Repeat Offender Arrested In Wingham – Catherine CORR

(NORTH HURON, ON) – A traffic stop of a cyclist last week in Wingham has resulted in criminal charges for a Wingham resident.

On Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at approximately 12:40 a.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped the driver of a mountain bike on Josephine Street in Wingham for a traffic related offence.

A serial number check on the bike revealed the bicycle had been reported as a stolen bike from London. An additional check on the driver revealed she was currently serving a probation sentence and was failing to comply with a condition of her release.

Catherine CORR, 31 years of age, from Wingham was arrested and charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 and Fail to Comply with Probation Order. She was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for August 10, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Break And Enter In Lucknow

(LUCKNOW, ON) – On June 5, 2020 at 8:22 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break and enter at a business in the 600 block of Inglis Street in Lucknow. Sometime between 6:00 p.m. on June 4, 2020 and 8:00 a.m. on June 5, 2020, the business was forcibly entered. The list of missing property includes 2 Orange Echo chainsaws. The value of the stolen property is estimated to be $900.

33 Year Old Arrested For Impaired Driving Cherry Picker

(NORTH HURON, ON) – A North Huron resident is facing Impaired Operation charges after he was caught by police this weekend driving a telehandler (cherry picker) while impaired by alcohol.

On Friday, June 5, 2020 at approximately 6:08 p.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was investigating an unrelated incident on Reid Road south of Wingham when a driver approached the officer operating a telehandler (cherry picker). While speaking with the driver the investigating officer noted the driver had been drinking alcohol and was displaying several signs of impairment.

The driver was placed under arrest for impaired operation and was transported to the Listowel OPP Detachment for breath tests. The driver provided two samples of his breath to a qualified intoxilizer technician and both of his samples were found to be above the legal limit.

Jeremy HESSELS, 33 years of age, from North Huron has been charged with Impaired Operation and Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80) Plus. He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for August 24, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

His licence has been suspended for an automatic 90 days and his vehicle has been towed and impounded.

19 Year Old Repeat Offender Arrested – Assault Officer, Theft, Mischief Etc.

(CARRICK TWP, ON) – On June 5, 2020 at 11:29 a.m., South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report that a pay loader had been taken from an address in Brant Township. Members of the South Bruce OPP located the pay loader in Carrick Township being driven in an erratic manner.

As a result of the police investigation criminal charges have been laid. Mason STROEDER, 19-years-old of Brockton was charged with Dangerous Operation, 2 counts of Operation while Prohibited, 2 counts of Assault Peace Officer, Theft over $5,000, 2 counts of Mischief over $5,000, Mischief under $5,000 and Fail to Comply with Probation.

He is currently in custody pending the results of a bail hearing scheduled for June 9, 2020.

Fatal Collision Update

(WEST PERTH, ON) – Shortly before 1:45 p.m. on June 5, 2020 Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Perth County Paramedic Services, and the West Perth Fire Department responded to a collision at Perth Line 44 and Perth Road 180 (Huron 14).

A pick-up truck was travelling westbound on Perth Line 44 and was struck by a second pick-up truck that was travelling northbound on Perth Road 180. The preliminary investigation has determined that the northbound truck failed to stop at the stop sign. Both trucks entered the ditch, and the occupants of the westbound truck had to be extricated by the West Perth Fire Department. ORNGE Air Ambulance attended the scene but did not transport any patients.

The driver of the westbound truck was pronounced deceased at the scene. He has since been identified as Campbell SANDERS, 69, of North Perth. A post mortem examination was completed on June 6 2020.

A 73-year-old passenger of the westbound truck, a resident of North Perth, was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A 23-year-old resident of Aylmer was driving the northbound truck, and was not injured.

Investigators from the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team assisted with the collision investigation.

18 Year Old Impaired Driver Rolls Vehicle

(MIDDLESEX, ON) – On June 7, 2020 at 9:56 p.m. Middlesex OPP, Thames Centre Fire and Middlesex-London EMS responded to a single vehicle roll over collision on Crampton Dr. in the Municipality of Thames Centre. The vehicle with three occupants struck a hydro pole and then rolled onto its roof. The driver was transported to a local area hospital as a precaution and later arrested for impaired operation.

As a result of an investigation police have charged Eric SZYMANSKI – age 18 – of Malahide TWP with:

CC 320.14(1)(a) Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

CC 320.14(1)(b) Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in a London court room on August 20th to speak to the charges.

Impaired Driver, Loaded Handgun & Methamphetamine – ANGOK & KHALAF

(MIDDLESEX, ON) – On June 6, 2020 at 10:54 p.m. Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) located a speeding motor vehicle travelling with three occupants at 186 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone on Dundas St., located in the Municipality of Thames Centre. A traffic stop was conducted and police soon learned that the driver was impaired. The driver was placed under arrest at the scene and transported to the London OPP detachment for further testing.

During the course of the traffic stop police also located a loaded handgun in plain view and a quantity of drugs. All three occupants were placed under arrest at the scene.

As a result of an investigation police have charged Diu ANGOK -age 27- of London, ON with:

CC 91(1) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

CDSA 4(1) Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine

CC 320.14(1)(a) Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

CC 320.14(1)(b) Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

CC 94 Occupant of Motor Vehicle knowing there was Firearm

HTA 172(1) Race a motor vehicle – Excessive Speed

Police have also charged Wally KHALAF -age 20- of London, ON. With:

CC 91(1) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

CC 94 Occupant of Motor Vehicle knowing there was Firearm

CDSA 4(1) Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine

Police have also charged a Young Person with:

CC 91(1) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

CC 94 Occupant of Motor Vehicle knowing there was Firearm

CDSA 4(1) Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine

The motor vehicle was impounded and the drivers licence was seized. The accused parties were released from police custody and are scheduled to appear in a London court room at a future date in August to speak to the charges.

Fatal Collision

(WEST PERTH, ON) – Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are currently on scene of a two-vehicle crash west of Brodhagen that has resulted in a fatality.

At approximately 2:30 p.m. on June 5, 2020 Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the collision at Perth Line 44 and Perth Road 180 (Huron 14).

The preliminary investigation has determined a pick-up truck was travelling westbound on Perth Line 44 and was struck by a second pick-up truck that was travelling northbound on Perth Road 180. Both trucks entered the ditch. The intersection is controlled by a stop sign.

The driver of the westbound truck died at the scene.

Investigators from the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team remain on scene assisting with the collision investigation.

Perth Line 44 is currently closed between Manley Line and Road 179, and Road 180 is closed between Line 46 to Line 42. Motorists are asked to take an alternate route to avoid the collision scene.

Palmerston Methamphetamine Bust

(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) – On May 27, 2020, at approximately 6:50 p.m., members of the Wellington County and the Huron-Perth Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Units (CSCU) along with uniform members executed a search warrant at a residence on Inkerman Street in Palmerston.

The search of the residence resulted in a quantity of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia being located and seized. The estimated value of the seized methamphetamine is $8000.

As a result of the investigation an arrest warrant has been issued for a suspect.

20 Year Old Caught Going 145 in an 80 – POLLARD

(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) – On June 3, 2020 at approximately 8:35 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic and conducting radar on Highway 6 near Laird Road in the City of Guelph. The officer observed a southbound motor vehicle travelling at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 145 km/h.

Rachel Lynn POLLARD, 20-years-old of Guelph has been charged with Racing a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in Guelph at the Ontario Court of Justice – Provincial Offences Court on September 2, 2020. The vehicle and driver’s licence were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

Arrest Following 911 Call – Methamphetamine A Factor

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – On May 31, 2020 at approximately 3:15 a.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a 911 call from a payphone on George Street in Arthur.

Officers patrolled the area and located a heavily intoxicated person in a paranoid state nearby and placed them under arrest for public intoxication. During a search incident to arrest, police located a baggie containing methamphetamine.

Jeff GREIN, 59-years-old of Wellington North Township has been charged with Possession of Methamphetamine contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph on August 4, 2020 to answer to the charge.

Meaford Drug Bust – PICARD, HENDERSON & GRANT

(MEAFORD, ON) – On June 4, 2020 at 6:01 a.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed a Search Warrant at a residence at Parker Street West in Meaford, Ontario. Grey Bruce OPP officers assisted Grey Bruce Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) members and Huron-Perth CSCU members with the warrant.

Officers arrested three people and police have seized a quantity of Cocaine, Morphine, Methamphetamine, Hydromorphone, several other drugs and drug paraphernalia, along with two prohibited weapons.

Bernie PICARD, 58 years old from Meaford, Ontario is charged with the following offences:

Two counts of Possession of a Schedule 1 substance (Cocaine & Opioid) for the purpose of trafficking, section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act (CDSA)

Four counts of Possession of a Schedule 1 substance, section 4(1) CDSA

Two counts of unauthorized possession of weapon, section 91(2) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC)

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on August 13, 2020.

Diane HENDERSON, 49 years old from Meaford, Ontario is charged with the following offences:

Two counts of Possession of a Schedule 1 substance (Cocaine & Opioid) for the purpose of trafficking, section 5(2) CDSA

Five counts of Possession of a Schedule 1 substance, section 4(1) CDSA

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on August 13, 2020.

Robina GRANT, 30 years old from Meaford, Ontario is charged with the following offences:

Two counts of Possession of a Schedule 1 substance (Cocaine & Opioid) for the purpose of trafficking, section 5(2) CDSA

Four counts of Possession of a Schedule 1 substance, section 4(1) CDSA

Failing to comply with release order, section 145(5)(a) CC

The accused will appear for a bail hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice on June 4, 2020.

Repeat Offenders Arrested Again – MARTIN, DOLMAGE, SCOTT

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged three people after a traffic stop in the Municipality of North Perth last week.

Shortly before 10:00 p.m. on May 28, 2020, a Perth County OPP officer pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation on Binning Street West, in Listowel. Through an investigation, it was found that two of the occupants were breaching conditions, and one was found in possession of methamphetamine. Three people are now facing charges.

Bradley MARTIN, 38, of North Perth, was charged with:

Fail to Comply with Probation Order

Tracy DOLMAGE, 39, of North Perth, was charged with:

The accused parties have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

BOLO Stolen Ford Escape Plate: AAAZ692

(NORTHERN BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – On June 3, 2020 at 9:04 a.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to the theft of 2017 (grey) Ford Escape with attached Ontario licence plate #AAAZ692 from a residence at North Shore Road, Northern Bruce Peninsula.

Sometime between June 2, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. and June 3, 2020 at 7:50 a.m. unknown person(s) stole the Ford Escape from the driveway.

Grey Bruce OPP are seeking the public assistance in identifying the person(s) involved in this crime.

Bank Scammed Out Of $40,000

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating after a suspect attended a local financial institution and scammed the bank for approximately $40,000.

On May 21 2020, at approximately 11:00 a.m., the suspect attended the financial institution in the Municipality of North Perth, where they provided identification. The suspect then performed some banking transactions, with a total value of approximately $40,000. It was later determined that the suspect had stolen a person’s identity, and the transactions were found to be fraudulent.

Police are now seeking assistance from the public in identifying the suspect. The male suspect is described as approximately 50 years old, with black and grey hair, and was dressed casually at the time of the offence.
