Point First Nation. One party was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The suspect is still outstanding and believed to be operating a black sedan with tinted windows. The suspect is to be considered armed and dangerous.

If you know the whereabouts of Evan WOLFE, 26 year-old of Kettle and Stony Point First Nation, do not approach. Contact the OPP immediately by dialing 911.

The investigation is ongoing and further updates will be provided as they become available.

25 Year Old Arrested Following Assault In Listowel

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – A Kitchener resident has been charged after an assault in Listowel.

On November 05 2020, just before 4:00 p.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), received a report of an assault occurring at a property on Binning Street West, Listowel, in the Municipality of North Perth. The adult victim received minor injuries as a result of the assault.

The suspect fled the scene immediately after the assault, but was located by officers a short time later on Wallace Avenue North.

As a result, Cody CHAREST-GUINCHO, 25, of Kitchener, has been charged with:

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

WARNING: Fake Cop(s) Pulling People Over

(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers including members from the Huron County OPP Crime Unit are currently investigating a complaint of a male suspect that posed a police officer and conducted a traffic stop last weekend.

Investigators have learned that on October 31, 2020 at approximately 1:30 a.m. a driver was travelling southbound on Lucknow Line between Dungannon and Carlow when the victim was pulled over by a suspect vehicle with blue & red flashing lights.

A male suspect exited and approached the driver and began questioning the victim to the point the victim felt very uncomfortable and quite suspicious of the interaction. The victim remained in her vehicle and proceeded to report the incident to police.

The male suspect is described as being around 5’9

20 Year Old Driver Charged With Impaired Driving – WOODS

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – On October 31, 2020 at approximately 9:30 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Wellington North Fire Services and Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Services responded a two vehicle collision on Highway 6 at Jones Baseline south of Arthur.

Police attended and while speaking with one of the drivers, formed the opinion that they were impaired by drugs. The driver was arrested and transported to a local OPP Detachment for further tests.

The occupants were assessed at the scene and no serious injuries were reported.

James Clayton WOODS, 20-years-old of Waterloo has been charged with Driving while Impaired by Drug contrary to the Criminal Code and Possession of a Controlled Substance-Fentanyl contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph on December 4, 2020.

Arvin James LEONZON – 140 in an 80

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – On November 3, 2020 at approximately 10:30 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic and conducting radar on Wellington Road 109 east of Arthur.

The officer observed a white passenger vehicle travelling at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 140 km/h.

As a result, Arvin James LEONZON, 37-year-old resident of Orangeville, has been charged with Racing a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in Guelph at the Ontario Court of Justice – Provincial Offences Court on April 7, 2021.

Their vehicle and driver’s licence were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

DEATH INVESTIGATION

(NEYAASHIINIGMIING, ON) – On November 2, 2020 at 1:39 p.m., Neyaashiinigmiing Police Service and Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a residence at Nayaushing Road, Neyaashiinigmiing for a person with vital signs absent.

Police Officers attended with Chippewas of Nawash Fire Department and Bruce County Paramedic services and discovered a 30 year old female at the residence who was pronounced dead.

The deceased has been identified as Ericka ASHKEWE-JONES from Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation.

Members of the Neyaashiinigmiing Police Service, Grey Bruce OPP Crime Unit and OPP Forensic Identification Services, under the direction of OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this occurrence. Officers remain on scene at this time.
