Yaman AL-JUNDI Was Arrested

(SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one individual with impaired driving related charges after an officer was alerted by the ALPR.

On April 6, 2025, at approximately 10:24 a.m., Huronia West OPP officers were conducting traffic enforcement southbound on Horseshoe Valley Road in Springwater Township. Officers were alerted by the Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system which prompted further investigation by the officer resulting in a traffic stop. After a brief discussion with the driver, the officer conducted an impaired driving investigation. As a result, Yaman AL-JUNDI, 31-year-old of Toronto, was arrested and has been charged with the following:

·      Adult Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The male was additionally charged under the with:

·      Drive Motor Vehicle, No Current Validated Permit

·      Novice Driver – B.A.C. Above Zero

·      Possesses More Than One Licence

The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Scott MACDONALD – Was Arrested

(SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual with impaired driving related charges after a single vehicle collision.

On March 17, 2025, at approximately 11:15 p.m., Huronia West OPP officers responded to a vehicle collision notification on Highway 26 in Springwater Township.

Officers located the vehicle and driver in a farm field on Highway 26. Officers spoke with the driver and after noticing an odour of alcohol on the driver, officers conducted an impaired driving investigation. As a result of the investigation, Scott MACDONALD, 41-year-old of Collingwood, was arrested and has been charged with the following:

·      Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

·      Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand

The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Joshua FARIA – Impaired Driving

(SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual with impaired driving related charges because of a traffic tip.

On March 14, 2025, at approximately 11:55 p.m., Huronia West OPP officers responded to a traffic tip of a possible impaired driver on Main Street in the Town of Wasaga Beach.

Officers located the vehicle northbound on Crossland Road at Lawson Road and conducted a traffic stop. After speaking with the driver, officers noticed an odour of alcohol on the individual’s breath and conducted an impaired driving investigation. As a result of the investigation, Joshua FARIA, 40-year-old of Tiny Township was arrested and has been charged with the following:

·      Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

·      Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)

2 Dead – Spencer FULTON Arrested

(SPRINGWATER TWP., ON) – The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), with the assistance of the OPP Central Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team, has laid charges in relation to a fatal collision that claimed the lives of two people in Springwater Township.

On February 8, 2025, at approximately 11:55 a.m., Huronia West OPP responded to a head-on collision involving three motor vehicles on County Road 27 between Flos Road 11 East and Baseline Road. Two people were pronounced deceased at the scene. 

As a result of the investigation, Spencer FULTON, 30 years old of Midland, was charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) offences:

• Dangerous operation causing death – two counts

• Operation while prohibited

Following further investigation, the accused was charged with an additional 12 counts of operating a motor vehicle while prohibited contrary to the CC. These charges relate to 12 separate incidents that occurred between October 2019 and January 2025.

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie on April 2, 2025.

The investigation is continuing under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch. Susan DEBRUYN Was Arrested Again

(SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one individual with impaired driving related charges after an officer was alerted to a suspended driver.

On February 12, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Huronia West OPP officers conducted a traffic stop while on general patrol on Penetanguishene Road in Springwater Township. Officers were alerted by the Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system which prompted further investigation by the officer. After a brief discussion with the driver, the officer conducted an impaired driving investigation. As a result, Susan DEBRUYN, 65-year-old of Tiny Township, was arrested and has been charged with the following:

·      Adult Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The Female was additionally charged under the with:

·      Adult Driving While Under Suspension

·      Adult Fail to Surrender Insurance Card

·      Adult Breach of Probation Order

Nina MCCORMACK Was Arrested

(SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one individual with impaired driving related charges after losing control of their vehicle.

On February 3, 2025, at approximately 8:15 a.m., a Huronia West OPP officer observed a vehicle swerve from one lane into oncoming traffic and strike a snowbank before returning to their original lane of travel. The officer conducted a traffic stop to speak with the driver. After a brief discussion with the driver, the officer conducted an impaired driving investigation. As a result, Nina MCCORMACK, 62-year-old of Mississauga, was arrested and has been charged with the following:

Christopher MAXWELL – Drunk Driving

(SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged two individuals with impaired driving related charges over the last couple of days.

On January 30, 2025, at approximately 9:51 p.m., Huronia West OPP officers located a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 400 North near Forbes Road in Springwater Township. After a brief discussion with the driver, the officer conducted an impaired driving investigation. A roadside Alcohol Screening Device (ASD) was administered on the driver. As a result, Christopher MAXWELL, 38-year-old of Penetanguishene, was arrested and has been charged with the following:

·      Adult Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

On January 31, 2025, at approximately 11:07 p.m., Huronia West OPP officers conducted a traffic stop on several Motorized Snow Vehicles (MSV) at Flos Road Three East and Phelpston Road in Springwater Township. Officers engaged in an impaired operation investigation after a driver displayed signs of impairment. As a result, Gregory FLUNEY, 46-year-old of Barrie, was arrested and has been charged with the following:

·      Adult Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

·      Adult Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

Brodie FERGUSON – Drunk Driving

(SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual with prohibited driving and impaired driving related charges.

On January 27, 2025, at approximately 8:33 a.m., Huronia West OPP officers responded to a suspicious vehicle in the area of Bayfield Street North in Springwater Township. Officers located the vehicle and while engaging with the driver, the officer noticed the driver showing signs of impairment which led into an impaired driving investigation. As a result, Brodie FERGUSON, 26-year-old of Collingwood, was arrested and has been charged with the following:

·      Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)

·      Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code

More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIP, CLEARVIEW TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged three individuals with impaired driving related charges over the last few days.

On January 24, 2025, at approximately 12:14 a.m., Huronia West OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint of a possible impaired driver in the area of Simcoe Street in Clearview Township. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. After noticing an odour of alcohol, officers administered a roadside Alcohol Screening Device (ASD) on the driver. As a result, Martin FRANSSEN, 41-year-old of Clearview Township, was arrested and has been charged with the following:

·      Adult Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

On January 25, 2025, at approximately 2:52 p.m., Huronia West OPP officers were conducting a RIDE spot check on Old Second Street North in Springwater Township. Officers administered a roadside Alcohol Screening Device (ASD) on the driver after the driver displayed signs of impairment. As a result, Frank WILLIAMS, 50-year-old of Springwater Township, was arrested and has been charged with the following:

·      Adult Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

On January 26, 2025, at approximately 9:14 p.m., Huronia West OPP officers were requested for assistance locating a vehicle involved in a motor vehicle collision that occurred in Collingwood. Officers were able to locate the vehicle on Highway 26 near Stayner after the vehicle left the scene in Collingwood. Officers engaged in an impaired operation investigation after the driver displayed signs of impairment. Officers administered a roadside Alcohol Screening Device (ASD) on the driver. As a result, Cole TORRIE, 26-year-old of Chatsworth, was arrested and has been charged with the following:

·      Adult Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

·      Adult Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

·      Adult Failure to stop after accident

35 Year Old Arrested For Drunk Driving

(SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual with impaired driving related charges.

On January 15, 2025, at approximately 10:25 a.m., Huronia West OPP officers were conducting general patrols in Springwater Township, in the area of County Road 90. The officer was alerted to speeding motorist and conducted a traffic stop.

While engaging with the driver, the officer noticed the driver showing signs of impairment which led into an impaired driving investigation. As a result, Tristan BATTLER SHAULE, 35-year-old of Barrie, was arrested and has been charged with the following:

MUSACK – Drunk Driving

(SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual with impaired driving related charges because of a traffic tip.

On January 8, 2025, at approximately 12:30 p.m., Huronia West OPP officers responded to a traffic tip of a possible impaired driver on South Orr Lake Road, heading eastbound towards Hillsdale.

At approximately 12:57 p.m., officers attended the location and observed the vehicle with all four tires off the ground, on top of a snowbank on the edge of a driveway. Officers noticed an odour of alcohol on the driver’s breath which led into an impaired driving investigation. As a result, Dale MUSACK, 49-year-old of Springwater Township, was arrested and has been charged with the following:

·      Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol and Drugs

·      Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)

Fatal Collision

(SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a fatal three vehicle collision in Springwater Township.

On November 18, 2024, at approximately 6:30 a.m., members of the Huronia West OPP with assistance of Springwater Fire and Simcoe County EMS responded to a report of a serious collision involving three vehicles on Penetanguishene Road (Highway 93).

Sadly, as a result of the collision, a 46-year-old driver was confirmed deceased on scene by EMS. A 25-year-old driver in one of the other involved vehicles was transported to a local hospital as a precaution with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was released at the scene after being assessed by EMS with minor injuries.

A section of Penetanguishene Road (Highway 93) was closed for several hours while OPP members trained in collision reconstruction measured and documented the scene. The road has since been reopened.

The investigation is ongoing.

(SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual with impaired driving after a single vehicle collision.

On November 26, 2024, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Huronia West OPP officers responded to a single vehicle collision in Springwater Township. Officers located the vehicle on Crossland Road north of County Road 92, where they conducted an impaired driving investigation. As a result, Cassidy Lynn EMMETT, 29-year-old of Wasaga Beach, was arrested and has been charged with the following:

·      Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
