Amal NAHAS & Lindsay THOMPSON Were Arrested

(RENFREW, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested two people in Renfrew following a Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) seizure of ketamine.

CBSA border services officers detected a substance, which tested positive for ketamine, while examining a shipment at the International Mail Processing Centre in the Greater Toronto Area. They contacted the OPP and provided information regarding the package which contained over six kilograms of the powerful dissociative anesthetic used legally in both human and veterinary medicine.

On Tuesday, February 24, 2026, the OPP East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and CBSA executed a search warrant at a residence on Maloney Road.

Two people were arrested without incident and officers seized the suspected ketamine, as well as approximately six grams of suspected cocaine and a quantity of suspected methamphetamine. They also seized approximately $1300 in cash, a collapsible baton and items typically associated with drug trafficking.

Amal NAHAS, age 35, and Lindsay THOMPSON, age 47, both of Renfrew, have each been charged with:

  • Possession of Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – three counts
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon

NAHAS is also charged with importing a Schedule 1 substance.

Both of the accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on April 1, 2026.

Robert SLEMKO Was Arrested Again

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person after responding to an assault call.

On Monday, February 16, 2025, at approximately 4:00 p.m., Renfrew OPP officers responded to an assault call for service in the Township of Horton. 

As a result of the investigation, Robert SLEMKO age 66 of Horton Township was charged with:

–      Two counts of assault with a weapon

–      Two counts of uttering threats- to cause death or bodily harm

–      Two counts of failure to comply with probation order  

The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Daniel GASS – Drunk Driving

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person after responding to traffic complaint in the Town of Renfrew.

On Monday, February 16, 2026, at approximately 6:55 p.m., Renfrew OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint in the Town of Renfrew.

The vehicle was located by officers traveling on Calabogie Road in Greater Madawaska Township.  A traffic stop was initiated.

As a result of the investigation, Daniel GASS age 38 of Greater Madawaska Township was charged with:

–      Operation while impaired- alcohol

–      Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)  

The accused was released and scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on March 18, 2026.

Ethan WARBURTON – Drunk Driving

 – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person after responding to single motor vehicle collision.

On Monday, February 9, 2026, at approximately 9:50 p.m., Renfrew OPP officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision in Whitewater Region Township. 

As a result of the investigation, Ethan WARBURTON age 27 of Whitewater Region Township was charged with:

–      Operation while impaired- alcohol

–      Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)  

The accused was released and scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on March 11, 2026.

Craig GREATREX – Drunk Driving

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person after conducting a reduce impaired driving everywhere (R.I.D.E) in the Town of Arnprior.

On Sunday, February 8, 2026, at approximately 12:50 a.m., Renfrew OPP officers were conducting a R.I.D.E initiative in the Town of Arnprior. 

As a result of a traffic stop, Craig GREATREX age 46 of Arnprior was charged with:

–      Operation while impaired- alcohol

–      Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)  

The accused was released and scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on March 4, 2026.

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person after a traffic stop leads to criminal charges.

On Saturday, February 7, 2026, at approximately 9:20 p.m., Renfrew OPP officers conducted a traffic stop in McNab/Braeside Township. 

As a result of the investigation, Dana PEARCE age 25 of Pembroke was charged with:

–      Three counts failure to comply with release order

–      Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-cocaine  

The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Ronald BERUBE Was Arrested

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person after responding to a motor vehicle collision.

On Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at approximately 7:10 p.m., Renfrew OPP officers responded in a motor vehicle collision involving a snowmobile in the Town of Renfrew. 

As a result of the investigation, Ronald BERUBE age 61 of Renfrew was charged with operation while prohibited.   

The accused was released and scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on February 25, 2026.

2 Dead Following Collision

(MCNAB/BRAESIDE, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a two-vehicle collision that resulted in two fatalities on Highway 17.

On Saturday, January 31, 2026, shortly after 1:00 p.m. officers responded to reports of a head-on collision involving a pickup truck and another passenger vehicle on Highway 17 between Anderson Road and McCallum Drive, in the Township of McNab/Braeside.

Both the drivers, a 55-year-old male from Renfrew and a 71-year-old male from Ottawa were pronounced deceased.

Highway 17 will remain closed between Anderson Road and Goshen Road for several hours for the ongoing investigation.

Lucas POWELL Was Arrested

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person after responding to a motor vehicle collision.

On Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at approximately 12:30 a.m., Renfrew OPP officers responded in a motor vehicle collision in the Town of Renfrew. 

As a result of the investigation, Lucas POWELL age 19 of Renfrew was charged with:

–      Resist peace officer

–      Operation while impaired- alcohol

–      Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)   

The accused was released and scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on February 18, 2026.

On Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at approximately 5:50 p.m., Renfrew OPP responded to a shoplifting call for service in the Town of Renfrew.

As a result of the investigation, Ian HOPPER age 50 of Petawawa was charged with,

–      Theft under $5000- Shoplifting

–      Two counts of fail to comply with probation order

Larry DUFORD Was Arrested Following Collision

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person after responding to a motor vehicle collision.

On Sunday, January 18, 2026, at approximately 11:15 p.m., Renfrew OPP officers responded to a motor vehicle collision in the Township of Horton. 

As a result of the investigation, Larry DUFORD age 63 of Calabogie was charged with:

Jack WATSON Was Arrested

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one people after officers responded to a traffic complaint in McNab/Braeside Township.

On Friday, January 16, 2026, at approximately 7:20 p.m., Renfrew OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint on the ice in McNab/Braeside Township. Officers were advised of a motor vehicle driving dangerously on the ice surface.

As a result of the investigation, Jack WATSON age 27 of Ottawa was charged with:

–      Failure or refusal to comply with demand   

–      Operation while prohibited

–      Dangerous Operation

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person after responding to an assault call.

On Tuesday, January 13, 2025, at approximately 3:30 a.m., Renfrew OPP officers responded to an assault call for service in the Town of Renfrew. 

As a result of the investigation, Jasmine PEARCE age 24 of Renfrew was charged with assault.

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person after responding to a threats call in the Town of Renfrew.

On Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at approximately 2:00 p.m., Renfrew OPP responded to a threats call for service in the Town of Renfrew.

As a result of the investigation, Scott SAUNDERS age 62 of Renfrew was charged with, two counts of utter threats- cause death or bodily harm.
