Donavan OUWENDYK – Drunk Driving


(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON)
 – A young driver is facing charges following an impaired driving investigation in Simcoe.

On Saturday, October 25, 2025, at approximately 12:03 a.m., officers from the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Norfolk Street North in Simcoe when they stopped a vehicle to assess the driver’s sobriety.

Following a roadside sobriety test, the driver was taken into custody without incident.

As a result, 21-year-old Donavan OUWENDYK of Norfolk County was charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus),
  • Young driver – B.A.C. above zero,
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.

Tyler CHARAMBA – Impaired Driving

(LAKESHORE, ON) – One person has been charged following a traffic complaint in Lakeshore.

On October 24, 2025, at approximately 11:56 a.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint on Middle Road near County Road 46 in the Municipality of Lakeshore.

Tyler CHARAMBA, 32-years-old of Wheatley, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Possession of Property obtained by crime
  • Dangerous Operation
  • Driving while under Suspension

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was held for bail court to answer to the charges.

Seat Swap Leads To Arrest Of Michel DESORMEAUX

(LITTLE CURRENT, ON) – A traffic stop for speeding has led to multiple charges after a driver attempted to switch seats with a passenger.

On Wednesday, October 12, 2025, at approximately 8;30 a.m., officers from the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting speed enforcement on Highway 6 in the Township of Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands (NEMI). A vehicle was observed travelling at 119 km/hr in a posted 80 km/hr zone, and a traffic stop was initiated.

Upon stopping, the officer observed the driver move from the driver’s seat to the rear passenger seat, while the front passenger shifted into the driver’s seat. Further investigation revealed that the original driver was suspended from driving and the driver was subsequently arrested.

The driver, Michel DESORMEAUX, 37-years-old from Sudbury, was charged with:

  • Driving while under suspension – two counts
  • Failure to comply with release order
  • Speeding 1 – 49 km/hr over posted limit

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Gore Bay on November 4, 2025.

Spencer TURVEY – Drunk Driving

(MARKSTAY-WARREN ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged the operator of a motor vehicle with impaired driving.

On Friday October 24, 2025, at approximately 10:50 p.m., members from the Nipissing West (Sudbury) Detachment of the OPP responded to an unwanted person at a residence in Markstay-Warren.

Police located the unwanted person in a running vehicle, parked in the driveway. The driver was arrested for impaired driving, then transported to the OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Spencer TURVEY, 35 years-of-age, from Sudbury, was charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Wednesday November 19, 2025, in Sudbury.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Giovanni LIVERPOOL Facing Numerous Charges

(TEMISKAMING SHORES, ON) – The driver of a vehicle is facing numerous charges after a traffic stop led to the seizure of a loaded firearm, suspected fentanyl, and cocaine.

On Friday, October 23, 2025, members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with members of the Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), initiated an investigation into a male believed to be trafficking illicit drugs in the town of Cobalt.

At approximately 3:00 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle at a business on Highway 65 East in Temiskaming Shores. The driver was arrested as a result of the investigation. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a loaded 9mm handgun, $1300 in Canadian currency, along with suspected fentanyl and cocaine.

As a result, Giovanni LIVERPOOL, 24 years old, of Toronto, has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Possession of proceeds of crime under $5000
  • Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury.

Francisco TARDIO-ALARCON – Drunk Driving

(ESSA, ON)- Members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one individual with impaired driving following a traffic complaint in Essa Township.

Shortly after 2:00 p.m. on October 26, 2025, Nottawasaga OPP responded to a traffic complaint near on Hwy 89 and County Road 10 in Essa Township. Witnesses reported that the driver was observed swerving and running red traffic lights. Officers located the vehicle and spoke with the driver. Based on their observations, officers determined the driver was impaired by alcohol and placed them under arrest.

As a result of the investigation, Francisco TARDIO-ALARCON 48-years-old of New Tecumseth was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on November 27, 2025, to answer to the charge.

Drug Bust – Benyam NEGASH Facing Numerous Charges

(WASAGA BEACH, ON) – Members of the Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) from the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid numerous charges against a Toronto-area male.

On Thursday, October 27, 2025, members of the Huronia West OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with support from the Collingwood OPP CSCU, arrested a male suspect following a drug trafficking investigation. Shortly after the arrest, and with assistance from the Toronto Police Service 14 Division, officers executed a search warrant at a residence in Toronto.

As a result, the following items were seized:

  • Quantity of Cocaine, Fentanyl, Hydromorphone, Oxycodone and Crystal Methamphetamine
  • A loaded handgun, extended magazine, handgun accessories and rounds of firearm ammunition
  • A ballistic vest
  • Quantity of Canadian and United States currency
  • Items consistent with drug trafficking

Benyam NEGASH, 31, from Toronto was charged with:

  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of prohibited firearm with ammo
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there is a firearm
  • Possession of prohibited device or ammunition
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (four counts)

The accused is being held for a Bail Hearing with the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie on October 27, 2025.

Stephen STAINES – Drunk Driving

(PICTON, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges in an impaired-driving investigation.

On Saturday, October 25, 2025, at around 10:45 p.m., officers from the OPP Prince Edward County Detachment responded to a report of a possible impaired driver leaving an establishment on Picton Main Street. 

Officers located the motorist, and the individual was arrested and transported to the detachment for testing.

Stephen STAINES, age 31 of Wellington, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on November 12, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Justine HALL Was Arrested Again

(ESSA, ON) – Officers from the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged one individual following a suspicious persons call that led to the recovery of stolen property and multiple charges related to thefts from motor vehicles.

On October 27, 2025, shortly after 1:00 a.m., officers received a report from a resident on Brentwood Road in Essa Township regarding a female suspect observed attempting to enter parked vehicles. The complainant maintained visual contact with the suspect, who was described as a caucasian female wearing a hoodie, dark jacket, and long black pants with stripes, and riding a bicycle.

Officers quickly responded to the area and located the suspect near 53 Brentwood Road. Upon investigation, officers discovered the female in possession of multiple items, not belonging to her.

As a result of the investigation, Justine HALL 31-years-old, of no fixed address was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Trespassing at Night
  • Theft Under $5000
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada
  • Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court – Four Counts

The accused was arrested and transported to the Nottawasaga OPP detachment, where she was held for a bail hearing.

Police recovered several items such as a wallet and gift cards believed to be stolen and are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the rightful owners. A’dele MITCHELL Was Arrested

(BANCROFT, ON) – Members of the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver with impaired operation after locating a vehicle collision.

On Friday, October 24, 2025, just before 11:00 p.m., Bancroft OPP officers attended the scene of the collision on Highway 62 South in Limerick Township. The driver of the vehicle was extricated by Limerick Fire. A test with an approved alcohol screening device was conducted. The driver refused further testing.

A’dele MITCHELL, a 38-year-old resident of Bancroft, has been charged with:

  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol

The accused’s license was suspended for 90 days and their vehicle impounded for seven days. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft on December 2, 2025.

Adam Smith – Drunk Driving

(ZORRA TOWNSHIP, ON) – An individual from Norfolk County is facing impaired driving related charges after a single vehicle collision on Road 68.

On October 26, 2025, at approximately 4:00 a.m., members of the Oxford Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment were dispatched to a report of a single vehicle collision that had occurred on Road 68, in the Township of Zorra. Officers attended and spoke with the lone occupant of the vehicle. There were no injuries reported as a result of the collision.

Adam Smith, 38-years-old, of Norfolk County, has been charged with:

·        Operation while Impaired – Alcohol

·        Operation while Impaired – Blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Driving while Under Suspension

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on December 9, 2025.

Chatsworth Resident Deceased Following Collision

(MEAFORD TOWNSHIP, ON) – A single-vehicle collision in the Township of Meaford has claimed the life of a 46-year-old Chatsworth resident. 

At 4:15 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, 2025, members of the Grey-Bruce County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Grey-Bruce emergency services responded to a collision on 16 Sideroad between 11th and 12th Line in Meaford Twp.

Upon arrival, emergency services located a vehicle that had left the roadway and sustained heavy damage. The lone vehicle driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The cause of the collision is being investigated. OPP traffic collision investigators will be on scene for several hours. Roads in the area remain closed at this time.

Raymond LAURIN – Impaired Driving

(GRAVENHURST, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a wrong way driver with impaired driving.

On October 26, 2025, at 2:15 a.m. a Bracebridge OPP officer conducting patrols of Highway 11 in Gravenhurst located a vehicle travelling the wrong way, going southbound in the northbound lanes. Officers were able to conduct a traffic stop and subsequently arrested and charged 40-year-old Raymond LAURIN of Midland, ON with Impaired Operation, Over 80 and Dangerous Operation. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on November 18, 2025 to answer to his charges.

3 Dead Following Collision

(NORWICH, ON) –   A two-vehicle collision has claimed three lives.

On October 24, 2025, at approximately 4:00 p.m., members of the Oxford and Norfolk Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachments, Paramedic Services and Fire Services responded to a collision on Mall Road, between Oxford Road 13 and Middletown Line.

Upon arrival, emergency services located Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) a pick-up truck that had collided.

Both passengers of the SUV were transported to a local area hospital with serious life-threatening injuries and were pronounced deceased. The 75-year-old driver of the SUV was airlifted to a London Hospital and was later pronounced deceased. The driver of the pickup truck was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation. OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team are continuing to assist with the investigation. Mall Road between Oxford Road 13 and Middletown Line was closed for several hours to allow for investigation and has since reopened.

Seaforth Brawl Ends With Arrests Of COLLINGS, DODDS & MAES

(HURON EAST, ON) – On Sunday, October 19th, 2025, in the early morning hours, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a large fight at an address on Main Street North in the Town of Seaforth, Municipality of Huron East.

As a result of the investigation, OPP learned that three involved suspects had allegedly committed assaults on other individuals.

The suspects were arrested shortly after the incident and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

Stephanie COLLINGS, 34 years-of-age from Huron East has been charged with:

–      Assault.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court date scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on December 15, 2025.

Owen DODDS, 32 years-of-age from London has been charged with:

–      Assault.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court date scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on December 15, 2025.

Annick MAES, 33 years-of-age from Stratford has been charged with:

–      Assault,

–      Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court date scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on December 15, 2025.
