23 Year Old Charged After Refusing To Give Blood

(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) – On May 30, 2020 at approximately 1:00 a.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Services responded to a 911 call on Trafalgar Road near Side Road 17 in the Town of Erin.

Police attended the scene and located a pick-up truck with frontend damage. Officers were approached by an intoxicated individual with facial injuries who identified themselves as the driver. Police placed the driver under arrest for impaired driving and they were subsequently transported to hospital by ambulance for treatment of non-life- threatening injuries.

Upon arrival at the hospital the driver was noncompliant with police and refused to comply with the blood demand. Further investigation revealed that the pick-up truck that the accused was operating at the time of the collision had been taken without the owner’s consent.

As a result, Justin James GARDIPY, 23-years-old of Acton has been charged with Failure to Provide or Comply with Demand and Take Motor Vehicle Without Consent contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph on August 4, 2020 to answer to the charges.

19 Year Old Caught Going 147 in an 80

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – On May 29, 2020 at approximately 1:00 a.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic and conducting radar on Wellington Road 109 near Side Road 15. The officer observed an eastbound black sport utility vehicle travelling at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 147 km/h.

Hannah Jane BAUER, 19-years-old of North Perth Township has been charged with Racing a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in Guelph at the Ontario Court of Justice – Provincial Offences Court on August 19, 2020. The vehicle and driver’s licence were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

$33,000 Trailer Stolen

(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) – On May 30, 2020 at approximately 9:00 a.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a theft from a business on Shamrock Road in the Town of Erin. The complainant advised that a 2020 RV trailer was stolen sometime overnight.

Investigation revealed that at 4:10 a.m. an unknown suspect operating a silver dually pick-up truck entered onto the property, backed up to the trailer and connected it and drove off, last seen travelling westbound on 17 Side Road.

The suspect is described as male dressed in black, face covered with hood/balaclava.

The suspect vehicle is a silver dually pick-up truck with a large dent in the rear right quarter panel over the tire, running boards, 8 ft bed with liner, no back seat in cab, no tailgate and has rear mud flaps with a bar holding them on.

The stolen RV trailer is described as a 2020 Salem 32 BHDS, unplated, silver, tagalong worth approximately $33,000.

15 Year Old Injured In ATV Collision

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – On May 31, 2020, at 8:25 p.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Barfoot Crescent, north of Colpoy’s Bay in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula.

The investigation revealed that an all-terrain vehicle struck a tree and rolled. The single operator was thrown from the machine.

The driver, a 15 year old from South Bruce Peninsula, was transported to hospital by ambulance with serious injuries.

Grey Bruce OPP continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.

Fatal Collision Near Belmore – Deceased Identified

(HOWICK, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are currently on scene of a two-vehicle crash south of Belmore that has resulted in a fatality.

At approximately 6:49 p.m. on June 4, 2020 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Huron County Paramedic Services responded to the crash scene located at Howick-Turnberry Road (Huron County Road #7) and Forest Line.

The preliminary investigation has determined a motorcycle was travelling westbound on Howick-Turnberry Road (Huron County Road #7) whereupon it collided with a farm tractor towing a manure spreader.

The driver of the motorcycle died at the scene.

He has been identified as Greg MASSEY, 42 years of age, from Morris-Turnberry.

Investigators from the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management & Enforcement (TIME) Team remain on scene assisting with the collision investigation.

Howick-Turnberry Road is currently closed between Belmore Line and Gorrie Line. Motorists are asked to take an alternate route to avoid the collision scene.

Incident In Walkerton Closes Roads – Remain Indoors And Avoid Area

(WALKERTON, ON) – On June 4, 2020 at 12:26 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a situation along McNab Street in Walkerton.

A number of specialized OPP resources have been engaged to assist the South Bruce OPP with this incident. Expect to see an increased police presence in the area.

The South Bruce OPP has initiated road closures around the incident location in the interest of public safety. The closures are on McNab Street, from Napier Street to Johnstone Boulevard, and on South Street, from Hinks Street to Robinson Street, in Walkerton. Motorists are asked to respect the closure and avoid the incident area.

Residents are asked to remain indoors and avoid the incident area.

This is an isolated incident.

Two Repeat Offenders Arrested – Joseph CLUETT & Chantelle DAW

(BLUEWATER, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid more than two dozen charges against two people that were caught early this morning trying to steal a pickup truck from a Bluewater residence.

Early this morning around 12:53 a.m. Huron OPP officers were notified of a pickup truck that was stolen from residence located on Airport Line. Officers began patrolling for the suspect vehicle and as they were doing so they were receiving live up dates as to the location of the mobile vehicle. Officers were able to get the vehicle immobilized after it left the roadway into a farmer’s field located near the intersection of London Road and Walnut Road.

Both occupants took off running and attempted to flee. The passenger tripped and fell and was quickly arrested. The driver managed to evade police for a short while however with the assistance of an OPP Canine Unit the co-accused was located and taken into custody.

Joseph CLUETT, 24 years of age from West Perth has been charged with the following offences:

Defibrillator Stolen From Goderich

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is reaching out to the community to help figure out who is responsible for a recent theft in the Town of Goderich. Incredulously, someone stole a defibrillator from Bannister Park located on McDonald Street in Goderich.

Sometime overnight on May 28, 2020 someone attended the Kinette Pavilion area and helped themselves to the AED defibrillator that had been located at the park. The defibrillator was donated to the community through the Dave Mounsey Memorial Fund in July of 2019 at the park’s grand opening.

The stolen defibrillator is a HeartSine Samaritan PAD Sam 500 P model, valued at approximately $2,000.

Break And Enter Near Blyth Solved

(MORRIS-TURNBERY, ON) – A case that had originally been reported to police as a break, enter and theft has now been solved by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). Investigators were attempting to identify two persons of interest in connection with a reported incident that took place north of Blyth this past weekend.

Police have since identified the two persons of interest and it turns out they had received permission from another family member to attend and retrieve the items.

Repeat Offender Arrested In Goderich – BOUVIER

(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers have laid several charges against a Goderich resident after he was caught by police driving while prohibited.

Just before 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 1, 2020 a Huron OPP officer observed the accused travelling southbound on Nile Road in a compact vehicle. The officer was unable to stop the accused at that time however police caught up with the accused later that night on Bayfield Road in Goderich.

He was placed under arrest and was taken into custody without incident.

Matthew BOUVIER, 28 years of age has been charged with the following offences:

Fail to Comply with Probation Order – Two Counts

Driving While Under Suspension – Three Counts

Drive Motor Vehicle No Plates

Operate Motor Vehicle Without Insurance

He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for July 13, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Goderich Man Facing Assault With Weapon, Assault Causing Bodily Harm & Mischief Charges

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Goderich man with several domestic assault related offences following a recent investigation.

On Thursday, May 28, 2020 Huron OPP commenced a domestic violence investigation after receiving a call from the victim.

The subsequent police investigation revealed the accused had committed several acts of domestic violence against the victim over a 16-year period. The accused was taken into custody without incident on May 29, 2020.

The accused, a 57-year-old Goderich resident has been charged with Assault with a Weapon – four counts, Assault Causing Bodily Harm and Mischief Under $5,000. He has since been released from custody with a future court date.

Repeat Offender Caught With Methamphetamine – MCPHERSON

(GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – On May 31, 2020 at 6:48 p.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a report of suspicious parties in a parking lot near an industrial park at Highway 6 in Georgian Bluffs, Ontario.

OPP officers attended and located several people behind the industrial park after hours.

As a result of this investigation, the Grey Bruce OPP have charged Ian MCPHERSON, 34 years old from Owen Sound, with the following offences:

Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC)

Possession of a schedule 1 substance – Methamphetamine, section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act

Fail to comply with Probation Order, section 733.1(1) CC

The accused was released on an Appearance Notice and is scheduled to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on September 17, 2020.

Another person was charged with Cannabis related offences and several other parties were warned.

Levi SIPOS Charged For Damaging Golf Cart

(SOUTHGATE, ON) – On May 30, 2020 at 1:48 p.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a possible theft in progress of a golf cart at a golf course near Mount Forest, in Southgate, Ontario.

An individual had been playing golf, then they decided to drive a golf cart off of the golf course and onto the highway, appearing to be driving away with the cart. The owner of the golf course confronted them and observed significant damage to the front of the golf cart and requested that they return to the club house to deal with this issue. The individual abandoned the cart and left on foot.

Officers from the Grey Bruce OPP attended the golf course and apprehended the person after a brief foot pursuit.

Grey Bruce OPP have charged Levi SIPOS, 21 years old from Gravenhurst, Ontario with Mischief, destroys or damages property, section 430(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused has been released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on August 6, 2020.

Drunk Driver Downs Hydro Lines – LINDNER

(PERTH EAST, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged a person in relation to a collision last week.

Shortly before 8:30 p.m. on May 26 2020, Perth County OPP received a call for a single motor vehicle collision on Line 37 in the Township of Perth East. The investigation revealed that a van travelling westbound left the roadway, striking a hydro pole and downing the hydro lines.

Upon speaking with the driver, the investigating officer learned that the driver had consumed alcohol. An approved screening device was utilized and the driver produced a roadside sample of breath that resulted in a fail.

The driver was placed under arrest and was transported to the Stratford Police Service detachment for breath tests, where his blood alcohol concentration was determined to be above the legal limit.

As a result, Jordan LINDNER, 31, of Stratford, has been charged with the following offences, contrary to the Criminal Code:

Operation while Impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford, at a later date, to answer to the charges. The vehicle involved was towed from the scene and a seven day impound was initiated as per statute. The accused’s driver’s licence was also suspended for 90 days.
