Bruce CASSELMAN Arrested Following Hit & Run

(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) – An individual has been charged following a fail to remain collision on County Road 5 in Prince Edward County.

On Thursday, January 22, 2026, shortly before 9:00 p.m., officers with the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a fail to remain motor vehicle collision on County Road 5.

Witnesses saw a passenger vehicle strike multiple snowbanks before colliding with an unoccupied vehicle. The passenger vehicle then left the scene.

Officers located the driver nearby and utilized an approved roadside alcohol screening device on the individual. As a result, the individual was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.

Bruce CASSELMAN, age 72 of Demorestville, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Fail to remain
  • Fail to report

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on March 4, 2026. The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The OPP reminds motorists that impaired driving is preventable. Members of the public are urged to report impaired driving by calling 911 in emergency situations. Complaints of impaired, aggressive, or careless driving can also be made by calling 1-888-310-1122.

Kyle PEPLINSKIE & Caitlyn DENNIS Were Arrested

(PEMBROKE, ON) – Two people face charges after a significant drug seizure in Pembroke.

On Wednesday, January 21, 2026, as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) stopped a vehicle on Alfred Street after the driver was identified as being prohibited from driving.

The driver was arrested and a search resulted in the seizure of more than 184 grams of suspected cocaine, nearly 22 grams of suspected crack cocaine, over 61 grams of suspected fentanyl, nearly 180 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, nearly 81 grams of suspected MDMA, as well as quantities of hydromorphone pills and morphine.

The passenger was also arrested after the drugs were seized.

Kyle PEPLINSKIE, age 39 of Ottawa has been charged with:

  • Possession of Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – six counts
  • Possession of Schedule 3 substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol or drugs
  • Refusing to provide a breath sample
  • Driving while under suspension

Caitlyn DENNIS, age 31 of Chapeau, Quebec has been charged with:

  • Possession of Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – six counts
  • Possession of Schedule 3 substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Failing to comply with a probation order

Both of the accused individuals were held in custody and were scheduled to appear for bail hearings before the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on Thursday, January 22, 2026.

Robert IRWIN – Drunk Driving

(POWASSAN, ON) – The North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a driver with impaired driving after responding to a report of a vehicle stuck on a guard rail.

On Saturday, January 10, 2026, at approximately 7:45 p.m., the North Bay OPP, along with Emergency Medical Services and Fire Services, attended the scene of a pickup truck hung up on the guard rails in the southbound lanes of Highway 11.

Officers spoke with the driver and determined that they had been consuming alcohol. The individual was arrested and transported to the North Bay OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Robert IRWIN, 56 years of age, of Sturgeon Falls, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on February 17, 2026, in North Bay. They were also issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Caitlyn DENNIS & Kyle PEPLINSKIE Were Arrested

(PEMBROKE, ON) – Two people face charges after a significant drug seizure in Pembroke.

Cristopher SHETTELL & Ronald ALLEN Were Arrested

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges in two impaired driving investigations over the weekend. OPP statistics for the area indicate that impaired driving charges doubled from 2024, to last year, 2025. This year is already seeing an alarming number of impaired drivers.

On Friday, January 16, 2025, at approximately 10:00 p.m., the Quinte West OPP came upon a vehicle that had driven into a snowbank, the driver was arrested for impaired.

Ronald ALLEN, age 38, from Brighton, was charged with:

•               Operation while impaired – alcohol

•               Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•               Have care or control of vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

On Saturday, January 18, 2025, at approximately 11:00 p.m., the Quinte West OPP were conducted a traffic stop, the driver was arrested impaired and taken to detachment for further testing.

Cristopher SHETTELL, age 47, from Belleville, was charged with:

•        Red light – fail to stop

•        Operation while impaired – alcohol

•        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Both accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on February 26, 2026. Their vehicles were impounded for seven days, and their licenses suspended for 90 days.

Adam BROWN & Tracy O’NEIL Were Arrested

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) – Officers of the Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) are always looking for criminal driving behaviour. 

On January 22, 2026 at 8:59a.m., Huntsville O.P.P. officers were notified of a vehicle partially stuck in a snowbank at an address on King William Street in Huntsville. Muskoka EMS and Huntsville officers arrived on scene and determined the two occupants of the vehicle to be medically fine. However, It became apparent to officers the male driver was impaired.

As a result of the investigation, Adam BROWN, 46 years old of Huntsville Ontario, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·        Possession of schedule 1 substance

·        Possession of schedule III substance 

·        Drive motor vehicle with Liqour readily available

Also charged in this investigation is the vehicle passenger,

Tracy O’NEIL, 45 years old of Bracebridge Ontario; 

·        Possession of Schedule III substance

Both of the accused were released and are to appear in March 2026 before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge Ontario.

The driver was also issued a 90 Administrative Driver’s License Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

– DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE –

This event could have easily been avoided had the driver planned ahead before consuming alcohol or drugs. 

Don’t include alcohol or drugs in any plans to drive. Instead, arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi or public transit, or come up with another option that takes driving out of the picture altogether.

James LEBLANC Was Arrested

(MUNICIPALITY OF HURON SHORES, ON) – The East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) lays sixth impaired charged in 2026.

On Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at around 3:45 p.m., police responded to a report of a suspected impaired driver after a black car lost control and flipped into a ditch on Highway 17 near Station Road in the Municipality of Huron Shores.

The investigation revealed that earlier, the same car had been traveling west on Highway 17 when it passed another vehicle in the Sowerby area, clipping it in the process. The other driver was not injured and pulled over to call police.

When officers arrived at the scene, they spoke with the driver and determined alcohol had been consumed. The driver was arrested and taken to a hospital in Thessalon for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. While in custody, the driver refused to provide a breath sample, and the vehicle was impounded.

James LEBLANC, 37 years old from Geraldton was charged with:

  • Dangerous operation
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Fail to remain

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on March 5, 2025.

Shaquille ANTOINE Was Arrested Again #3Strikess

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) – Officers of the Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) are always looking for criminal driving behaviour. 

On January 21, 2026 at 7:15a.m., Huntsville O.P.P. officers were notified by ONSTAR and of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 11 northbound near Stephenson Rd 12. Reports were the vehicle was on its roof.  

Police attended the scene with the assistance of Muskoka EMS. The driver was determined to be uninjured, but police determined the driver to be impaired.

As a result of the investigation, Shaquille ANTOINE, 26 years old of North York Ontario, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·        Possession of schedule 1 substance (cocaine) – trafficking x 2

·        Failing to comply with Probation Order

·        Possession of Property obtained by crime under $5000

·        Drive motor vehicle with cannabis available

The accused was held for a bail hearing 2026 before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge Ontario.

The accused was also issued a 90 Administrative Driver’s License Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

Nathan BOULARD – Drunk Driving

(WEST NIPISSING, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged one person with impaired driving offences after a report of a stolen vehicle.

On Tuesday January 20, 2026, at approximately 9:45 p.m., members from the Nipissing West Detachment of the OPP, responded to a report of a stolen vehicle from Nipissing Street, West Nipissing.

The vehicle was later involved in a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 17, Verner. No injuries were reported and the driver was arrested for impaired driving, then transported to the OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Nathan BOULARD, 36 years-of-age, from Garson was charged with,

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Drive motor vehicle, no plates
  • Take Motor Vehicle Without Consent
  • Dangerous operation

The accused was held for Bail Court, then released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on February 1, 2026, in North Bay.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person after responding to a motor vehicle collision.

On Sunday, January 18, 2026, at approximately 11:15 p.m., Renfrew OPP officers responded to a motor vehicle collision in the Township of Horton. 

As a result of the investigation, Larry DUFORD age 63 of Calabogie was charged with:

–      Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking- cocaine

–      Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000  

The accused was released and scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on February 18, 2026.

Richard PAULO – Drunk Driving

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person after officers conducted a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) Initiative.

On Saturday, January 17, 2026, at approximately 1:00 a.m., Renfrew OPP officers were conducting a RIDE initiative in the Town of Arnprior. A vehicle was observed to reverse into a parking lot located near the initiative. Officers conducted a traffic stop with the vehicle.   

As a result of the investigation, Richard PAULO age 49 of Nepean was charged with:

–      Operation while impaired- alcohol  

–      Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) 

The accused was released and scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on February 25, 2026.

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one people after officers responded to a traffic complaint in McNab/Braeside Township.

On Friday, January 16, 2026, at approximately 7:20 p.m., Renfrew OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint on the ice in McNab/Braeside Township. Officers were advised of a motor vehicle driving dangerously on the ice surface.

As a result of the investigation, Jack WATSON age 27 of Ottawa was charged with:

–      Failure or refusal to comply with demand   

–      Operation while prohibited

–      Dangerous Operation 

The accused was held for a bail hearing.

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person after responding to an assault call.

On Tuesday, January 13, 2025, at approximately 3:30 a.m., Renfrew OPP officers responded to an assault call for service in the Town of Renfrew. 

As a result of the investigation, Jasmine PEARCE age 24 of Renfrew was charged with assault.

The accused was released and scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on February 11, 2026.

16 Year Old From Mount Forest Arrested

(WELLINGTON NORTH TOWNSHIP, ON) – A youth is charged following an incident in Mount Forest.

On January 21, 2026, at approximately 7:30 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of an incident at an address in Mount Forest.

As a result of the investigation, a 16-year-old from Mount Forest, is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Administer noxious thing
  • Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm
  • Failure to comply with Undertaking

The victim did not sustain any injuries.

The accused, whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was held in police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph at a later date.

James HENRY – Impaired Driving

(MISSISSIPPI MILLS TWP, ON) – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Tay Valley Township resident with impaired driving.

Lanark County OPP received a call from paramedics on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, just after 9:15 a.m. in the Town of Almonte in reference to two unresponsive people in a vehicle in front of a business. Prior to police arrival the male and female had regained consciousness and left the scene. Officers located the vehicle a short time later and conducted a traffic stop.

The driver was arrested and transported to the OPP Detachment in Carleton Place for testing.

As a result of the investigation, James HENRY, 43-years-old, has been charged with operation while impaired – Drugs.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday February 23, 2026.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
