Stolen Vehicle Recovered – Harmander Singh & Jagman Kular Arrested

(THE BLUE MOUNTAINS, ON) – Just before noon on March 02, 2025, members of the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Ontario Provincial Police were dispatched to a theft in progress at the LCBO in Thornbury, ON. Two males entered the store and took numerous bottles of liquor and left without paying. The two males then fled in a stolen vehicle with approximately $800 in bottles of high-value scotch. 

As the situation unfolded, the suspect vehicle was spotted by officers of the Collingwood OPP on Balsam street in the East end of the Town of Collingwood, ON. When a traffic stop was initiated by officers, the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed and violated the right-of-way at several intersections. Additional units converging on the area observed the vehicle travelling West towards the Blue Mountain ski hills. Officers of the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains OPP then located the suspect vehicle abandoned in a ski lodge parking lot. Officers searched on foot and with the public’s assistance, located and arrested the two suspects. One of the males was found hiding in the washroom of the ski lodge.

Details revealed that the vehicle, a Mitsubishi RVR, had been stolen out of Brampton on February 28, 2025. Additionally, police recovered a stolen licence plate, a small quantity of drugs believed to be methamphetamine and the stolen the bottles of scotch.   

Further into the investigation, it was determined that one of the males had provided a false name to police and that both males were connected to other criminal investigations throughout the region. The Collingwood OPP held both accused in custody to appear before a bail hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood. This hearing occurred on March 03, 2025. 

25-year-old Harmander Singh of Toronto, ON has been charged with:

  • Dangerous Operation (motor vehicle)
  • Flight from Peace Officer
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – methamphetamine
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000
  • Theft Under $5000 – Shoplifting

26-year-old Jagman Kular of Brampton, ON has been charged with:

  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – methamphetamine
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000
  • Theft Under $5000 – Shoplifting

Due to the ongoing and intricate nature of this investigation, the Collingwood OPP will not be releasing any further details at this time.

Matthew SPRINGER – Theft

(Town of the Blue Mountains, ON) – Members of the Collingwood and Blue Mountains Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a male who was attempting a theft from a grocery store in Thornbury.

On January 18, 2025 just before 7:00 PM members of Collingwood and Blue Mountain OPP observed a male inside a grocery store in Thornbury who was the suspect of a series of 3 thefts in 4 days this week at the same location. The suspect was responsible for the theft of hundreds of dollars of stolen property and was in the process of completing yet another theft before police took him into custody.

Further investigation revealed the suspect to have a total of 5 outstanding warrants for which he will be held for a bail hearing.

Matthew SPRINGER, 37 year-old male of Grey County was charged with:

  • Theft Under $5,000 – Shoplifting (3 counts)

Fatal Collision Involving Cyclist

(Town of the Blue Mountains, ON) – Members of the Collingwood and Blue Mountains Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the Technical Collision Investigators and Collision Reconstruction team are investigating a collision involving a motor vehicle and cyclist.

On January 9, 2025 just after 7:00 pm Collingwood and Blue Mountains OPP with assistance of Grey County Paramedics responded to a report of a serious collision where a cyclist had been struck by a motor vehicle on Highway 26 between the Eleventh Line and Tenth Line in Thornbury.

Sadly, as result of the collision, a 59 year-old was confirmed deceased by a Doctor at Meaford Hospital. The involved motorist has been co-operative with police during the investigation.

A section of Highway 26 has been closed for several hours between the Eleventh Line and Tenth Line.

The investigation is ongoing.

51 Year Old From Meaford Arrested – Details Released

(The BLUE MOUNTAINS, ON) – On December 19, 2024, just after 8:00 pm, members of Collingwood/Blue Mountains Ontario Provincial Police were dispatched to a single motor in the ditch and stuck in a snowbank near Camperdown Road and Highway 26. As a result of that investigation, the driver failed an Alcohol Screening Device.

51-year-old Melissa Carway of Meaford, ON was subsequently arrested and charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days and the accused is set to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on January 16th, 2025.

2 From Meaford Arrested For Break & Enter

(THE BLUE MOUNTAINS, ON) – Members of the Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU) of the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the assistance of front-line members of the Collingwood/The Blue Mountains OPP arrested two parties in relation to a string of break and enter incident in Thornbury. 

The break-ins, seven in total, occurred during the month of May at a commercial property on King Street in Thornbury where the suspects gained access to storage lockers and made off with undisclosed items. 

The Collingwood/The Blue Mountains OPP CSCU began their investigation and with the assistance of the Grey County OPP CSCU were able to identify the culprits which led to their arrests. 

Charged are: 33-year-old Anthony VANSICKER of Meaford, charged with six counts of Break and Enter  

And 30-year-old William CONLIN also of Meaford, charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Possession of Break-In Instruments, Obstruct Peace Officer, Theft Under $5000 and five counts of Break and Enter. 

Both were held in custody for a bail hearing and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound at a future date.
