Another Home Invasion Thwarted By Hero Resident #StandYourGround

 (BRADFORD, ON) – South Simcoe Police are investigating a home invasion that occurred in Bradford West Gwillimbury on Monday, February 3, 2025. At approximately 9:29 a.m., South Simcoe Police responded to a residence in the Toronto Street and Hurd Street area of Bradford West Gwillimbury for report of a break and enter.

Through the investigation, it was determined that a home invasion had occurred. Four suspects arrived in a silver Kia Forte that parked in a neighbour’s driveway. The four suspects, one armed with a crowbar, entered the home by smashing two windows.  Upon entering the home, two suspects were confronted by a resident, which resulted in the suspects fleeing from the home. There were no physical injuries reported at the time of the incident.

South Simcoe Police have obtained photos of the suspects and vehicle and are releasing the following images to assist with the investigation. Photos (5) attached.

SSPS Daily Update 27Jan2025

(BRADFORD/INNISFIL, ON) – On Saturday, January 25, 2025, at approximately 4:05 p.m., South Simcoe Police received a report of a single vehicle collision that occurred in the area of Sideroad 20 in the Town of Innisfil. The incident involved a grey Ford Edge that was reported driving off the roadway. Upon arrival, South Simcoe Police officers conducted the investigation and the driver, a 42-year-old female from Innisfil, Ontario, was arrested and charged with Operation while impaired, and Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (over 80). Her licence was suspended for 90 days, and her vehicle was impounded. She is scheduled to appear in court on February 13, 2025.

Later that day, at approximately 7:25 p.m., South Simcoe Police responded to the area of Holland Street West in Bradford West Gwillimbury for report of a vehicle on the road and a female asking for assistance. Through investigation, South Simcoe Police officers determined that the driver of a brown Chevrolet Malibu was impaired by alcohol and had been involved in a physical altercation with an individual that occurred prior to officers arriving on scene. The involved individuals were known to each other. As a result of the investigation, a 58-year-old female from Severn Bridge, Ontario, was arrested and charged with Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (over 80), and assault. Her licence was suspended for 90 days, and her vehicle was impounded. She is scheduled to appear in court on February 13, 2025.

Road safety is a shared responsibility, and it depends on the decisions you make. Impaired driving is a crime in progress. Do not drive if you will be consuming alcohol or cannabis and be sure to plan ahead to ensure you have a safe ride to and from your destination. Anyone who witnesses a suspected impaired driver is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately.

SSPS Daily Update 20Jan205

 (Bradford, ON) – On Sunday, January 19, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m., South Simcoe Police responded to a report of a robbery at a business in the area of Holland Street in Bradford West Gwillimbury. Through the investigation, South Simcoe Police officers determined that a male suspect attended the store and produced a black folding knife. The male threatened the store employee and made a demand for money. The employee refused and the suspect eventually fled the store with stolen goods. The store employee was not harmed and did not report any injuries. South Simcoe Police officers along with canine located the suspect a short distance away. As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old-male from Bradford West Gwillimbury was arrested and charged with:

  • Robbery
  • Fail to Comply with Undertaking
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Carry Concealed Weapon
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Disguise with Intent

The accused was held for bail hearing.

SOUTH SIMCOE POLICE ARREST AND CHARGE A MALE DRIVER FROM CAMBRIDGE WITH IMPAIRED DRIVING

(Innisfil, ON) – On January 19, 2025, at approximately 5:20 p.m., South Simcoe Police officers responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on the 6th Line in the Town of Innisfil. Police arrived on scene and observed a male walking into the ditch towards the vehicle. As part of the investigation, South Simcoe Police officers spoke with the male and determined he was the driver of the vehicle. After further investigation, two breath samples were provided, indicating he had more than the legal limit of alcohol in his system. As a result, a 25-year-old-male from Cambridge, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (over 80)

The accused was released with a future court date.
