Impaired Driver Charged Following Rollover Collision

(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH-ERAMOSA, ON) – On October 2, 2020, at approximately 11:30 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision involving a possible impaired driver on Wellington Road 51 near Ariss Glen Drive in the Township of Guelph-Eramosa.

It was reported that a vehicle left the road and rolled over onto a driveway of a residence.

Police spoke with the driver and determined that their ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to a local OPP Operation Centre for further testing.

Jean-Pierre Correia MARIN, 39-years-old of Saugeen First Nation, has been charged with;

Driving With Cannabis Readily Available

Novice Driver-Blood Alcohol Concentration Above Zero

Class G1 Licence Holder-Unaccompanied by Licenced Driver

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph on October 30, 2020 to answer to the charges.

Darrell MCGREGOR – Dangerous Driving, Methamphetamine A Factor

TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On October 3, 2020, at approximately 12:45 p.m. a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received reports of an orange sedan that was travelling at a high rate of speed and passing other vehicles unsafely on Highway 6 south of Fergus.

A Wellington County OPP officer who was monitoring traffic on Highway 6, spotted the suspect vehicle southbound at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 180 km/h.

Police stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver for Dangerous Driving.

Further investigation revealed that the driver and a passenger, were in possession of drug paraphernalia, a large quantity of cash, and a quantity of drugs including Methamphetamine and Fentanyl.

Darrell MCGREGOR, 55-years-old of Owen Sound has been charged with Dangerous Driving contrary to the Criminal Code and Possession of Methamphetamine contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on November 6, 2020 to answer to the charges.

Kayla Courage RAWN, 20-years-old of Owen Sound has been charged with Possession of Fentanyl contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on November 6, 2020 to answer to the charge.

Homayoun AHMADZAI – 150 in an 80

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) On October 3, 2020 at 9:50 p.m. Grey Bruce OPP stopped a (white) van on Highway 6, near Greig Settlement Road, in South Bruce Peninsula that was travelling over 150 kilometres per hour (km/h) in this posted 80 km/h speed limit.

Grey Bruce OPP have charged Homayoun AHMADZAI, 42 years-of-age, from Brampton, ON with stunt driving – 50km/h or more over the posted speed limit, contrary to section 172(1) Highway Traffic Act (HTA).

The accused was issued a provincial summons to attend court, a seven day drivers licence suspension and their vehicle was towed and will be impounded for seven days.

In 2019, Grey Bruce OPP charged 190 drivers with stunt driving on Highway 6, between Wiarton and Tobermory. In 2020, to date, officers have charged 210 drivers with stunt driving on the same stretch of highway.

Grey Bruce OPP are asking the public to report any excessive speeding and aggressive driving observed on Highway 6, as well as any other highways throughout Grey and Bruce Counties.

Jonathan BELLAMY Caught In The Act – Theft

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On October 5, 2020 at approximately 3:00 a.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a theft in progress at an address on Wellington Road 29 east of Fergus.

It was reported that a suspect was observed stealing scrap metal while on the property. Upon police arrival, a suspect was arrested without incident and the stolen property was recovered.

Jonathan BELLAMY, 32-years-old of the Township of Centre Wellington, has been charged with Theft Under $5,000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice-Guelph on November 3, 2020.

Caleb WHITTAKER – 100 in a 40

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On September 16, 2020, at approximately 1:00 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic and conducting radar on Wellington Road 19 near Tom Street in Fergus. The officer observed a white van travelling eastbound at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 40 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 100 km/h.

As a result, Caleb WHITTAKER, 29-year-old resident of Waterloo, has been charged with Racing a Motor Vehicle and Speeding contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in Guelph at the Ontario Court of Justice – Provincial Offences Court on December 2, 2020. Their vehicle and driver’s licence were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

Break And Enter – Paige KREPS

(NORTHERN BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – On October 3, 2020 at 8:23 a.m., Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a residence at Miller Lake Shore Road in the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula.

The home owners advised that an unknown person had entered their home and was currently sleeping inside the residence.

Grey Bruce OPP attended this residence and located an intoxicated person, still at the scene. Officers observed a door at the residence which had been forced open, breaking the door frame.

As a result of this investigation, Grey Bruce OPP have charged Paige KREPS, 26 years-of-age, from Toronto, ON with Mischief, under $5,000., section 430(4) Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was released on an Appearance Notice and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on November 5, 2020.

Tomasz KURZYDLOWSKI Arrested Following Brief Struggle

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – On October 4, 2020, at approximately 3:00 p.m. a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a motorcycle for a provincial offences violation on George Street near Charles Street in Town of Arthur.

It was reported that the driver attempted to flee the scene however, police were able to place the driver under arrest after a brief struggle. Investigation revealed that the motorcycle had been reported stolen from an address in Oxford County.

Police spoke with the driver and determined that they were displaying signs of drug impairment. The driver was transported to a local OPP Operation Centre for further testing.

Police discovered the accused was in possession of a stolen handgun, ammunition, a switchblade knife, and a quantity of Fentanyl.

As a result of the investigation, Tomasz KURZYDLOWSKI, 41-years-old of Kitchener, faces the following charges:

Carrying a Concealed Weapon

Resist Peace Officer

Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance-Fentanyl

Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm/Ammunition

Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

Possession of a Firearm Obtained by Crime

Operation While Impaired by Drug

Operation While Prohibited Under the Criminal Code

The accused is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on October 5, 2020.

Cole WRIGHT – Drunk Driving

(GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – On October 3, 2020 at 11:36 p.m., Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint involving a (black) pick-up truck that was travelling at a high rate of speed, northbound on Grey Road 18, near the Mennonite corners intersection, in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.

Grey Bruce OPP Officers stopped the involved vehicle and the driver failed a roadside screening device. They were arrested and transported to the Chatsworth detachment for a breath test.

As a result of this investigation, Grey Bruce OPP have charged Cole WRIGHT, 26 years-of-age, from Georgian Bluffs, with operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol, section 320.14(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada (CC) and operation while impaired with blood alcohol concentration 80 mgs or more, section 320.14(1)(b) CC.

The driver was issued a 90 day drivers licence suspension and their vehicle was towed and will be impounded for seven days.

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is required to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on November 5, 2020.

Knife Pulled On Children In Listowel – Suspect At Large

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are looking for a suspect after an incident that occurred in Listowel last week.

On Monday September 28 2020, just before 6:00 p.m., two youths were walking on Nichol Avenue South, in the Municipality of North Perth, and were playing around by yelling out loud while in the parking lot of an elementary school. When a car passed by, it is believed the three male occupants thought the youths were yelling at them. The driver exited the vehicle, where he brandished a knife, and uttered threats to one of the youth. The suspect got back in the vehicle and left the scene. There were no injuries as a result of the altercation.

The male suspect is described as approximately 5’7

Seaforth Break and Enter

(HURON EAST, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continue to investigate a break, enter and theft that took place at a business in Seaforth last week.

Sometime between 2:00 p.m. on September 21, 2020 and 9:00 a.m. on September 22, 2020 those responsible attended a business located on Jarvis Street North and forced entry into a coverall shed on the property.

Once inside they stole several tools and pieces of equipment including an oxygen tank, torches, torque wrench and two full sets of metric wrenches.

The total value of the stolen items is estimated between $1,000 and $1,500.

Armed Robbery – Methamphetamine A Factor

(GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – On October 1, 2020 at 4:08 a.m., Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a weapon occurrence at Highway 6 & 21, Georgian Bluffs in Grey County. Four suspects attended an apartment and displayed a firearm and assaulted the occupants of the residence. They left the scene prior to police arrival.

Grey Bruce OPP officers, Grey Bruce OPP Crime Unit, Grey Bruce OPP Community Street Crime Unit and OPP Regional Support Team are involved in the investigation.

At approximately 2:40 p.m., OPP arrested the four suspects at a business at Highway 21 on Saugeen First Nation. Following a search of the persons and their vehicle, OPP seized a loaded handgun, $20,000 worth of Purple Fentanyl and Methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia.

All four accused were held for a bail hearing on October 2, 2020 in Ontario Court of Justice.

60 Over Speed Limit – Bradley BEIERLING

(BLUEWATER, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Parkhill resident with Performing a Stunt – Excessive Speed after he was stopped for speeding earlier this week.

On Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at approximately 7:43 p.m. a Huron County OPP officer was conducting RADAR patrols on Airport Line when a hatchback was observed travelling northbound well over the speed limit. A RADAR device was utilized and the speed of the vehicle was measured at a speed in excess of 60 km/h over the posted 80 km/h speed limit.

Bradley BEIERLING, 33 years of age from Parkhill has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle – Excessive Speed. His motor vehicle was impounded and his driver’s licence was automatically suspended for seven days. A court date has been set for November 17, 2020 at Provincial Offences Court in Goderich.

One In Serious Condition Following Fiery Crash

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with collision investigators from the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management & Enforcement (TIME) Team continue to investigate a fiery crash that took place west of Mount Carmel yesterday afternoon.

On October 1, 2020 at approximately 1:30 p.m. Huron OPP, Lambton County Paramedic Services, Grand Bend Fire Department and Ornge Air responded to the crash site located at the intersection of Mount Carmel Drive (Huron County #5) and Grand Bend Road (Huron County #81).

The preliminary investigation has determined a compact vehicle was westbound on Mount Carmel Drive when the driver failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. The vehicle left the roadway, struck the ditch on the north side, collided with trees and ultimately caught on fire.

The single occupant was extricated from the vehicle by fire and was transported from the scene to hospital by air ambulance.

The driver currently remains in hospital with life threatening injuries.

$100,000 Drug Bust – POULIN

(WEST NIPISSING, ON) – On October 1, 2020 at approximately 8:50 a.m., members from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and the Nipissing West Detachment executed a search warrant at a residence on Ottawa Street in the Municipality of West Nipissing (Sturgeon Falls).

Officers seized a quantity of drugs suspected to be: Fentanyl, Oxycodone, Methamphetamine, Cocaine and over $10,000 in Canadian currency. The street value of the drugs seized is approximately $99,500.

As a result of the investigation, one person was arrested and charged:

Glen POULIN, age 28, from Sturgeon Falls, was charged with:

Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Opioid (other than heroin) – (two counts), contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA);

Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking -Cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA;

Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA;

Possession Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 – in Canada, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC); and

Failure to Comply with Release Order – other than to attend court, contrary to section 145(5)(a) of the CC.

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice – Bail Court on October 2, 2020 in North Bay.
