3 Vehicle Collision – Impaired Driver Charged

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On October 29, 2020 at 12:46 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police received a report of a 3 vehicle crash along Highway 21 in Kincardine Township. Officers attended with members of Kincardine Fire & Emergency Services and Bruce County Paramedics to find the south bound lane of the Highway was blocked.

As a result of the investigation, one of the involved drivers was placed under arrest. Dario Filipe CAESLHAS-DE JESUS-KING, 28-years-old, of Brampton was charged with Impaired Driving. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on January 20, 20201 to answer to the charge.

There were minor injuries reported at the scene.

Wanted Person Arrested – Sean PLATER

(MEAFORD, ON) – On October 30, 2020 at 9:18 a.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a suspicious person occurrence on Sykes Street North in Meaford.

Police patrolled the area and located a person walking downtown matching the subject’s description. The involved person was currently wanted in two other Ontario jurisdictions, so they were arrested.

As a result of this investigation, Grey Bruce OPP have charged Sean PLATER, 21 years-of-age from Collingwood, ON with the following offences:

Failure to comply with Undertaking, section 145(4)(a) Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)

Breach of Recognizance, section 811 CCC

Carrying a concealed weapon, section 90 CCC

Possession of a Schedule 1 substance – Methamphetamine, section 4(1) Controlled Drugs and Substance Act (CDSA)

Possession of a Schedule 1 substance – other drugs, section 4(1) CDSA

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is required to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on December 3, 2020.

Wayne GUSE – Drunk Driving

(CHATSWORTH, ON) – On October 29, 2020 at 10:36 p.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a (brown) pick-up truck that was parked, with the vehicle running in the live traffic lane on Sideroad 30, near Highway 10, in the Township of Chatsworth.

OPP officers spoke with the driver, who displayed obvious signs of impairment. The driver was arrested for impaired driving and was transported to the Grey Bruce OPP detachment in Chatsworth. A breath test, conducted by a qualified Intoxilyzer operator at the detachment, recorded readings over the legal limit of 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

Grey Bruce OPP have charged Wayne GUSE, 28 years-of-age from Grey Highlands, ON, with operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol, section 320.14(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada (CCC) and operation while impaired with blood alcohol concentration 80 mgs or more, section 320.14(1)(b) CCC.

The accused’s driver’s licence is suspended for 90 days and the vehicle they were operating was towed and impounded for seven days.

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is required to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on December 3, 2020.

Wingham Methamphetamine Bust – Quinn RINGLER

(MORRIS-TURNBERRY, ON) – A resident of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh will be heading to court later this year to answer to some charges following a traffic stop last weekend.

On Sunday, October 25, 2020 at approximately 12:03 p.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed a compact vehicle travelling southbound on Josephine Street in Wingham by a known suspended driver.

A traffic stop was conducted and upon confirming the driver was suspended the driver was placed under arrest. A search incident to arrest resulted in police seizing a small quantity of suspected methamphetamine.

The driver, Quinn RINGLER, 42 years of age from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh has been charged with the following offences: Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine, Driving While Under Suspension, Drive Motor Vehicle – No Validated Permit, Fail to Have Insurance Card and No Clear View to Front. He was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for December 21, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Adam KOEHLER – Drunk Driving

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – A Seaforth resident is facing charges of Impaired Operation and Impaired Operation 80 Plus following a traffic stop that took place earlier this week.

On Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at approximately 10:26 p.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was patrolling eastbound on Huron Road near Whys Line when he observed a vehicle ahead travelling in an erratic manner.

A traffic stop was initiated and upon speaking with the driver it became apparent to the investigating officer the driver was impaired by alcohol. The driver was arrested and was transported to the Clinton OPP Detachment for breath tests. Two samples of breath were supplied to the Intoxilizer Technician and both samples were analyzed to be over the legal limit.

Adam KOEHLER, 37 years of age, from Seaforth has been charged with Operation While Impaired and Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 Plus. He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for later this fall.

Brett FISHER – 140 in an 80

(PERTH EAST, ON) – A Cambridge driver has had their licence suspended for seven days after travelling in excess of 60km/h over the speed limit.

On October 28 2020, just before 3:00 p.m., a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a vehicle on Perth Line 43, in the Township of Perth East, after it was found to be travelling in excess of 140km/h in an 80km/h limit zone.

As a result, Brett FISHER, 48, of Cambridge, has been charged with:

Race motor vehicle – Excessive Speed

A seven day driving suspension and seven day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

Roy De Bruijn – 135 in an 80

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) On October 28, 2020 at 12:02 p.m. Grey Bruce OPP stopped a (red) car on Highway 6, near Limberlost Road, in South Bruce Peninsula that was travelling over 135 kilometres per hour (km/h) in this posted 80 km/h speed limit.

Grey Bruce OPP have charged Roy De Bruijn, 36 years-of-age, from Milton, ON with stunt driving – 50km/h or more over the posted speed limit, contrary to section 172(1) Highway Traffic Act (HTA).

The accused was issued a provincial summons to attend court, a seven day drivers licence suspension and their vehicle was towed and will be impounded for seven days.

Dirt Bike Stolen From Teeswater

(TEESWATER, ON) – On October 27, 2020 at 5:10 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report on the theft of a dirt bike. Sometime between 10:00 p.m. on October 26, 2020 and 5:00 a.m. on October 27, 2020, an Orange and White KTM SXF 450 dirt bike was taken from the bed of a pick-up truck that was parked on Mitchell Street in Teeswater. The bike has the number 852 on it, there is no license plate and the serial number is on file with police. The value of the stolen dirt bike is estimated to be $14,000.

Thomas HUGHES – Drunk Driving, 130 in an 80

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – On October 24, 2020 at approximately 1:30 a.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting traffic enforcement on Wellington Road 6, just south of Mount Forest. The officer observed a northbound passenger vehicle travelling at a speed well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 130 km/h.

Police initiated a traffic stop and determined the driver was under the influence of alcohol. Officers performed roadside testing, which resulted in a fail. The driver was arrested and brought to a local OPP operations centre for further testing.

Thomas HUGHES, 43-years-old of LaSalle, Ontario has been charged with;

Impaired Operation-Over 80 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

Racing a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

Drive Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor contrary to the Liquor Licence Act

The defendant is scheduled to appear in Guelph at the Ontario Court of Justice – Provincial Offences Court on November 17, 2020. The vehicle and driver’s licence were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

More Firearms Stolen

(SOUTHGATE, ON) – Sometime between October 10th and October 24th, 2020 a residence and a sea container were broken into at a property on Southgate Road 24, in the Township of Southgate.

The door to the sea container was pried open and a gun safe was entered. There were two firearms stolen.

20 Year Old With Weed Caught Speeding Facing Drinking & Driving Charge

(BLUEWATER, ON) – A novice driver from Central Huron will be heading to court later this fall following a traffic stop conducted by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) earlier this week.

Just after 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2020 a Huron County OPP officer observed a vehicle travelling southbound on Airport Line at an extremely high rate of speed. The officer used a RADAR device to confirm the speed of the vehicle and it was measured to be travelling in excess of double the 80 km/h speed limit.

After following the vehicle for several kilometers the investigating officer was able to get the subject vehicle stopped. Upon stopping the driver officers had reason to conduct a roadside screening test on the driver. The driver produced a sample and his Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) reading was found to be above zero.

Additionally, a search of the motor vehicle was conducted which resulted in police seizing a quantity of cannabis that was readily available to the driver. As a result, Cory DURRER, 20 years of age, from Central Huron has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform a Stunt – Speeding by 50 km/h or more, Drive Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available, Novice Driver – BAC Above Zero and Fail to Have Insurance Card. He will now have to attend Provincial Offences Act Court in Goderich on December 15, 2020.

In addition to the charges, his motor vehicle was towed and his licence was suspended for an automatic 7 days.

Pickup Truck Driver Facing Drunk Driving Charge

(CHATSWORTH, ON) – On October 25, 2020 at 9:17 a.m., Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint involving a possible impaired driver in a (white) pick-up truck that was driving erratically at unsafe speeds on Sideroad 7, near the Grey Bruce Line in the Township of Chatsworth, ON.

Police patrolled the area and located this vehicle stopped in a laneway entrance to a field. The driver failed a roadside screening device and they were arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and were transported to the Grey Bruce OPP detachment in Chatsworth. A breath test, conducted by a qualified Breath Technician at the detachment, recorded readings that were over the legal limit of 80 milligrams (mg) of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

As a result of this investigation, Grey Bruce OPP have charged Jayson WEBB, 44 years-of-age, from Innisfil, ON with operation while impaired with blood alcohol concentration 80 mg or more, section 320.14(1)(b) Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused’s driver’s licence is suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was towed and will be impounded for seven days.

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is required to attend Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on January 7, 2021.

Pickup Truck Vs Pickup Truck Collision – One Facing Criminal Code Charges

(SOUTHGATE, ON) – On October 23, 2020 at 9:27 p.m., Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision involving two pick-up trucks on Grey Road 9, near Ida Street, in the Village of Dundalk, Township of Southgate.

Police attended and spoke to both of the involved drivers. A driver was arrested at scene for being impaired while operating a motor vehicle and was transported to the Grey Bruce OPP detachment in Markdale for a breath test. The results of the breath test were over the legal limit of 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

As a result of this investigation, Grey Bruce OPP have charged Chelsea MONCKTON, 28 years-of-age, from Chatsworth, ON with operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol, section 320.14(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada (CC) and operation of a motor vehicle while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80, section 320.14(1)(b) CC.

The accused had their drivers licence suspended for 90 days and the involved vehicle was towed and will be impounded for seven days.

The accused has been released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on December 17, 2020.
