Selina THOMPSON – Drunk Driving

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Driver charged with Impaired after collision in Thames Centre.

On September 14, 2024, at 5:05 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to Patricia Avenue in Thames Centre for report of a collision involving three vehicles.

Investigation revealed the driver lost control and collided with two vehicles that were parked on the road.

It was determined the driver had previously consumed alcohol and was placed under arrest.

As a result, Selina THOMPSON, a 36-year-old of Ingersoll, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Dangerous operation

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on November 14, 2024.

There were no injuries reported.

Rajinder SINGH Was Arrested Again

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Alert officer locates and recovers stolen vehicle in restaurant parking lot in Thames Centre. Driver from London facing charges.

On August 30, 2024, at 12:06 a.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), while on general patrol, observed a suspicious vehicle, parked in a parking lot of a business at 3305 Dorchester Road in Thames Centre.

Investigation revealed the vehicle had previously been reported stolen out of Peel.

An individual was observed sleeping within the vehicle and was placed under arrest without incident.

As a result, Rajinder SINGH, a 29-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada

·      Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court (two counts)

·      Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused was held for bail.

David KAMINSKY – Drunk Driving

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Driver facing Impaired driving charge after failing roadside demand.

On July 13, 2024, at 12:52 a.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), while on general patrol on Hamilton Road in Thames Centre performed a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle.

It was determined the driver had previously consumed alcohol. An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized. The driver was arrested and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment where further tests were administered.

As a result, David KAMINSKY, a 34-year-old of Thames Centre, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on September 17, 2024.

Fatal Collision

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – An individual is deceased following a two-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle in the Municipality of Thames Centre.

On June 13, 2024, at approximately 6:15 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Fire and Emergency Services, and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a collision at Prospect Hill Road and Plover Mills Road, Municipality of Thames Centre.

The collision involved a passenger vehicle that collided with a motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 30-year-old from London, was transported by EMS and later pronounced deceased at a local hospital.

The driver/lone occupant of the passenger vehicle, 49-year-old from London, reported no injuries and has been taken into custody by the Middlesex County OPP.

The identity of the deceased individual will not be released out of respect for the family’s privacy.

The Middlesex OPP with the assistance West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team continue to investigate the collision.

Plover Mills Road between Valleyview Road and Clark Road, as well as Prospect Hill Road between Ilderton Road and 13 Mile Road are closed for an undetermined amount of time to allow for investigation.

Scott CONNELLY From Lucknow Arrested – Details Released

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Driver charged with impaired after police attend residence in Thames Centre for an unwanted person.

On July 1, 2024, at 2:16 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to an address on Thames Street in Dorchester, Thames Centre, for the report of an unwanted person.

Police arrived at the address and observed the unwanted person asleep in their vehicle.

It was determined the driver had previously consumed alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment.

As a result, Scott CONNELLY, a 52-year-old of Lucknow, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on August 26, 2024.

Brock NIELSEN Was Arrested

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Traffic stop leads to arrest of impaired driver and a quantity of illicit drugs.

On June 27, 2024, at 3:42 p.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), while on general patrol on Marion Street in Thames Centre, observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed.

A traffic stop was initiated.

The driver was placed under arrest.

A search of the vehicle resulted in 262 grams of illicit drugs, suspected to be cocaine.

The individual was transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment where tests were completed by a qualified Drug Recognition Expert (DRE).

As a result, Brock NIELSEN, a 43-year-old of Dorchester, has been charged under the Criminal Code, the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the Highway Traffic Act with:

·      Operation while impaired – drugs

·      Resist Peace Officer

·      Failure to comply with undertaking

·      Poss of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

·      Speeding 1 – 49 Km/h over posted limit

·      Driving while under suspension

The accused was held for bail.

Christian NGWALE Was Arrested

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Driver charged with Impaired after two-vehicle collision.

On June 16, 2024, at 5:19 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to Highway 401 and Veterans Memorial Parkway in the City of London, for the report of a collision involving two vehicles.

It was determined the driver had previously consumed alcohol and was placed under arrest.

As a result, Christian NGWALE, a 28-year-old of Kingston, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Dangerous operation

·      Resist Peace Officer

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on August 8, 2024.

There were no injuries reported.

Bradley DAVIS Arrested Following Collision

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Driver charged with Impaired after vehicle leaves roadway and rolls.

On June 13, 2024, at 7:17 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Middlesex London Paramedic Service and Thames Centre fire were dispatched to Hamilton Road in Thames Centre, for the report of a single vehicle that left the roadway, entered the ditch and rolled.

It was determined the driver had previously consumed alcohol and was placed under arrest.

As a result, Bradley DAVIS, a 48-year-old of Ingersoll, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on July 30, 2024.

Both occupants were treated at scene for minor injuries.

Ernesto FRIESEN – Drunk Driving

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Driver charged with impaired operation after vehicle catches fire in Thames Centre.

On June 13, 2024, at 5:33 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with members of the Thames Centre Fire department were dispatched to the report of a vehicle fire on Putnam Road in Thames Centre.

It was determined the driver had previously consumed alcohol. An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized. The driver was arrested and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment where further tests were administered.

As a result, Ernesto FRIESEN, a 24-year-old of Aylmer, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on August 13, 2024.

There were no injuries reported.

Fatal Collision

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Asingle vehicle collision on Catherine Street in Thames Centre leaves one involved occupant deceased.

On June 16, 2024, at 8:23 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Middlesex-London Paramedic Service and local Fire, were dispatched to Catherine Street between Shaw Road and WestchesterBourne in Thames Centre, for the report of a serious collision involving single vehicle.

Early investigation revealed the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.

The lone occupant was transported to hospital where they were later pronounced deceased.

The OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team is on scene to assist with the investigation.

The roadway is anticipated to remain closed for the next few hours.

Ryan HETHERINGTON Charged Following Collision

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Driver charged with refusal after single vehicle collision on Highway 401.

On June 8, 2024, at 7:11 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to Highway 401 Westbound in Thames Centre, for the report of a single vehicle collision, involving a motorcycle.

It was determined the driver had previously consumed alcohol and was placed under arrest.

As a result, Ryan HETHERINGTON, a 31-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Failure or refusal to comply with demand

The operator suffered minor injuries.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on July 30, 2024.

Fatal Collision

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Atwo vehicle collision on Shaw Road in Thames Centre left one driver deceased and sent another to hospital.

On June 6, 2024, at 1:33 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Middlesex-London Paramedic Service and local Fire, were dispatched to Shaw Road in Thames Centre, for the report of a serious collision involving two vehicles.

One driver was pronounced deceased at scene as a result of the collision.

A second driver was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) attended to assist with the investigation.

Shaw Road was closed between Dundas and Trafalgar Streets for several hours for the investigation.

Brandon SMITH – Drunk Driving

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Thames Centre resident charged with impaired operation in OPP RIDE Program.

On May 6, 2024, at 1:44 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police were engaged in a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Hamilton Road in Thames Centre.

A vehicle attempted to elude the program at which time a traffic stop was initiated.

It was determined the driver had previously consumed alcohol. An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized. The driver was arrested and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment where further tests were administered.

As a result, Brandon SMITH, a 31-year-old of Thames Centre, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on July 11, 2024.

12 Dogs Seized – 63 Year Old Arrested

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – One person is facing charges following an investigation into reports of aggressive dogs at a residence in Thames Centre.

On May 4th, 2024, at approximately 4:10 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Middlesex County Crime Unit, OPP K9 and the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), executed a search warrant at an address on Marion Street in Thames Centre due to public safety concerns.

12 dogs were located and seized from the property with the assistance of a local kennel.

There were no reported injuries.

A 63-year-old Thames Centre resident has been charged under the Dog Owners Liability Act with:

·      Owner of Dog – Fail to exercise reasonable precautions to prevent dog behaving in menacing manner.

·      Owner of dog – Fail to prevent biting or attacking a person or domestic animal.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Provincial Offences Court to speak to the charges on June 17, 2024.

The investigation is continuing.

Fatal Collision

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Atwo vehicle collision on Highway 401 in the Westbound lanes in Thames Centre leaves one involved occupant deceased.

On April 26, 2024, at 2:15 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford County OPP, Middlesex-London Paramedic Service and local Fire, were dispatched to the westbound lanes of Highway 401 between Culloden and Putnam Roads in Thames Centre, for the report of a serious collision involving two vehicles.

One individual, a 24-year-old of London, was pronounced deceased at scene as a result of the collision.

The driver of the second vehicle was transported to hospital as a precaution.

The OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team attended the scene to assist with the investigation.

The roadway was closed for the investigation between Culloden Road in Oxford County and Putnam Road in Middlesex County for six hours.
