Drug Bust – Names Released

(STIRLING, ON) – An investigation has led to a drug seizure and arrests in Stirling.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit began a drug trafficking investigation in April.

On Thursday, May 7, 2025, Street Crime Unit members, the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Team members and officers of the Central Hastings Detachment, conducted a traffic stop on Church Street. Two people were arrested without incident.

Search warrants were then executed at two residences on Church Street, as well as the car the individuals have been in.

Officers seized more than 100 grams of suspected cocaine, over seven grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine and over $700 in cash, as well as items typically associated with drug trafficking.

Roy MILLEN, age 56 of Stirling-Rawdon Township and Christopher MATHIEU, age 44 of Quinte West, have each been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – two counts
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

Both accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on May 8, 2025.

Michael MCCRORY – Theft, Fraud, Etc.

(STIRLING, ON) – Investigators have arrested another individual in connection with stolen classic cars recovered in May 2024.

On September 18, 2024, Michael MCCRORY, age 58 of Central Hastings was charged with the following six offences contrary to the Criminal Code:

·      Possession of property obtained by crime

·      Theft over $5,000

·      Fraud over $5,000

·      Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence – two counts

·      Use, deals or acts on forged document

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on October 3, 2024.

The investigation is ongoing. As this matter is currently before the courts, we are unable to provide further details or information.
