23 Year Old Facing 6 Criminal Charges After Stopping In Live Lane

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation after receiving two traffic complaints regarding a vehicle stopped in the middle of a live lane.

On Tuesday October 07, 2025 at approximately 00:42 am, officers were notified of a traffic complainant for a vehicle stopped in a live lane of traffic on County Road 36 at Kennedy Bay Road. Officers located the motor vehicle and began an impaired driving investigation. The driver was charged with 6 charges including Criminal Code of Canada offences.

Logan Row, 23-year-old of Bobcaygeon, was charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
  • Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
  • Novice Driver BAC above Zero
  • Driving Motor Vehicle with Liquor Readily Available
  • Drive Vehicle or Boat with Cannabis Readily Available
  • Driver Fail to Surrender Licence

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The drivers licence was suspended for 90 days and the motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

Fatal Hwy 23 Collision

(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) – A driver has been located deceased following a single vehicle collision on the Loyalist Parkway (Highway 33) in Prince Edward County.

Officers with the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police and other first responders were called to the scene near Wellington around 8:15 a.m. on Monday, October 13, 2025.

An eastbound pick-up truck had left the roadway and struck some trees. The driver, who was alone in the vehicle, was able to get out of the truck and was located nearby. He was rushed to a local hospital with no vital signs and was pronounced deceased.

The individual has been identified as a 69-year-old man from Quinte West.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Prince Edward County Detachment, with assistance from the OPP East Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team.

Violent Home Invasion – Suspects At Large

(ORILLIA, ON) – The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a home invasion that occurred in the Township of Ramara on October 12th, 2025.   

On the 12th of October 2025 at 10:42 p.m., Orillia OPP entered a robbery investigation after being called to a residence located on Lakeshore Drive in the Township of Ramara, for a robbery involving an edged weapon. Three masked suspects entered the residence, a pepper spray like substance was used on the three occupants of the home and the suspects demanded cash. The suspects brandished edged weapons, and the residents sustained minor injuries from the pepper spray. The suspects fled the scene.

The suspects are described as:

SUSPECT #1

Male approximately 6’0″ tall, believed to have darker skin, wearing dark coloured clothing and his face was covered by a ski mask.

SUSPECT #2

Male approximately 5’6″ tall, Wearing a mask

Suspect #3

Was unable to be described

All individuals brandished edged weapons and were carrying pepper spray.

One Dead, One Injured, Two Arrested

(GINOOGAMING, ON) – Police are seeking the public’s assistance in connection with a fatal shooting that prompted a shelter-in-place advisory in Ginoogaming First Nation.

On Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at approximately 2:15 a.m., members of the Greenstone Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Anishinabek Police Service (APS) responded to reports of shots fired in the area of Echum Drive, where one person was found deceased and another located with injuries.

On Thursday, October 9, 2025, two people were arrested and charged in connection with the investigation. A shelter-in-place advisory and emergency alert were issued while police searched for the two suspects, and have since been lifted.

The OPP North West Region Crime Unit is continuing the investigation with the APS, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

Investigators are seeking assistance from the public. Anyone who was in the area of Echum Drive and Poplar Crescent between midnight and 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, is urged to contact police. Investigators are particularly interested in video footage, including surveillance or dashcam, as well as any information that could support the investigation. Even details that seem minor or unrelated may prove to be important.

Another Fatal Collision

(AMARANTH, ON) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Dufferin County EMS, and Fire Services attended a serious two-vehicle collision in the Township of Amaranth.

On Friday, October 10, 2025, at approximately 8:45 p.m., officers attended County Road 10 near County Road 12 in Amaranth for the report of a serious two-vehicle collision. The collision involved two sport utility vehicles (SUV). A Honda SUV was traveling westbound and collided with an eastbound Toyota SUV.

Sadly, as a result of the collision the driver of the Honda, a 61-year-old, male from Grand Valley was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

The driver of the Toyota, a 36-year-old female was transported to a Toronto area hospital with serious injuries. There were two children in the Toyota who were transported to local hospital with unknown injuries.

The Traffic Collision Investigation (TCI) team of the OPP was brought in to investigate. The investigation is continuing and anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dash cam footage is asked to contact the Dufferin OPP 1-888-310-1122.

Murder: One Arrested, One Victim/Suspect At Large

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one individual with second degree murder in connection with a homicide investigation in Norfolk County.

On Sunday, October 5, 2025, shortly after 10:30 a.m., Norfolk County OPP officers responded to a residence on Head Street South in Simcoe, and located a deceased individual.

The deceased has been identified as 71-year-old Barbara MORGAN of Simcoe. A postmortem examination determined that the death was the result of a homicide.

As a result of the investigation, on Friday, October 10, 2025, Justin MORGAN, 45 years old of Simcoe, was arrested and charged with second degree murder contrary to section 235(1) of the Criminal Code.

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Saturday, October 11, 2025.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, police remain concerned for the well-being of Robert SYKES, age 49 of Simcoe, who is currently unaccounted for. He was last observed on Head Street South on Saturday, October 4, 2025.

SYKES is described as:

·      White male

·      Approximately 5’10” (178 cm)

·      120 lbs (54 kg)

·      Long dirty blond hair, typically worn in a ponytail

·      Long beard/goatee

·      May be wearing glasses

The Norfolk County OPP Crime Unit is continuing the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in collaboration with the Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. Teens Arrested For Murder

(GINOOGAMING, ON) – Two males have been charged with second degree murder in connection with an ongoing homicide investigation.

Both accused remain in custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay at a later date.

The OPP North West Region Crime Unit is continuing the investigation with the Anishinabek Police Service, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

Residents of Ginoogaming First Nation will continue to see an increased police presence as the investigation continues.

17 Year Old Deceased Following Collision

(CLEARVIEW TOWNSHIP, ON) – Members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision in Clearview Township.

On Friday, October 10, 2025, at approximately 8:45 p.m., OPP officers, along with local fire and emergency medical services responded to reports of a single-vehicle collision on 33-34 Sideroad Nottawasaga.

The driver of the vehicle, a 17-year-old male from Collingwood, was pronounced deceased at the scene, while another male, a 17-year-old from Collingwood was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

33-34 Sideroad Nottawasaga remains closed from Concession 6 North to Fairgrounds Road North as the investigation is ongoing.

Shot(s) Fired – Police Raid Residence, 3 Arrested

(PEMBROKE, ON.) – The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested three people following an incident near the downtown area of Pembroke.

On October 10, 2025, just before 7:00 p.m., OPP officers responded to a report of a gunshot on Victoria St. in the City of Pembroke. Police contained the residence and due to seriousness police took appropriate safety measures. The homeowner was called out of the residence. Police then entered the residence and located three other individuals who were detained. No injuries were reported or observed.

Two of the individuals detained were arrested on outstanding warrants. A third person was arrested for failing to comply with a release order. The fourth party was interviewed and released unconditionally. The investigation is still ongoing.

One party was released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date. Two others remain in custody. They will appear by video before a Justice of the Peace on October 11, 2025.

Teens Arrested In $300,000 Prison Drone Drop Interception

(GREATER NAPANEE, ON) – A multi-agency investigation has led to two people facing extensive drug related charges.

On Thursday, October 9, 2025, Correctional Service Canada, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit, and officers from the East Region Tactics and Rescue Unit, initiated a joint investigation after receiving information of a possible contraband drone drop at the Millhaven Correctional Institution. Officers located the suspect vehicle near the institution and following an investigation, two parties were arrested. Following a search of the vehicle and occupants, police located approximately 120 grams of suspected ecstasy, just under 150 grams of suspected cannabis, just over 40 grams of suspected shatter, just over 270 grams of suspected hash, just over 100 grams of tobacco as well as a ceramic blade. Officers also seized cell phones, a drone and materials associated with a drone delivery. The seized items have an estimated institutional value of just over $300,000.

Taha OULIDI, an 18-year-old from Terrebonne, Quebec and Liyess RAKIBE, a 19-year-old from Repentigny, Quebec were charged jointly with:

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Mischief endangering life
  • Possession of ecstasy for the purpose of trafficking
  • Delivers contraband to an inmate
  • Distribute over 30 grams of dried cannabis

OULIDI was additionally charged with failing to comply with a release order and three counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

 Both accused were held in custody following a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on October 10, 2025.

Gabrielle KICKNOSWAY – Impaired Driving

(PLYMPTON-WYOMING, ON) – An individual faces charges following a collision in Plympton-Wyoming.

On October 8, 2025, just before 9:00 p.m., members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a two-vehicle rollover collision on London Line, near South Plympton Road, Plympton-Wyoming.

There were no injuries reported.

As a result of the investigation, Gabrielle KICKNOSWAY, 20-year-old of Wallaceburg, was charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous operation

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Sarnia on November 18, 2025.

Ashley Ivany – Impaired Driving & $50,000 In Cocaine

(BLANDFORD-BLENHEIM, ON) – Two individuals are facing drug trafficking charges after police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle while on general patrol.

On October 2, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., the Oxford Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment were conducting general patrol on Highway 401, in the Township of Blandford-Blenheim. An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after it was observed driving erratically.

Officers further conducted a search of the vehicle which resulted in the seizure of approximately 500 grams of suspected cocaine with an estimated potential street value of approximately $50,000.

Additional offence-related property that was seized includes a weigh scale, packaging and cellular phones.

April Sawyer, 52-years-old, of Sarnia, has been charged with:

·      Operation while Impaired – Drug

·      Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

Ashley Ivany, 40-years-old, of Sarnia, has been charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

Both accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on November 18, 2025.

Victim Stabbed During Home Invasion #StandYourGround

(WASAGA BEACH, ON) – The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects from a late-night altercation involving an edged weapon.

On October 10, 2025, at approximately 3:30 a.m., the Huronia West OPP and Simcoe County Paramedics received a report in the area of River Road West and Pauline Drive in the Town of Wasaga Beach for a male who had been stabbed by an edged weapon.

At approximately 3:35 a.m., officers arrived on scene. Investigation revealed that the suspects had entered the victim’s home and an altercation ensued ending with the victim being injured by an edged weapon. The victim was transported to local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspects were not located in the area after a search by members of the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine (K-9) unit.

The suspects are described as a white male with a buzz cut, wearing jeans, a dark sweater, and a toque. The second suspect is described as a female with tanned skin, black hair, and tattoos on her arm.  

The OPP believes that this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety.

Ryan DERASP Was Arrested

(HURON SHORES, ON) – North Shore Township driver was arrested for refusing to provide a breath sample.

On October 10, 2025, at approximately 12:15 a.m., the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on general patrol on Highway 17, Huron Shores, when a blue hatchback car was observed to be lane wandering. The car was subsequently stopped and driver was spoken to. A strong odour of alcoholic beverage was emanating from the driver’s breath and a beer can was observed by their foot. The driver was arrested and the car was towed and impounded.

Ryan DERASP, 37-years-old, from North Shore Township was charged with – Failure or refusal to comply with demand.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on December 4, 2025.
