Karamjot Singh Was Arrested

(CALEDON, ON) – Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid numerous charges upon a suspended driver in Caledon.

On July 24, 2025, just before 7:30 p.m., officers were on general patrol in the area of Airport Road and King Street, in the Town of Caledon. The in-cruiser Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system issued an alert regarding a suspended driver. A traffic stop was conducted upon the vehicle and an investigation began.

Following the investigation, Karamjot Singh, 29, of Cambridge, was charged with:

  • Obstruct peace officer
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on August 28, 2025 to answer to these charges. Additionally, the driver’s vehicle was impounded for a period of seven days.

19 Year Old Facing Drunk Driving Charge

(ZORRA, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford Detachment responded to a single vehicle collision, resulting in one person being charged with impaired driving.

On July 28, 2025, at approximately 10:45 p.m., members of Oxford OPP were dispatched to a collision on Road 68 in Zorra Township.

As a result of the investigation, Alana CEHIC, a 19-year-old resident of Woodstock, has been charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 plus

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on August 26, 2025.

Shawn JAROLI – Impaired Operation

(NIPIGON, ON) – An officer on patrol arrested a driver for impaired operation after witnessing a vehicle driving aggressively.

On July 28, 2025, at approximately 10:30 pm, an officer with the Nipigon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was patrolling Highway 11&17, near the Town of Nipigon. The officer witnessed a vehicle leaving a local establishment spinning tires and accelerating heavily.

A traffic stop was initiated and the officer determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol. A roadside test with the Approved Screening Device (ASD) was demanded, to which the driver failed. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the Nipigon Detachment for further testing.

Shawn JAROLI, 49-years-old, from Nipigon, ON has been charged under the criminal code with;

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol or drug
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused’s driver licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. The accused was released and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Nipigon on a future date.

18 Year Old Facing Drunk Driving Charge

(BLIND RIVER, ON)- On Sunday, July 27, 2025, at approximately 1:30 a.m., the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a black pickup truck that had been taken without consent from a garage on Huron Avenue in the Town of Blind River.

The driver was known to the complainant and later, at approximately 2:15 a.m., officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 in Algoma Mills. Upon arrival, police determined that the vehicle involved in the collision was the same pickup truck reported stolen earlier from Blind River.

While speaking with the driver, officers determined alcohol had been consumed. The individual was arrested at the scene and transported to the Blind River OPP detachment for further processing.

Paul RILEY, 18 years old from Blind River was charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Take motor vehicle without consent

·      Fail to have insurance card

·      Drive motor vehicle, no licence

·      Drive motor vehicle, no permit

·      Drive motor vehicle, no plates

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on October 2, 2025. The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension, and the involved vehicle was impounded for 7days.

Terrence ELLIOTT Was Arrested Again

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON)- The East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) receive a complaint of a shirtless person outside a residence on Diefenbaker Court in the City of Elliot Lake.

On July 25, 2025, at approximately 9:00 a.m., police attended Diefenbaker Court and arrested an individual for being intoxicated in a public place and while searching the individual officers located nine methamphetamine pills inside a pant pocket.

Terrence ELLIOTT, 36 years old from Elliot Lake was charged with:

·      Possession of a schedule I substance-methamphetamine

·      Fail to comply with Probation Order

·      Being intoxicated in public place

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on September 11, 2025.

Clayton AUSTEN Was Arrested

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON)- On Saturday, July 25, 2025, members of the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting patrols in the City of Elliot Lake.

At approximately 7:00 p.m., officers observed a grey pickup truck pass another vehicle on Highway 108, between Manitoba Road and Hillside Drive North. A traffic stop was conducted, and while speaking with the driver, police determined alcohol had been consumed. The driver was transported to the Elliot Lake detachment for further testing, where they refused to provide a suitable breath sample despite multiple attempts.

Clayton AUSTEN, 74 years old from Elliot Lake was charged with: Failure or refusal to comply with demand.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on August 14, 2025. 

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension, and the involved vehicle was impounded for 7days.

Hit & Run – Cassie WILTSHIRE Arrested

(ESSA, ON)– Members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one individual with impaired driving following a fail to remain collision in Essa Township

On July 28, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on 11th Line, north of Side Road 20 in Essa Township. One of the involved individuals fled the scene on foot into a nearby field.

The OPP Canine Unit was deployed, and the suspect was located shortly before 7:00 p.m. Grounds were formed that the individual’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol, resulting in their arrest.

As a result of the investigation, Cassie WILTSHIRE 28-years-old of Essa was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Fail to remain

The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on September 4, 2025, to answer to the charge. The driver’s licence was also suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle impounded for seven.

More Impaired Drivers

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – On July 28th, 2025 at approximately 9:57 p.m., officers from the Thunder Bay & Shabaqua Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision along East Arrow Lake Road, outside of the Village of Suomi.

As a result of the investigation, it was determined that the driver had been consuming alcoholic beverages, was placed under arrest & returned to the detachment for further tests.

As a result of the investigation, Donald HARRIS, 67, of the Thunder Bay, Ontario was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus);
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs;

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on September 10th, 2025.

Furthermore, on July 29th, 2025 at approximately 12:22 a.m., officers from the Thunder Bay & Shabaqua Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to another single motor vehicle collision along Highway 527, within the Unorganized District of Thunder Bay.

Through the investigation, it was determined that the driver had been consuming alcoholic beverages, was placed under arrest & returned to the detachment for further tests.

As a result of the investigation, Crystal RANTA, 33, of Thunder Bay, Ontario was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus);
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs;

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on September 10th, 2025.

More Impaired Drivers

(PEMBROKE, ON.) – The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged three drivers with impaired related charges within a span of two days.

On July 26, 2025, just before 12:30 a.m., OPP received a report of a vehicle going off the roadway on Barron Canyon Rd. in the Town of Petawawa. The vehicle fled the scene shortly after. Police located the vehicle. As part of the investigation a Roadside Screening Device was utilized, and the driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Eric STOPA, 25 years old, of Pembroke was charged with impaired operation.

Then on July 27, 2025, just after 2:30 a.m., OPP received a traffic complaint of an erratic driver in North Algona-Wiberforce Township. The driver was located and transported to detachment for testing.

Steeve LADOUCEUR, 59 years old, from Oakville was charged with impaired operation.

Later, on July 27, 2025, just after 7:00 p.m., OPP received information regarding a possible intoxicated person operating a personal watercraft on a Madawaska Valley waterway. Police located the individual and the watercraft. 

Przemyslaw POZNANSKI, 45 years old, of OAKVILLE was charged with failure to provide a sample.

Each of the accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and the vehicles were towed and impounded for seven days. They were released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke at a later date.

Northumberland Weekend Update

(NORTHUMBERLAND, ON) – Members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to several incidents over the weekend, resulting in multiple charges.

Public Intoxication

On July 24, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m., officers responded to a report of an individual causing a disturbance on Inkerman Street in Campbellford. Police located the person, who was intoxicated.

A 21-year-old male from the Municipality of Trent Hills was taken into custody and charged with:

  • Being intoxicated in a public place

Unwanted Person and Outstanding Warrant

On July 27, 2025, at approximately 10:15 p.m., officers responded to a complaint regarding an unwanted person at a commercial premises on Grand Road in the Municipality of Trent Hills. The individual was taken into custody and was also found to be wanted by a neighbouring police service.

Before being transferred to that service, a 28-year-old male of no fixed address was charged with:

  • Enter premises when entry prohibited

RIDE Checkpoint Charges

On July 28, 2025, shortly before 3:30 a.m., officers were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) checkpoint on County Road 30 in the Municipality of Trent Hills. A passenger vehicle was stopped, and an investigation followed.

A 52-year-old male from the Municipality of Trent Hills was charged with:

  • Obstruct plate
  • Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

Impaired Driving and Speeding

On July 27, 2025, at approximately 7:55 p.m., officers conducting speed enforcement on County Road 25 in the Township of Cramahe observed a pickup truck travelling at 128 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.

The vehicle was stopped, and following interaction with the driver, officers entered into an impaired operation investigation. The individual was taken into custody and transported to a local detachment for further testing.

Betty DUMONTIER (42) from Belle River Lakeshore, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Speeding
  • Fail to surrender insurance card

In addition to a future court date in September, a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment were initiated under statute.

If you know or suspect that a driver is impaired by alcohol or drugs, call 9-1-1. In doing so, you may save a life. Whether you are impaired by alcohol or drugs, impaired is impaired and driving under the influence of either is a criminal offence. If you plan on drinking or consuming drugs, plan to not drive. Instead, arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi or public transit, or come up with another plan that takes impaired driving out of the picture.

Evan BEAUSOLEIL Was Arrested

(GRAVENHURST, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged the operator of an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) after a collision on July 26.

On July 26, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., Bracebridge OPP, along with Muskoka EMS and the Gravenhurst Fire Department, responded to reports of an ATV collision near Highway 11 South in Gravenhurst. Witnesses shared that the ATV had rolled down a ditch and pinned the operator underneath. Bystanders assisted by lifting the ATV off of the operator and he was transported to hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.

Officers conducted an investigation into the collision and arrested and charged 27-year-old Evan BEAUSOLEIL with Impaired Operation and Over 80. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on September 2, 2025 to answer to his charges.

Philip ESSON Was Arrested Again #3Strikes

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual has been charged following an investigation related to a residence in Simcoe.

At approximately 11:03 a.m. on Sunday, July 27, 2025, members of the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), with support from the West Region OPP Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit, responded to a suspected break and enter to a residence on Blueline Road in Simcoe.

The investigation determined that an individual prohibited from being on the property unlawfully entered the home.

The individual was not located at the time of the incident; however, they were located in the vicinity of the residence and taken into custody without incident the following morning.

As a result, 63-year-old Philip ESSON of Norfolk County was charged with the following alleged offence:

  • Fail to comply with Probation Order – two counts.

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Monday, July 28, 2025.

One Dead Following Fire & Failed Rescue Attempt

(THE NATION TWP, ON) – An individual has been located deceased after a structure fire in The Nation Township.

On Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 10:00 p.m., officers with the Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Nation Township Fire Department responded to a fully involved structure fire on Concession Road 20. First responders learned that one tenant of the building was unaccounted for. Another tenant attempted to rescue the individual but was forced out by smoke and flames.

On Monday, July 28, 2025, human remains were located inside the heavily damaged residence. The deceased is believed to be the missing tenant, a 57-year-old-woman/

The fire is not believed to be suspicious but remains under investigation by the Hawkesbury OPP Crime Unit and Office of the Fire Marshal, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner.

Ashraf MOHAMMED – Drugs

(GANANOQUE, ON) – The Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) teamed up with the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO) at the Gananoque Truck Inspection Station to track down drivers who failed to stop at the inspection station. The initiative saw officers stop the vehicles and escort them back for inspection.

On Thursday, July 24, 2025, members of the Leeds OPP and the MTO, assisted by OPP Emergency Response Team members, located multiple commercial vehicles on secondary roads, avoiding a truck inspection station, which is against the law.

Over a dozen commercial vehicle inspections were conducted, six of which occurred after vehicles were located bypassing the station. A total of 15 charges were laid, and four commercial vehicles were taken out of service.

One driver, 27-year-old Ashraf MOHAMMED of Woodstock, was also charged with Possession of a Schedule I substance – opioid, contrary to the Controlled Drug Substances Act, amongst many other traffic-related offences.

Connor MCQUAIN Was Arrested Again #RepeatOffender #3Strikes

(GRAVENHURST, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person in relation to a break and enter investigation in Gravenhurst.

On July 27, 2025 at 10:40 p.m. Bracebridge OPP officers were dispatched to reports of aE break and enter that occurred at a business located at the corner of Muskoka Road South and James Street in Gravenhurst. The suspect smashed the door to the business, however was unsuccessful in gaining entry.

Police gathered evidence and spoke with witnesses and during the morning hours of July 28, 2025, officers arrested and charged 34-year-old Connor MCQUAIN, of Gravenhurst with Break and Enter, Mischief and Fail to Comply with Probation X 3.

He was held in custody and will appear for a bail hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge today to answer to his charges.
