Joshua MADDIGAN Facing Numerous Charges

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid impaired driving charges after a traffic stop.

On Saturday, January 3, 2026, at approximately 7:30 p.m., the Quinte West OPP conducted a traffic stop, the driver was arrested and transported to detachment for further testing.

Joshua MADDIGAN, age 39, from Frankford, was charged with:

•               Operation while impaired – drugs

•               Operation while impaired – blood drug concentration

•               Possession of schedule I substance – Cocaine

•               Driving a motor vehicle with open container of liquor

•               Drive motor vehicle without insurance

•               Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on January 22, 2026.

Jacob VALE – Drunk Driving, Etc.

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid an impaired driving charge.

On Friday, December 12, 2025, at approximately 10:00 p.m., the Quinte West OPP conducted a traffic stop which resulted in an arrest and multiple charges.

Jacob VALE, age 23, from Trenton, was charged with:

•               Operation while impaired – alcohol

•               Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•               Drive – No insurance

•               Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

•               Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

•               Speeding – 1-49km/h over the posted limit

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on January 8, 2025.

Austin COONEY & Daniel VANCLIEF Were Arrested

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – Two people face trafficking charges after a drug seizure in Quinte West.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) began an investigation earlier this year into drug trafficking in the area of downtown Trenton. 

On Friday, December 19, 2025, officers with CSCU, assisted by members of the OPP Emergency Response Team and members of the Quinte West Detachment, executed a search warrant at an apartment on Creswell Drive.

Officers seized over 32 grams of suspected fentanyl, more than 2.5 grams of suspected cocaine and more than two grams of suspected crack cocaine, as well as cash and items typically associated with drug trafficking. Two people were arrested without incident.

Austin COONEY, age 30 and Daniel VANCLIEF, age 53, both from Quinte West, have each been charged with:

  • Possession of Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – two counts
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Fail to comply with a probation order

The accused were held for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville to be held on Friday, December 19, 2025.

James YONG Was Arrested Again #3Strikes

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – One person is facing charges after a stolen vehicle was recovered on the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 in South Dundas.

On Wednesday, December 17, 2025, shortly after 4:00 p.m., a member of the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver for operating a with a suspended licence.

The officer determined that the vehicle had been reported stolen in the Peel Region and that the licence plates were fakes.

James YONG, age 62 of the Toronto area has been charged with:

  • Theft of a vehicle
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Trafficking in stolen good over $5000
  • Possession of break-in instruments
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Obstructing a licence plate
  • Fraudulent concealment
  • Failing to comply with a probation order

The accused was remanded in custody following a bail hearing on Thursday, December 18, 2025, and is scheduled to appear again before the Ontario court of Justice in Cornwall on Friday, December 19, 2025.

4 Arrested In Drug Bust – Names Released

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – Four people are facing charges after a seizure of drugs and other items in Quinte West.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) began an investigation into drug trafficking in the area in October.

On Tuesday, December 2, 2025, officers with CSCU, assisted by the OPP Emergency Response Team members, the Canine Unit and Quinte West OPP members, executed search warrants at residences on Catherine Street and Telephone Road.

Four Quinte West residents were taken into custody. Officers seized nearly 90 grams of suspected cocaine, as well as oxycodone. They also seized a prohibited firearm and ammunition, as well as items associated with drug trafficking, and $250 in cash. (photo attached)

Joseph CASSIBO, age 30, has been charged with:

  • Possession of schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

This accused was remanded in custody, and a bail hearing is scheduled to continue before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on December 9, 2025.

Ashley AUSTIN, age 27, has been charged with:

  • Possession of schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Failure to comply with a release order

Patricia ARNOLD, age 39, has been charged with unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm.

Steven AUGER, age 39, has been charged with:

  • Traffick in a Schedule 1 substance
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm

These three accused were released on conditions and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on January 5, 2026.

Matthew SAUNDERS Was Arrested

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid impaired driving charges following an incident in the city.

On Friday, November 28, 2025, at approximately 10:00 a.m., officers responded to reports of a vehicle parked in an intersection. The driver was arrested and brought to the detachment for testing.

Matthew SAUNDERS, age 41, from Quinte West, was charged with operation while impaired by drug.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on December 18, 2025. The vehicle was impounded for seven days, and their license suspended for 90 days.

Adesh GREWAL, age 26, from Stoney Creek, was charged with: 

•               Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

•               Operation while impaired – Blood alcohol concentrations (80plus)

•               Speeding 1 – 49 km/h over posted limit

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on December 18, 2025.

Cash & Drug Bust – Jordan LALONDE, Valerie MERCER & Robert RICHARDSON

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – Three people are facing charges after a seizure of drugs and other items in Quinte West.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) began an investigation into drug trafficking in the area this fall.

On Wednesday, November 19, 2025, officers with CSCU, assisted by the OPP Emergency Response Team members, the Canine Unit and Quinte West OPP members, executed search warrants at residences on York Crescent and Alberta Street.

Two people were taken into custody. Officers seized over 24 grams of suspected fentanyl, over 95 grams of suspected cocaine, as well as more than 300 pills of suspected hydromorphone and benzimidazole. They also seized items associated with drug trafficking and nearly $11,000 in cash. A third person was arrested a short time later.

Jordan LALONDE, age 36 of Quinte West, has been charged with:

  • Possession of Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – four counts
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Fail to comply with a release order

This accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville at a later date.

Valerie MERCER, age 22 of Quinte West, has been charged with:

  • Possession of Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – three counts
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000

This accused remains in custody pending an ongoing bail hearing process.

Robert RICHARDSON, age 47 of Quinte West, has been charged with:

  • Possession of Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – four counts
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Fail to comply with a probation order – two counts

This accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on Thursday, November 27, 2025.

Byron REININGER & Amber GREATHOUSE – Impaired Driving

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid impaired driving charges in two separate investigations.

On Sunday, November 23, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m., the Quinte West OPP responded to a collision, the driver was arrested for being impaired.

Byron REININGER, age 22, from Trenton, was charged with:

•               Operation while impaired – alcohol

•               Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•               Fail to have insurance card

•               Having care or control of motor vehicle with open container of liquor

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on December 18, 2025. The vehicle was impounded for seven days, and their license suspended for 90 days.

Later that same evening, Sunday, November 23, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m., the Quinte West OPP responded to another collision, the driver was located a short time later and arrested for being impaired.

Amber GREATHOUSE, age 29, from Thunder Bay, was charged with:

•        Operation while impaired – drugs

•        Dangerous operation

 The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on December 18, 2025. The vehicle was impounded for seven days, and their license suspended for 90 days.

More Impaired Drivers – Joanne KING & Pierre COUTURE

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid impaired driving charges in two separate investigations.

On Thursday, November 20, 2025, at approximately 8:30 a.m., the Quinte West OPP located a vehicle involved in a traffic complaint, the driver was found to be impaired and operating a stolen vehicle.

Pierre COUTURE, age 63, from Quebec, was charged with: 

•               Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

•               Theft of motor vehicle

•               Possession property obtained by crime over $5000

•               Drive- hand held communication device

•               Drive motor vehicle, fail to display two plates

•               Drive motor vehicle – no licence

•               Change lane – not in safety

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on December 18, 2025.

Later that same morning, Thursday, November 20, 2025, at approximately 11:00 a.m., the Quinte West OPP responded to a fail to remain motor vehicle collision another traffic complaint causing an accident, the driver was located a short time later and arrested      .

Joanne KING, age 54, from Frankford, was charged with:         

•        Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

•        Dangerous operation

•        Fail to remain

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on December 18, 2025. The vehicle was impounded for seven days, and their licence suspended for 90 days.

On Saturday, November 15, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., the Quinte West OPP conducted a traffic stop for speeding, the driver was arrested for impaired.

Sean MCCORMACK, age 38, from Oshawa, was charged with:

•               Speeding 1-49 km/h over posted limit

•               Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

•               Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on December 4, 2025. The vehicle was impounded for seven days, and their license suspended for 90 days.

On Sunday, November 16, 2025, at approximately 3:00 a.m., the Quinte West OPP were conducting R.I.D.E., an approved screening device was utilized and the driver arrested for impaired.

Jordan LINDSAY-CAMPBELL, age 30, from Tyendinaga, was charged with:

•        Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

•        Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

•        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on December 4, 2025. The vehicle was impounded for seven days, and their license suspended for 90 days.

On Monday, November 17, 2025, at approximately 1:00 a.m., the Quinte West OPP conducted a traffic stop for a Highway Traffic Act infraction, the driver was arrested for impaired.

Peyton STOREY, age 32, from Clarington, was charged with:

•               Obstruct plate

•               Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available

•               Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

•               Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•               Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition

Jerry DOMOND Was Arrested Again #3Strikes

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has recovered a stolen vehicle and arrested an individual following a traffic stop.

On Saturday, October 25, 2025, at approximately 8:00 a.m., Quinte West OPP were alerted to a stolen vehicle moving through the area, being tracked by an installed GPS.

The vehicle was intercepted on highway 401, and an occupant was arrested. The vehicle was returned to its rightful owner.

Jerry DOMOND, age 44 from Quebec, was charged with:

  •              Theft of motor vehicle
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  •              Possession of a device for the purpose of committing theft
  •              Possession of a Schedule 1 substance – cocaine
  •              Mischief under $5,000
  •      Fail to comply with probation order

The accused was remanded in custody following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville, Ontario.

Selena RUTTAN – Impaired Driving, Etc.

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges in an impaired driving investigation.

On Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at approximately 1:00 a.m., a traffic complaint led Quinte West OPP to suspect a motorist may be under the influence of alcohol.

An approved alcohol screening device was utilized, the driver was arrested and transported to the Quinte West Detachment for further testing.

Selena RUTTAN, age 20, from Frankford, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Novice Driver – Blood Alcohol Concentration above zero
  • Young Driver – Blood Alcohol Concentration above zero
  • Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
  • Fail to remain

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on November 13, 2025. The vehicle was impounded for seven days, and their license suspended for 90 days.

Kyle PETERSON – Break & Enter, Theft

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following a break in Trenton.

On October 22, 2025, at approximately 01:00 a.m., Quinte West OPP responded to a break and enter in progress at the Cascades facility on Marmora Street. Police received information that several persons were attempting to steal wiring from the facility. One individual was apprehended by security staff and taken into custody by police.

Kyle PETERSON, 41 years-old from Trenton has been charged with the following offences:

  • Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offense
  • Mischief – destroys or damages property
  • Theft Under $5000

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario court of Justice in Belleville.

The investigation in ongoing.
