Mark COPE – Drunk Driving

(SHELBURNE, ON) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Dundalk resident with impaired operation related offences as the result of a traffic stop.

On October 12, 2024, at approximately 1:45 a.m., Dufferin OPP officers were conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Main Street and Owen Sound Street in the Town of Shelburne. Officers noted a vehicle which was not able to maintain their lane and conducted a traffic stop. After a brief conversation the officers were quickly led to an impaired driving investigation.

Mark COPE, a 34-year-old male, from Dundalk has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•      Drive motor vehicle – no licence

•      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

•      Fail to surrender insurance card

•      Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licence was suspended 90 days, and their vehicle impounded for 7 days.

The Dufferin OPP reminds motorists to plan ahead when consuming alcohol or drugs. Use a designated driver, cab, rideshare, public transit or stay overnight. Any amount of alcohol or drugs can impact your ability to make sound judgements. Daniel HENDERSON – Drunk Driving

(SHELBURNE, ON) – Officers from the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver involved in a single motor vehicle collision with impaired operation.

On August 1, 2024, just before 10:00 p.m., Dufferin OPP responded to a single motor vehicle collision on 4th Line, in the Town of Shelburne. No injuries were reported. During the investigation, officers formed grounds that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested.

As a result, Daniel HENDERSON, 38, of Mulmur, was charged with:

• Operation while impaired – alcohol

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville to answer to the charges. The driver’s licence was also suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle impounded for seven.

Drug Bust – Matthew TSIMINOS Arrested

(SHELBURNE, ON) – Officers from the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) seized a quantity of drugs and charged an individual after conducting a search warrant at a residence in the Town of Shelburne.

On July 19, 2024, members of the Dufferin Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), along with Caledon and Nottawasaga CSCU executed a search warrant at a home in Shelburne. The search warrant resulted in the arrest of one male who is facing multiple charges. In addition, the officers seized a quantity of various drug related items. 

Matthew TSIMINOS, a 39-year-old from Shelburne has been charged with:

·        Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

·        Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada

·        Adult Breach of Conditional Sentence Order

The following property was seized:

·        Cash

·        Cocaine

·        Replica handgun

·        Cell phones

·        Drug trafficking indicia

 The accused individual was held for a Bail Hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville as he was breaching his conditional sentence. The male was also wanted by Barrie Police and Nottawasaga OPP on unrelated charges.

Mitcho BOGLIS Was Arrested

(SHELBURNE, ON) – Members from the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual as a result of break and enter to a restaurant on Main Street in the Town of Shelburne.

On April 29, 2024, shortly after 1:00 a.m., Dufferin OPP responded to the report of a break and enter at a local restaurant in Shelburne. Upon arrival, police noted the rear door ajar and broken wine bottles inside the establishment. The investigation revealed the suspect stole alcohol.

Officers reviewed security footage and were able to identify the male suspect. The suspect was charged accordingly and released from police custody.

A few hours later officers responded to a second break and enter to the same address. After reviewing video surveillance, the suspect was confirmed to be the same male police charged earlier that day. The investigation confirmed the male stole alcohol again.

As a result of the two investigations, Mitcho BOGLIS, 70-year-old from Shelburne has been charged with:

·      Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence – (two counts)

·      Theft Under $5000 – (two counts)

·      Failure to comply with undertaking
