Drug Bust At RIDE – Meghan MACDONALD

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – The Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged three local residents following an incident involving a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) spot check in the Town of Shelburne.

On February 17, 2026, just after 12:00 a.m., Dufferin OPP A Platoon officers were conducting a RIDE spot check in the area of Owen Sound Street in the Town of Shelburne when they observed a black SUV allegedly attempting to evade the checkpoint. Officers located the vehicle moments later. Upon conducting the traffic stop, officers discovered drug paraphernalia, which led to a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act investigation.

Meghan MACDONALD, a 48-year-old female from Shelburne, has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of unmarked cigarettes
  • Consuming liquor in an unauthorized place

Additionally, a 47-year-old male from Shelburne and a 49-year-old male from Mono were released at the scene, both receiving numerous Provincial Offences Notices.

Mandeep SINGH – Drunk Driving

(COCHRANE, ON) – The James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a commercial driver following an impaired driving investigation that began during a proactive traffic stop on Highway 11.

On January 26, 2026, at approximately 8:30 p.m., James Bay OPP officers conducted a traffic stop on a commercial motor vehicle parked beside a posted “No Parking” sign in the westbound lane of Highway 11 West. While speaking with the driver, officers observed an open can of alcoholic beverage in the cup holder, along with several unopened cans of alcohol within reach.

The driver was arrested and transported to the Cochrane OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Mandeep SINGH, 28 years of age, of Shelburne, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available

·        Having care or control of a motor vehicle with an open container of alcohol

·        Disobey sign

·        Interfere with traffic

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on March 10, 2026, in Cochrane. The driver was issued a 90‑day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the tractor unit was impounded for seven days.

Drug Bust – GALBRAITH, MANN-MAXWORTH, Jack GRANT & REDFORD

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged four local residents following a traffic stop by keen-eyed officers.

On January 17, 2026, at approximately 1:40 a.m., officers from the Dufferin OPP were conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Fourth Avenue in the Town of Orangeville when they observed a motor vehicle commit a Highway Traffic Act infraction. Officers initiated a traffic stop, and during the interaction, quickly developed grounds to initiate a drug trafficking investigation.

Ryan GALBRAITH, a 28-year-old male from Orangeville, has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid (other than heroin)
  • Improper number plate light
  • Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

Cory MANN-MAXWORTH, a 32-year-old male from Shelburne, has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid (other than heroin)

Jack GRANT, a 29-year-old male from Caledon, has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid (other than heroin)
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Carrying a concealed weapon

Ashley REDFORD, a 23-year-old male from Orangeville, has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid (other than heroin)

  • Three iPhones
  • Cutting agent
  • Collapsible baton
  • Cannabis
  • Spoon with drug residue
  • Three glass crack pipes with residue
  • Small plastic bags
  • Red and silver scale with white residue

  • Black satchel
  • Psilocybin

The accused individuals are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville.

Ankitkumar PATEL – Drunk Driving

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged several individuals with impaired operation-related offences following multiple incidents across Dufferin County.

On January 6, 2026, shortly before 9:00 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers received a report of a motor vehicle collision that had occurred earlier that evening. Both drivers involved attended the Orangeville Detachment to speak with officers. After speaking with both drivers, officers observed signs of impairment during their interaction with one of the drivers and subsequently initiated an impaired driving investigation.

Ankitkumar PATEL, a 38-year-old male from Shelburne, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand

On January 9, 2026, just before 7:45 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers received a traffic complaint in the area of County Road 109 in the Township of East Garafraxa. Officers conducted patrols in the area and subsequently located the vehicle on Riddell Road in the Town of Orangeville. A traffic stop was initiated, and following a brief interaction with the driver, officers commenced an impaired driving investigation.

Kuljit SAHOTA, a 39-year-old male from Brampton, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

On January 12, 2026, shortly after 3:15 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers were dispatched to the area of Broadway in response to a report of a motor vehicle collision that had occurred in a parking lot. Upon arrival, officers were informed that the other driver was possibly impaired by alcohol. Following an interaction with the driver, officers initiated an impaired driving investigation.

Dylan LAFLEUR, a 24-year-old male from Guelph, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available

The accused individuals are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. As a result of the incidents, the drivers’ licences were suspended for 90 days, and the vehicles were impounded for seven days.

5 More Impaired Drivers Arrested – OMILEYE, BOATENG, PERSAUD, FAIRHALL & COHEN

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged five local residents with impaired-operation-related offences over the past six days. The OPP is reminding the public that this is unacceptable driving behaviour and poses serious risks to everyone on the road.

On December 6, 2025, just before 2:15 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers received a complaint regarding a suspicious vehicle in the area of Princess Street in the Town of Orangeville. Officers were able to locate the vehicle, conduct a traffic stop, and subsequently initiate an impaired driving investigation.

Sijuade OMILEYE, a 29-year-old male from Orangeville, has been charged with:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

• Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

On December 7, 2025, just before 1:00 a.m., Dufferin OPP officers were conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Mono-Amaranth Townline and 30 Sideroad in the Town of Mono. Officers conducted a traffic stop and subsequently initiated an impaired driving investigation.

Maxwell BOATENG, a 42-year-old male from Shelburne, has been charged with:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

On December 7, 2025, just before 2:00 a.m., Dufferin OPP officers were dispatched to a single-vehicle collision near Highway 10 and County Road 10 in the Town of Mono, where the vehicle had ended up in a ditch and the driver was found asleep behind the wheel. Officers subsequently launched an impaired driving investigation.

Umadat PERSAUD, a 34-year-old male from Dundalk, has been charged with:

• Failure or refusal to comply with demand

• Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

• Use plate not authorized for vehicle

• Possess more than one licence

• Use plate not in accordance with regulations

• Obstruct peace officer

• Fail to surrender insurance card

• Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

• Careless driving

On December 8, 2025, just before 6:15 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers were dispatched to a two-vehicle collision at 2nd Line Southwest and the 280 Sideroad in the Township of Melancthon. Upon arrival, officers observed three vehicles in the ditch. After speaking with the drivers, officers launched an impaired driving investigation.

Joshua FAIRHALL, a 42-year-old male from Shelburne, has been charged with:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

• Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

On December 11, 2025, just before 11:30 a.m., Dufferin OPP officers were dispatched to a single-motor-vehicle collision in which a vehicle had collided with a snowbank in the area of Jane Street and Owen Sound Street in the Town of Shelburne. Upon arrival and after speaking with the driver, officers launched an impaired driving investigation.

Nash COHEN, a 55-year-old male from Shelburne, has been charged with:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

• Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licence was suspended 90 days, and their vehicle impounded for 7 days.

Harlive GREWAL Was Arrested

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Shelburne, Ontario resident with Prohibited Driving along with other offences following a traffic complaint on October 30, 2025. 

On Thursday, October 30, just after 8:30 a.m., Huron County OPP officers received a complaint of a disabled pickup truck with a utility trailer on London Road, near Londesborough, in the Municipality of Central Huron.  

Officers attended the scene and confirmed that the male driver was prohibited from driving under the Criminal Code and was subsequently placed under arrest and taken into custody.

Harlive GREWAL, 27 years-of-age from Shelburne has been charged with:

–      Operation while Prohibited.

The accused was additionally charged with six offences found in the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).

The pickup truck and trailer were towed and impounded for 45 days.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for December 08, 2025, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Nicholas PAVLOFF – Drunk Driving

(GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – On November 12, 2025, at approximately 11:40 p.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E) at the intersection of Toronto Street and Highland Drive, in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

A vehicle entered the checkpoint where police then spoke with the driver. The investigating officer detected signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and transported for further testing.

Nicholas PAVLOFF, 33-year-old of Shelburne, was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

·      Operation while impaired

·      Operation while impaired- B.A.C. 80 plus

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on December 4, 2025.

5 Drivers Pulled From Dufferin Roads in OPP Crackdown (Sept 19–29)

Arvindpal DHILLON, a 44-year-old male from Shelburne, has been charged with:

Asdrubal SIBAJA BURKE, a 26-year-old male from North York, has been charged with:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

• Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

Another Fatal Collision

(SHELBURNE, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a fatal collision on Highway 10 in Shelburne.

On Saturday, June 28, 2025, at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers from the Dufferin Detachment of the OPP responded to a collision on Highway 10, between Highway 89 and 30 Side Road, involving two SUVs.

As a result, the driver of one of the SUVs, a 55-year-old from Mississauga, is deceased. Three others were taken to hospital with minor and serious injuries.

Dufferin County Paramedic Service, Shelburne and District Fire Department, the Ministry of Transportation, and OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionist attended the scene to assist with the investigation.

(SHELBURNE, ON) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an Orton resident with impaired operation related offences as the result of a traffic complaint.

On March 31, 2025, just before 3:30 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers were dispatched to the area of Centre Street in the Town of Shelburne for a female who was believed to be impaired behind the wheel of a motor vehicle. Officers were able to locate the accused shortly thereafter. After a brief conversation, the officers quickly identified signs that led them to initiate an impaired driving investigation.

A vehicle entered the area and was met by the officers. After a brief conversation, the officers were quickly led to an impaired driving investigation.

Patrick LATOUR, a 49-year-old male, from Shelburne has been charged with:

(SHELBURNE, ON) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Shelburne resident with impaired operation related offences as the result of a R.I.D.E. program.

On November 18, 2024, at approximately 11:15 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers were conducting a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) spot check in the area of Victoria Street in the Town of Shelburne. A vehicle entered the area and was met by the officers. After a brief conversation, the officers were quickly led to an impaired driving investigation.

Cameron YOUNG, a 41-year-old male, from Shelburne has been charged with:

•      Failure or refusal to comply with demand

•      Fail to surrender insurance card

•      Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

•      Possess unmarked cigarettes

The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licence was suspended 90 days, and their vehicle impounded for 7 days.

The Dufferin OPP reminds motorists to plan ahead when consuming alcohol or drugs. Use a designated driver, cab, rideshare, public transit or stay overnight. Any amount of alcohol or drugs can impact your ability to make sound judgements. Samantha HACKSON – Impaired Driving

(SHELBURNE, ON) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an Orangeville resident with impaired operation related offences as the result of a traffic complaint.

On October 29, 2024, just after 2:00 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers were dispatched to a traffic complain in the area of Col. Phillips Drive in the Town of Shelburne. The officers located the vehicle and were quickly led into an impaired by drug investigation.

Samantha HACKSON, a 39-year-old female, from Orangeville has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

 •     Poss of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid (other than heroin)

The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licence was suspended 90 days, and their vehicle impounded for 7 days.
