Repeat Offender Derek SEIP Was Arrested Again

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) – On August 19, 2025, at approximately 6:12 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an individual entering vehicles at night in the Town of Chesley. While investigating the initial complaint, police learned of numerous incidents involving the same individual over approximately a 3-year period.

Officers spoke with numerous residents and obtained grounds for several offences taking place in the Chesley area. On August 31, 2025, the individual was arrested after a lengthy engagement with police, bringing a large police presence to a residence along 1st Avenue North in Chesley. Members of the South Bruce OPP, OPP Canine, Crisis Negotiators, and the West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) were involved.

Between multiple incidents, Derek SEIP, 31-years-old, resident of Chesley, has been charged with:

  • Fail to comply with probation order, CC 733.1(1) – 9 counts
  • Fail to comply with release order, CC 145(5)(a) – 4 counts
  • Fail to comply with undertaking, CC 145(4)(a)
  • Mischief, CC 430(1)(c) – 8 counts
  • Trespassing at night, CC 177 – 3 counts
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, CC 88
  • Utter threats, CC 264.1(1)(a) – 2 counts

The accused was held for a bail hearing on August 31, 2025, and subsequently remanded into custody.

2 Sent To Hospital – Joshua MCEACHERN Arrested

(GUEPLH-ERAMOSA TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge a Guelph resident with two criminal charges stemming from a two-motor vehicle collision.

On August 31, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., members from the Wellington County OPP attended the scene of a two-motor vehicle collision on Wellington Road 124 within Guelph-Eramosa Township.

As a result of the investigation, Joshua MCEACHERN, a 35-year-old of Guelph is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Careless driving

As a result, two parties involved in the collision were transported to local hospital with minor, non-life-threatening injuries.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on September 12, 2025.

$160,000 In Silver Stolen

(ORILLIA, ON) – Members of the Major Crime Unit (MCU) of the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged two individuals after an investigation resulted in the seizure of stolen silver bars and coins from the Ottawa area. The silver shipment originated from London, ON, intended for the Royal Canadian Mint in Ottawa, ON.

On August 21, 2025, detectives from the MCU commenced an investigation after being informed of precious metals being sold to a business in the Orillia area. Through investigative efforts and with the assistance of both the Ottawa and London Police Services, detectives were able to determine the precious metals being sold were previously reported stolen earlier this month during the shipment. The total outstanding value was estimated around $160,000. Officers were able to identify suspects and located them in the Orillia area to affect an arrest.

As a result of the investigation, Gilles SAUMURE, 41-year-old of Ottawa, and Joseph SAUMURE, 47-year-old of Ottawa, are both facing the following charge:

–      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 (CC)

The accused parties were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia at a future court date.

Fatal Collision Closed Hwy 17

(SUDBURY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a head-on collision, which resulted in the death of one driver.

On August 27, 2025, at approximately 6:25 p.m., members from the Nipissing West (Sudbury) Detachment of the OPP, Fire Services and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a two-vehicle collision, involving a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) and a passenger vehicle on Highway 17, Sudbury.

The driver of the passenger vehicle, a 26-year-old-person, from North Bay was pronounced deceased at the scene and no injuries were reported to the CMV driver.

The highway was closed in both directions for just over eight hours.

The investigation is still ongoing with the assistance of the OPP Collision Reconstructionist and the Traffic Collision Investigation Team to determine the cause of the collision.

Identity Fraud: Amanda Joanne Grossi, Anthony Odenore & Kenechukwu Moka

The Windsor Police Service has charged three people, including an employee of a telecommunications company, in connection with a fraud scheme involving stolen customer information.

On May 21, 2025, the Windsor Police Financial Crimes Unit launched an investigation after the company reported that a fraudulent account had been opened using two stolen identities. The account was then used to obtain electronic devices valued at $9,529.

Investigators determined that a company employee created the fraudulent account in January 2025. The following week, two alleged accomplices met the employee at a retail location, where they collected two cellphones and a tablet under the fraudulent account.

Through their investigation, officers identified three suspects: Amanda Joanne Grossi, 35, Anthony Odenore, 32, and Kenechukwu Moka, 34.

Grossi turned herself in at Windsor Police headquarters on August 20, while Odenore surrendered to police the following day. They have each been charged with:

  • Fraud over $5,000
  • Obtaining funds by false pretence over $5,000
  • Personate to gain advantage
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

Moka, the telecommunications employee, was issued a criminal summons to appear in court at a future date. He is charged with fraud over $5,000.

One Dead – Joseph WEBER Arrested

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – Charges have been laid following the investigation into a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred on Tuesday, March 18, 2025

On May 13, 2025 the Perth County OPP charged 19-year-old, North Perth resident, Joseph WEBER with the following offence under the Highway Traffic Act:

  • Careless Driving Causing Death

WEBER is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on June 24, 2025.

Break & Enter – ST DENIS & TICKLE

(BRANT COUNTY, ON) – Two individuals have been arrested and are facing charges after Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) members responded to a break and enter in progress at a commercial property on Colborne Street East.

On Tuesday December 17, 2024, at approximately 10:43 p.m., Brant County OPP received a report for a break and enter in progress at a business on Colborne Street East in the County of Brant. The property owner was monitoring the site and was able to direct police to the location of the suspects who were arrested and transported to the Brant detachment.

 Christopher ST DENIS, 61-years-old from Brantford has been charged with the following offence:

 Cynthia TICKLE, 57-years-old from Brantford has been charged with the following offence:

 The accused have been released from police custody and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford, Ontario on February 7, 2025.

Conor JONES – Dangerous Operation

(DRYDEN, ON) – Members of the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment have arrested and charged one individual after a motor vehicle collision.  

On December 2, 2024, at approximately 2:00 p.m. members of the Dryden OPP Detachment responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 in the Township of Zealand.

Through investigation, it was determined that one of the drivers involved in the collision had been consuming alcoholic beverages. The accused was placed under arrest after refusing to provide a breath sample into an approved screening device (ASD).

Conor JONES, 34-years-old, of Barrie, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with:

·         Dangerous operation

·         Failure or refusal to comply with demand

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Dryden January 20, 2025.

3 Sent To Hospital Following Collision In Arva

(ARVA, ON) – A late night crash in Arva has sent three people to hospital.

On November 30, 2024, at approximately 10:56 p.m., Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attempted to stop a motorist on Highway 4, near Croydon Drive. A collision occurred between two vehicles.

As a result of the collision, three individuals were transported to hospital, two with life-threatening injuries.

Highway 4 was closed in both directions between Medway Road and Sunningdale Road in both directions but has since reopened.

Due to the police interaction with the initial vehicle, the province’s Special Investigations has been notified of the incident and has invoked its mandate. Raymond SHAWANDE – Drunk Driving

(GORE BAY, ON) – One person has been arrested and charged for impaired operation following a traffic hazard complaint on Highway 540, Burpee Township.

On November 9, 2024, at approximately 3:45 a.m., the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a traffic hazard involving a pickup truck. Officers attended the area and observed a pickup truck matching the description travelling eastbound on Highway 540.

A traffic stop was conducted, and while speaking to the driver police determined alcohol had been consumed and the driver was transported to the Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service detachment for further testing. Additionally, officers located and seized five firearms and ammunition from inside the pickup truck.

As a result, the driver, Raymond SHAWANDE, 55-years-old from Wikwemikong, was charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Carless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition – five counts

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Gore Bay on January 21, 2025.

Keegan IUSI – Break & Enter, Theft

(SHELBURNE, ON) – As a result of a thorough investigation, members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) promptly laid charges in connection to a break and enter to a local Shelburne business.

On October 18, 2024, members of the Dufferin OPP responded to an alarm call at a local business on Main Street West in Shelburne. Upon arrival police observed the front door to be smashed and determined it to be a break and enter. A short while later police responded to a second call for service in which the suspect of the break and enter was identified, arrested, and charged.

Keegan IUSI, a 18-year-old from Amaranth has been charged with:

  • Break, Enter a place- commit indictable offence
  • Theft Under $5,000
  • Disobeying order of court
  • Failure to comply with undertaking (2 counts)

The accused individuals was held for Bail to answer to their charges.

Justin ROSS – Drunk Driving

(HILLSBURG, ON) On August 11, 2024, at approximately 6:00 p.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP was dispatched to a motor vehicle collision fail to remain on Spruce Street, Erin. As a result of the investigation, Justin ROSS, 29-years-old of Cambridge, was charged with:

– Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and drugs

– Operation While Impaired – Blood Concentration 80 plus

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, on August 23, 2024.

Stolen Vehicle Recovered – Two Arrested

(CHIPPEWAS OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION, ON) – Traffic stop leads to multiple charges for two individuals from London.

On July 27, 2024, at approximately 4:29 p.m., a member of the Oneida Nation Police, while travelling through Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, observed a suspicious vehicle on Antler River Road.

As the officer approached the vehicle on the narrow road, the suspect vehicle collided with the cruiser. The suspect vehicle subsequently struck a tree as it attempted to flee in the opposite direction.

Two occupants were placed under arrest.

Investigation revealed the vehicle had previously been reported as stolen out of Elgin County.

As a result, the driver, Justin KICKS, a 35-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with:

  • Flight from peace officer
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – in Canada
  • Dangerous operation
  • Assault A Peace Officer with a weapon
  • Resist Peace Officer
  • Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code
  • Poss of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine
  • Poss of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid (other than heroin) (two counts)

The accused was wanted by a municipal police service and was held for bail.

The passenger, Candas PARDAENS, a 38-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with:

  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – in Canada
  • Poss of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine
  • Poss of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid (other than heroin) (two counts)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on September 20, 2024, to speak to the charges.

There were no injuries.

3 More Impaired Drivers Arrested – Names Released

(ORILLIA, ON) – Officers from the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged three drivers with impaired driving related charges during three separate incidents.

Shortly after 6:30 p.m., on June 5, 2024, officers of Orillia OPP were alerted to a motor vehicle parked on the side of Highway 11 North in Oro-Medonte Township. Officers arrived on scene and found the male driver to have numerous empty alcoholic beverages in the vehicle and was showing numerous signs of being intoxicated by alcohol.

As a result, Brandon GRAHAM, 37-year-old of Sutton has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired- alcohol contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)
  • Operation while impaired- blood concentration (80 plus) contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) CCC

A short time later, at 10:30 p.m., officers of Orillia OPP were on general patrol at Highway 11 North in Oro-Medonte Township. The officer was conducting speed enforcement when a vehicle was obviously travelling above the posted limit registered a stunt driving speed. A traffic stop was initiated, and the driver was showing signs of being intoxicated by alcohol.

As a result, Morris KOMAKEH, 47-year-old of North Bay has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration 80 plus contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) CCC
  • Drive motor vehicle- Perform stunt- excessive speed contrary to section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).

Again, at 1:00 a.m., on June 6, 2024, officers were on general patrol in the area of Atherly Road, in the City of Orillia when a motor vehicle was observed proceeding through numerous amber lights, at a high rate of speed. The officer initiated a traffic stop, upon speaking with the driver, an odour of alcohol was coming from the driver’s breath. The driver continued to show signs of being intoxicated by alcohol.

As a result, Cale SIMPSON 42-year-old, of Vancouver has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired- alcohol contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) (CCC)
  • Operation while impaired- blood concentration (80 plus) contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) CCC
  • Drive motor Vehicle- no plates contrary to section 7(1)(b)(i) HTA!
  • Amber light- fail to stop contrary to section 144(15) HTA

The accused parties are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia, to answer to the charges at a later date in July 2024. Their driver’s licences were suspended for 90 days, and vehicles were impounded for a period of 7 days.

The Orillia OPP reminds motorist to plan ahead when consuming alcohol or drugs. Use a designated driver, cab, rideshare, public transit or stay overnight. Matthew FISHER Arrested Again – Assault With Weapon

(BURKS FALLS, ON) – The Almaguin Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) lay multiple charges after an assault investigation.

On April 21, 2024, members of the Almaguin Highlands OPP responded to a report of an assault. The victim reported being assaulted and held against their will prior to reporting the incident to police.   

As a result of the investigation, Matthew FISHER, 35-years-old from Burk’s Falls Ontario was arrested and charged with:

  •   Forcible Confinement
  •  Assault
  •   Assault with a Weapon
  •   Assault Causing Bodily Harm
  •   Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm – 2 counts
  •   Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order – 2 counts

The accused was held for bail and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on April 26, 2024.
