Kiza Silve Was Arrested

(THE NATION, ON) – Members of the Russell County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested a motorist for impaired driving.

On Tuesday, October 7, at approximately 1:50 a.m., officers observed a vehicle speeding on Highway 417 in The Nation township. Officers stopped the vehicle shortly after. During the investigation an Approved Screening Device (ASD) was used, and the driver refused to provide a breath sample.

As a result of the investigation, 30-year-old, Kiza Silve, of Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec, was charged under the Criminal Code (CC), with: 

• Operation while impaired – alcohol CC

• Failure or refusal to comply with demand CC

• Mischief -obstruct, interrupts or interferes with lawful operation of property CC

• Obstruct peace officer CC

The motorist received a 90-day driver’s licence suspension, and their vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.

Gyorgy LAKATOS Arrested Again & Facing Numerous Charges #ItsTime

(GRAVENHURST, ON) – The Bracebridge detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one man in relation to several thefts in Gravenhurst.

On October 7, 2025, at 3:40 p.m. Bracebridge OPP officers responded to reports of a theft in progress at a local grocery store located on Edward Street in Gravenhurst. The store staff recognized the individual as a person who had stolen from the store previously and acted quickly. Police attended and their investigation revealed that the same suspect was responsible for a sizeable theft from another grocery store in Gravenhurst earlier that day. The same suspect is alleged to have stolen thousands of dollars of product from Gravenhurst grocery stores on September 8th and 17th, 2025.

Police have charged 59-year-old Gyorgy LAKATOS of Scarborough, ON with Theft Under $5000 X 4 and Fail to Comply with Probation X 6.  He was held in custody and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge for a bail hearing on October 9, 2025 to answer to his charges.

Kaylee ZANTINGH – Impaired Driving

(HALDIMAND COUNTY) – Impaired charge laid after police locate an individual in the driver’s seat who appeared to be sleeping.

On October 6, 2025, at approximately 2:25 p.m., while members of the Haldimand detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on foot patrol, they located the vehicle occupied by only the driver on Tamarac Street, Dunnville.

Upon speaking with the driver, it became apparent that they had consumed an intoxicating substance and testing was administered.

 Kaylee ZANTINGH, 31-years-old of Dunnville has been charged with the following:

  •  Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on November 18, 2025.

Mohamadlouay BRIJAOUI Was Arrested

(HALDIMAND COUNTY) – An individual is facing charges following a traffic stop.

On October 8, 2025, at approximately 1:35 a.m., members of the Haldimand detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a driver on Highway 6, Haldimand County.

The investigation determined that the vehicle brought attention to the police, and a traffic stop was conducted.

Mohamadlouay BRIJAOUI, 21-years-old of Hannon has been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed
  • Speeding 50+ km/h Over Posted Limit
  • Disobey Stop Sign – Fail to Stop (two counts)
  • Driver Fail to Surrender Licence

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario court of Justice in Cayuga on November 4, 2025.

Cody WHITE Was Arrested

(WEST ELGIN, ON) – One person was charged following a drug investigation and the execution of a search warrant at a home in the Municipality of West Elgin.

On Tuesday, October 7, 2025, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Elgin-Middlesex Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) executed a search warrant for a residence in the Municipality of West Elgin. The warrant was executed with the assistance from Oxford, Brant and the Lambton (CSCU) Units, Elgin OPP members, West Region Tactics and Rescue, West Region Emergency Response Team and the West Region Canine Unit.

As a result of the investigation Cody WHITE, 27-years-old of West Elgin was charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon

·      Disobeying Order of Court

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – cocaine (Controlled Drugs and Substances Act)

The accused has been released with the first appearance date of Friday, November 7, 2025 at the St. Thomas Court house.

Stanley WANNAMAKER Facing Numerous Charges Following Assault

(BANCROFT, ON) – The Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person following a disturbance in the town of Bancroft.

On Monday, October 6, 2025, shortly after 12:30 p.m., officers were made aware of an assault that had occurred at a local business. Upon further investigation officers learned of several historical incidents with the parties involved.

As a result, Stanley WANNAMAKER, 67, of Bancroft has been charged with the following:

–      Uttering threats – 4 counts

–      Criminal harassment – 2 counts

–      Assault

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft on November 4, 2025.

Shelter-in-Place Remains in Effect; Schools Closed Today #ItsTime #StandYourGround

 (North West Region Headquarters, ON) – Greenstone Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), working in partnership with the Anishinabek Police Service, continue to search for two armed and dangerous individuals. The shelter-in-place advisory remains in effect for the Ginoogaming First Nation area, and schools in Longlac and Long Lake #58 First Nation will be closed today as a precaution.

The suspects are described as Black males, one wearing a grey jogging suit and has braided hair, and the other wearing black pants and black shoes.

Motorists travelling on Highway 11 near Longlac and Ginoogaming First Nation are advised to remain vigilant and avoid unnecessary stops. If you see the suspects, do not approach them and call 911 immediately. Individuals not currently in the search area are asked to avoid travelling to the region, until further notice.

As a precautionary measure in response to the ongoing search, schools in Longlac and Long Lake #58 First Nation will be closed today to ensure the safety of students, staff, and the broader community. The following schools will be closed:

  • Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School
  • Marjorie Mills Public School
  • École Notre-Dame-de-Fatima
  • École secondaire Château-Jeunesse
  • Migizi Wazisin Elementary School
  • Migizi Miigwanan Secondary School
  • Confederation College, Longlac Campus

The OPP recognizes the concern and anxiety this situation may cause. Every precaution is being taken to ensure public safety and bring the situation to a safe resolution.

Two Armed and Dangerous Men Sought — School Closures Across Region #ItsTime #StandYourGround

(GINOOGAMING FIRST NATION, ON) – Members of the Greenstone Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), in partnership with the Anishinabek Police Service, continue to actively search for two armed and dangerous individuals currently at large in the area of Ginoogaming First Nation.

They are described as Black males, with one taller than the other. The taller male is wearing an all-grey jogging suit with braided hair, while the shorter one is wearing black pants and black shoes.

Members of the public are advised to call 9-1-1 immediately if they see the suspects. Do not approach them.

As a precautionary measure in response to the ongoing police investigation in Ginoogaming First Nation, all public and Catholic elementary and secondary schools in Long Lac and Long Lake #58 First Nation will be closed today, October 8, 2025.

Students are advised not to attend school. The following institutions are affected: 

Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School

•          Marjorie Mills Public School

•          École Notre-Dame-de-Fatima

•          École secondaire Château-Jeunesse

•          Migizi Wazisin Elementary School (MWES)

•          Migizi Miigwanan Secondary School

Additionally, the Long Lac Campus of Confederation College will be closed for the day.

These closures are being implemented out of caution to ensure the safety of students, staff, and the broader community. Updates will be provided as the situation evolves.

The OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), Canine Unit, and Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) drone are engaged in the search efforts to locate the suspects.

Members of the public are urged to shelter-in-place and adhere to the following safety precautions:

  • If you are outside, seek shelter immediately in a secure location.
  • If you are inside, remain there and lock all doors and windows.
  • Do not approach or engage with the suspects. Call 9-1-1 immediately if you see or encounter them.
  • Close curtains or blinds to avoid drawing attention.
  • If driving, proceed directly to your destination and lock your doors upon arrival.
  • Do not pick up hitchhikers.
  • Follow all instructions from officers on scene.

Motorists travelling on Highway 11 near Longlac and Ginoogaming First Nation are advised to remain vigilant and avoid unnecessary stops.

Individuals not currently in the affected area are asked to avoid travelling to the region until further notice.

A significant police presence will remain in the area as the investigation continues.

ALERT: Clinton To Be Used As Training Ground #Already51st

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), West Region OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), and West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), are partnering with the Avon Maitland District School Board (AMDSB) and Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board (HPCDSB) on October 10th to conduct emergency response training at the Central Huron Secondary School and St. Annes Catholic Secondary School in Clinton.

The schools will be closed to students as they have a P.A. Day on October 10th.

Emergency responders will be conducting training exercises pertaining to scenarios involving high risk situations including active attackers. Training is planned to commence at 09:00 a.m. and will continue until approximately 3:30 p.m. on Friday, October 10th.

Members of the public will notice several emergency response vehicles and personnel in and around the school properties and need not be alarmed.

Another Fatal Collision

(RENFREW, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a fatal collision on Burnstown Road in , which led to a temporary closure of the roadway in both directions between Calabogie Road and Fraser Road Road. The highway has since reopened.

On Saturday, October 4, 2025, at approximately 2:00 a.m., members of the Renfrew Detachment of the OPP responded to a serious single motor vehicle collision. The driver a 39-year-old male from Ottawa, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionist attended the scene, alongside emergency crews. The investigation remains ongoing.

Meth Bust – Courtney CLOUTHIER Arrested

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person after conducting a traffic stop on Highway (HWY) 132 in Admaston/Bromley Township.

On Friday, October 03, 2025, at approximately 1:10 a.m., a Renfrew OPP officer observed a vehicle swerving multiple times on HWY 132. The officer initiated a traffic stop on HWY 132 in Admaston/Bromley Township.  

As a result of the investigation, a passenger in the vehicle Courtney CLOUTHIER age 31 of Arnprior was charged with:

–      Possession of a schedule I substance- Methamphetamine

–      Possession of a schedule I substance- Cocaine

–      Traffic in Schedule I substance- Methamphetamine

–      Traffic in Schedule I substance- Cocaine

The accused was released and scheduled to attend the Pembroke Court of Justice on November 5, 2025.

Howick Teen Among Those Arrested, Stolen Vehicle Recovered – DUNN & GILLEY #3Strikes #TeenageDirtbags

(TILLSONBURG ON) – Three accused are facing multiple charges after a call for service for a suspicious vehicle resulted in the recovery of a stolen vehicle.

On October 5, 2025, at approximately 7:30 a.m., members of the Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment were dispatched to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Simcoe Street, in the Town of Tillsonburg.

Upon locating the vehicle, officers attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle failed to stop and fled at a high rate of speed. Police later located the occupants and vehicle on Plank Line, in the Township of South-West Oxford.

Investigation revealed that the vehicle was found to be stolen.

A 17-year-old youth has been charged with:  

·      Flight from Peace Officer

·      Dangerous Operation

·      Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – In Canada.

Additionally, Chloe Dunn, 18-years-old from St Catharine’s, and Benjamin Gilley, 19-years-old from Howick Township, have both been charged with Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – In Canada.

All three accused have been released from custody and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on a later date.

The youth’s identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).

 Members of the public are asked to shelter-in-place as a precaution and follow the below instructions:

  • If you are outside, seek shelter immediately. Secure your safety inside a building or another secure location.
  • If you are inside a building, stay there and lock all doors and windows.
  • If you encounter the suspect, do not engage or approach. Dial 9-1-1 immediately to advise police.
  • If possible, close your curtains to avoid drawing attention to yourself or your family.
  • If you are driving, proceed to your location. Do not make unnecessary stops. As soon as you arrive at your location, enter and immediately lock your doors.
  • Do not engage with anyone suspicious.
  • Follow all direction from officers on scene.

Motorists travelling on Highway 11 in the Longlac and Ginoogaming First Nation area should not pick up any hitchhikers as a safety precaution. 

Individuals not currently in the affected area are requested to avoid travelling there until further notice. Members of the public can expect an increased police presence as police continue their investigation.

We recognize the significant emotional impact sheltering-in-place can cause. The OPP is taking every precaution necessary to resolve this situation. We ask all members of the public to take actions to protect their safety while police work to apprehend the individual.

Another Seriously Injured After OPP Interaction – SIU Invokes Silence & Mandate

(RAINY RIVER, ON) – The province’s Special Investigation Unit (SIU) has invoked its mandate following an incident in Rainy River.

On Sunday, October 5, 2025, shortly after 11:00 p.m. officers from the Rainy River Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were alerted to a stolen vehicle travelling southbound on Highway 621.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle near Highway 11. A spike belt was deployed, and the vehicle subsequently entered the ditch. As a result of the collision, the passenger sustained serious injuries.

The driver and passenger were taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for assessment.

Kit MCCABE Was Arrested

(NIPIGON, ON) – Members of the Nipigon Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged one individual with impaired operation.

On October 2, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m. members of the Nipigon OPP were dispatched to a traffic complaint in the Township of Nipigon. Officers located the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.

Through investigation it was determined that the driver of the vehicle was impaired. As a result, Kit MCCABE, 65 of Nipigon was arrested and charged with:

·       Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
