Meth Bust – Repeat Offender Arrested Again

(HURON EAST, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Seaforth resident with Possession of Methamphetamine and Failing to Comply with an Undertaking following a traffic stop in April.

On April 14, 2022, at approximately 7:57 a.m. a Huron OPP officer stopped a car on Sills Street in Seaforth and the passenger immediately took off running trying to flee. Officers recognized the passenger as being wanted so they gave chase and were able to catch up and make an arrest. 

A search incident to arrest revealed the accused was in possession of suspected methamphetamine. Additionally, it was learned the accused was failing to comply with conditions of an earlier release from custody. 

As such the accused, Gerald REID, 43 years of age from Huron East has been charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine & Failure to Comply with an Undertaking.

Overturned Tractor Trailer Closed Road Yesterday

CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has closed as section of Sharpes Creek Line (Huron County #31) following a single motor collision involving a tractor trailer. 

This afternoon at approximately 4:30 p.m. Huron OPP officers, Goderich Fire Department and Huron County Paramedic Services responded to the crash scene located on Sharpes Creek Line near Forresters Line. Upon arrival officers located a tractor trailer overturned on the west shoulder of the roadway with a load of granular fertilizer spilled into the ditch. 

The driver of the tractor trailer sustained minor injuries in the crash.

Sharpes Creek Line will be temporarily closed between Huron Road to the south and Londesboro Road to the north for vehicle removal and roadway clean-up.

The Ministry of Environment has been notified and they will be attending the scene.

Motorists should seek an alternate route to avoid delays.

23 Year Old Drunk Driver Arrested

(BRANT TWP, ON) – On May 1, 2022 at 2:49 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle along Concession 2 in Brant Township. Officers located the vehicle and found that the driver had been drinking alcohol.

Jacob WEISHAR, 23-years-old, of Culross Township was charged with Impaired Driving and Operate over 80 milligrams.

The accused will be appearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton to answer to the charges.

An impaired driving charge includes an immediate 90-day driver’s license suspension and an immediate 7-day vehicle impoundment.

Theft & Drug Bust – POLLARD & VAN Arrested

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On April 25, 2022 at 5:05 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a theft report from a business along Durham Street in Kincardine.  Officers arrived to find the described individuals were still at the business. They were both taken into custody without incident.

Amy VAN, 38-years-old, from the Municipality of Brockton, was charged with:

  • Theft under $5,000
  • 3 counts of Possess a Controlled Substance

The accused will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton to answer to the charges.

Joseph POLLARD, 33-years-old, from the Municipality of Brockton was charged with:

  • Theft under $5,000
  • 2 counts of Possess a Controlled Substance

The accused will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton to answer to the charges.

Lucknow Break & Enter – REINHART Arrested Again

(LUCKNOW, ON) – On April 27, 2022 at 9:12 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break and enter to a property along Campbell Street in Lucknow. Officers arrived and located an individual nearby who was taken into custody without incident.

Francis REINHART, 30-years-old, from the Municipality of Brockton was charged with:

  • Break and Enter
  • Theft under $5,000
  • Possession of Stolen Property
  • Fail to Comply with Probation

The accused will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton to answer to the charges.

Passed Out Behind Wheel In Listowel – Richard YANG

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – A driver from Waterloo was found asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle on a North Perth road last week.

On April 22, 2022, at approximately 10:20 a.m., a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was on general patrol travelling on Argyle Avenue in Listowel, when they observed a vehicle parked horizontally in the northbound lane. The vehicle had its reverse lights on but was sitting stationary.

The officer approached the vehicle and observed the lone occupant who appeared to be sleeping in the driver’s seat.

During the investigation, the officer determined the driver was impaired. They were arrested, and transported to a local operations centre for further testing

As a result, Richard YANG, 39, of Waterloo, has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charge.

Collision Update: Second Driver Succumbs to Injuries

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – A second person has died as a result of a collision between two passenger vehicles in North Perth on March 31, 2022.

Following the collision, one driver was transported to a local area hospital, and then was airlifted to a trauma centre, with serious injuries. They have since died from their injuries.

The deceased has been identified as Evonne BIERWORTH, 75, from Hanover.

On March 31, 2022 just after 6:30 a.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with Perth County Paramedic Services, and the North Perth Fire Department, responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision at Perth Line 86, at Perth Road 178, in the Municipality of North Perth. 

One driver died at the scene, and one passenger was also transported to hospital with serious injuries.

The West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team assisted Perth County OPP with the investigation.

Impaired Driver Arrested In Mitchell

 (WEST PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged another impaired driver in the Municipality of West Perth.

On April 27, 2022, at approximately 12:30 a.m., an officer observed a vehicle that was driving in a suspicious manner, and even stopped partially blocking a live lane of traffic, twice.

The officer conducted a traffic stop on Victoria Street in Mitchell, and determined that the driver was showing signs of impairment. The driver was placed under arrest, and transported to a local operations centre for further testing.

Issa DIALLO, 25, of Waterloo, has been charged with:

–      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

–      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

Drunk Driver From Mitchell Arrested

 (WEST PERTH, ON) – Another impaired driver has been arrested in Perth County.

On April 26, 2022, at approximately 8:30 p.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program at the intersection of Perth Line 29 and Perth Road 150, in the Municipality of West Perth.

Police spoke to a driver, and determined that they had been consuming alcohol. The driver was placed under arrest, and transported to a local operations centre where further testing was administered.

Kyle FENWICK, 42, of Mitchell, has been charged with:

–      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

Firefighter Injured – 74 Year Old Driver Charged

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – On April 21, 2022, at approximately 8:20 a.m., the North Perth Fire Department and the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a residential fire on Havelock Avenue South, in the Municipality of North Perth.

While firefighters were getting in position, a vehicle drove over a charged fire hose resulting in the firefighter being injured. They were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Ronald SMITH, 74, of Listowel has been charged with:

–      Careless driving

The accused was issued a Provincial Notice for the offence.

72 Year Old Drunk Driver Passes Fully Marked Cruiser

(PERTH EAST, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a prohibited driver for stunt driving while impaired – after they passed a fully marked police cruiser.

On April 26, 2022, just before 2:30 p.m. an officer initiated a traffic stop on Huron Road, in the Township of Perth East, after a vehicle had passed the officer at an excessive speed. The driver was found to be travelling in excess of 65km/hr over the speed limit.

During the investigation, the driver was showing signs of impairment and was arrested. They were transported to a local operations centre for further testing. The officer also learned the driver was prohibited from driving, and the licence plates attached to the vehicle were stolen.

Peter INDRILIUNAS, 72, of Southampton, has been charged with:

–      Operation while impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

–      Possession Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000

–      Operation while Prohibited Under the Criminal Code

–      Race a motor vehicle – excessive speed

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and a 45-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

Trevor WILLIAMS – Drunk Driving

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Lucan resident with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus) following a traffic stop conducted by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) last week. 

On Thursday, April 21, 2022 at approximately 2:29 a.m. members from the Huron OPP Detachment responded to a report of a station wagon that was being operated in an erratic manner traveling northbound through Lucan.   

Shortly after a Huron OPP officer was able to intercept the suspect vehicle in Exeter and a traffic stop was conducted on Huron Street West. Upon speaking with the driver the investigating officer noted the driver had consumed some alcohol. As a result the driver completed a roadside screening test and registered a “Fail”.   

Consequently the driver was placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. Two samples of breath were provided to the Intoxilizer Technician and both tests were found to be above the legal limit. 

Trevor WILLIAMS, 30 years of age from Lucan has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus). The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for May 30, 2022 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Thief Arrested In Listowel – Susane SFERRAZZA

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – A suspect has been charged after stealing from a local business in the Municipality of North Perth.

On April 22, 2022, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was called to a business on Mitchell Road South, in Listowel, after a person was witnessed shoplifting.

Susane SFERRAZZA, 44, of North Perth, has been charged with:

–      Theft Under $5000 – Shoplifting

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charge.

NEWBIGGING – Drunk Driving, Drive While Suspended

(PERTH EAST, ON) – On April 24, 2022, just before 5:00 p.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Road 116 at Line 67, in the Township of Perth East. The lone occupant received minor injuries in the collision.

135 in an 80 – Martin ANDREWS

(PERTH EAST, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Milverton driver after they were speeding more than 50 km/hr over the limit in West Perth.

On April 23, 2022, just after 10:00p.m., a police officer was conducting speed enforcement on Perth Road 119, in the Township of Perth East. The officer stopped a vehicle after it was found to be travelling in excess speed of 135km/h in an 80km/h limit zone.

Martin ANDREWS, 53, of Milverton, has been charged with:

–      Race motor vehicle – Excessive speed

A 30-day driving suspension and 14-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charge.
