Mount Forest Drug Bust – Name Released

(WELLINGTON NORTH TOWNSHIP, ON) – A Palmerston driver is charged following a traffic stop in Mount Forest.

On February 1, 2026, at approximately 7:45 p.m., a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit was conducting proactive traffic enforcement on Egremont Street North in Mount Forest, when they observed a vehicle displaying concerning driving behaviour.

As a result of the investigation, Erik FRIEDEL, a 71-year-old from Palmerston, is charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act and the Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance

Police seized suspected methamphetamine, cash and indicia related to drug trafficking.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on April 21, 2026.

MIDDLETON Arrested In Palmerston – Details Released

(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a local resident following an interaction with police.

On September 25, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m., The Wellington County OPP, responded to the report of a disturbance at a residence in Palmerston. During the interaction, an individual became uncooperative and actively resisted police.

As a result, Dallas MIDDLETON, a 29-year-old from Palmerston, was charged with:

  • Resist Peace Officer

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

22 Year Old From Palmerston Arrested

(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit lay five provincial offences to driver.

On September 13, 2025, at approximately 7:45 p.m., the Wellington County OPP Traffic Management Unit were conducting a proactive traffic enforcement initiative and noticed an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) travelling on the side of the road, with a small child within the lap of the driver. A traffic stop was initiated on King Street within Palmerston.

As a result of the investigation, a 22-year-old of Palmerston is charged under the Highway Traffic Act and the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act with:

  • Fail to ensure infant properly secured
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
  • Drive motor vehicle, no plates
  • Operate unsafe vehicle
  • Driver fail to surrender licence

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Provincial Offences Court – Guelph at a later date.
