Brendan JONES Was Arrested

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual has been charged following an investigation into a public intoxication incident in Simcoe.

On Sunday, September 21, 2025, at approximately 2:12 p.m., members of the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a suspected intoxicated person on North Main Street in Simcoe.

Officers located the individual nearby and, following an interaction, took them into custody without incident. While in police custody, however, the individual physically assaulted an officer. No injuries were reported.

As a result, 45-year-old Brendan JONES of Haldimand County was charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Being intoxicated in public place,
  • Assault a Peace Officer.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, October 21, 2025.

The OPP reminds community members that under the Liquor Licence and Control Act, 2019, it is illegal to be intoxicated in public places where the general public is invited or allowed access, or in any shared areas of residences with multiple dwellings.

Fatal Collision

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision near Frogmore.

On Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at approximately 9:25 a.m., Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers, along with Norfolk County Paramedic Services and the Norfolk County Fire Department, responded to a single-vehicle collision on 2nd Concession Road ENR near Frogmore.

The investigation revealed that a pickup truck was travelling along 2nd Concession Road ENR when it left the roadway and collided with a tree.

The driver, a 39-year-old Norfolk County resident, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased.

2nd Concession Road ENR, which had been closed between Norfolk County Road 45 and Beach Lane for several hours during the investigation, has since reopened.

The West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) Team is assisting with the investigation and is asking anyone who was in the area of 2nd Concession Road ENR and Norfolk County Road 45 and witnessed the collision, or has information that may assist, to contact the Norfolk County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

Meth Bust – Patrick ST. LOUIS

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – A wanted individual has been taken into custody and charged in connection with a stolen vehicle investigation in Simcoe.

On Thursday, September 18, 2025, at approximately 9:07 a.m., members of the Haldimand/Norfolk Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit observed a vehicle previously reported stolen in Norfolk County on Windham Street in Simcoe.

Officers located an individual inside the vehicle who was wanted on two outstanding warrants and took them into custody without incident.

A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of suspected methamphetamine.

As a result, 51-year-old Patrick ST. LOUIS of Norfolk County was charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance – methamphetamine,
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Thursday, September 18, 2025.

William MINSHALL – Assault & Threats

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual has been charged in relation to an assault investigation in Delhi.

On Thursday, September 18, 2025, at approximately 3:41 a.m., Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a reported assault on Imperial Street in Delhi.

The investigation determined that several individuals were inside a residence when one person physically assaulted another, verbally threatened that individual and a second person, and caused damage to property within the home.

As a result, 32-year-old William MINSHALL of Norfolk County was arrested and charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Assault cause bodily harm – choke, suffocate, or strangle,
  • Mischief over $5,000,
  • Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm – two counts.

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Thursday, September 18, 2025.

Canada Wide Warrant For Tegmina Konstanovna AGADZHANYAN

(INNISFIL, ON) â€“ The South Simcoe Police Service is issuing an update in relation to the child abduction investigation and warrant issued for Tegmina Konstanovna AGADZHANYAN.

The arrest warrant previously authorized for AGADZHANYAN has now been endorsed as a Canada-wide warrant. This means that if Tegmina Konstanovna AGADZHANYAN returns to Canada, in any province or through any port of entry, she will be immediately taken into custody and brought before the court to answer to the charges she is facing.

The issuance of a Canada-wide warrant is a key development that will assist in advancing the investigation and is anticipated to enhance collaborative efforts between Canadian and Russian authorities.

The South Simcoe Police Service takes all allegations involving the abduction of a child extremely seriously and investigates them thoroughly. The investigation remains ongoing. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available and as the investigation permits.

Teen Gang Confrontation – Firearm Seized

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – A youth has been charged in connection with a weapons-related incident in Delhi.

On Monday, September 15, 2025, at approximately 1:40 p.m., Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a weapons-related incident on Imperial Street in Delhi.

The investigation determined that an interaction took place between two groups of youths, during which one individual brandished what appeared to be a firearm and physically assaulted another on the premises. No injuries were reported.

As a result, a 16-year-old resident of Carrying Place, Ontario, was arrested and charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Pointing a firearm,
  • Assault with a weapon,
  • Obstruct Peace Officer,
  • Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court (two counts).

The accused, whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, remains in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe at a later date.

Steven TOTA Was Arrested

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual has been charged in connection with an impaired-related collision near Delhi.

On Monday, September 13, 2025, at approximately 8:52 p.m., Norfolk County OPP officers responded to a single-vehicle collision involving a pickup truck on Brantford Road, just outside Delhi. No injuries were reported.

After locating and speaking with the driver near the scene, officers took the individual into custody without incident.

As a result, 34-year-old Steven TOTA of Norfolk County was charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs,
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.

Jacob HOAG Charged At RIDE

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – A driver and passenger were both charged following a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program in Simcoe.

On Monday, September 15, 2025, at approximately 12:22 a.m., Norfolk County OPP officers were conducting a RIDE program on Norfolk Street North in Simcoe when they stopped a vehicle and assessed the driver for sobriety.

During the stop, officers determined the driver was operating the vehicle without insurance, while a passenger attempted to flee on foot. Both individuals were taken into custody without incident.

As a result, the driver, a 35-year-old Norfolk County resident, was charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance,
  • Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Provincial Offences Court in Simcoe at a later date.

Also charged is 29-year-old Jacob HOAG of Norfolk County with the following alleged offence:

  • Obstruct Peace Officer.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, October 21, 2025.

Margaret TEICHROEB – Drunk Driving

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Driver facing impaired charge after traffic stop on Highway 401.

On September 13, 2025, at 10:12 p.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while on general patrol in the eastbound lanes of Highway 401, the Municipality of Thames Centre, observed a suspicious vehicle, at which time a traffic stop was initiated.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment.

As a result, Margaret TEICHROEB, a 40-year-old of Norfolk County, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Dangerous Operation

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on October 6, 2025.

The Middlesex OPP wants to remind the public that if you see anything suspicious or suspect an impaired driver you should contact the Ontario Provincial Police or your nearest police authority immediately.

OPP Traffic Notes In Review For The Week In North Simcoe

(MIDLAND, ON)– Officers from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were kept busy with traffic investigations during the past week on roadways in North Simcoe. With students back in school, drivers had extra vehicular traffic to contend with including school buses and pedestrian traffic and community safety zones.

Officers focused their patrol time to school zone areas as well in the outlying areas such as Vasey Road, Old Fort Road, Simcoe County Roads 6, 27 and 93 which resulted in numerous instances of enforcement action being taken primarily for speeding offences which is one of the “Big Four” contributing factors of serious crashes along with seat belt usage, distracted driving and impaired driving.

On September 8, 2025 at 7:11 a.m. a 31 year old Elmvale male driver was stopped on Vasey Road, Tay Township and charged for stunt driving after being clocked at 123 km/hr in an 60 km/hr zone resulting in a vehicle impound / 30 day drivers licence suspension and a date in Provincial court. Side note, the driver also faces a charge under the Cannabis Control Act.

Twelve crashes were investigated on area roadways and officers responded to 25 traffic complaints initiated by the public and called into the OPP Communication Centre for such things as possible impaired drivers, speeders and in one incidence a report of a passenger sitting atop the roof of the car heading up Cedar Point Road in Tiny Township. 14 R.I.D.E. (reduce impaired driving everywhere) programs were setup throughout the Detachment area at all hours of the day/night checking over 200 drivers for signs of impairment in an effort to improve road safety.

IMPAIRED DRIVING INCIDENTS

1) Officers were dispatched at 11:55 p.m. September 10, 2025 to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in a restricted parking spot at a William Street, Midland housing complex. Officers found two occupants passed out in the vehicle and upon awaking and speaking with the driver, made an arrest and entered into an impaired by drug investigation. Further investigation at detachment with the assistance of an OPP Drug Recognition (DRE) officer has resulted in the following criminal charges for 35 year old Mitchell Alan ELLERY of Merrickville.

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court

And further with the Provincial Offence of

  • Fail to surrender accessible parking permit

The accused was held for a bail hearing and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date. The accused was also served a 90 day drivers licence suspension. The involved vehicle was towed and subject to a 7 day vehicle impound in accordance to the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.

2) OPP officers were dispatched at 10:26 p.m. September 10, 2025 to a report of a possible impaired driver accompanied by a number of intoxicated individuals parked in a restricted parking spot at a Simcoe County 93 Midland fast food restaurant. Attending officers spoke with the driver and entered into a drinking and driving investigation resulting in 47 year old Rachel SECORD of Penetanguishene being charged criminally with the following offences.

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Theft Under $5000

The accused was released and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  on October 23, 2025 and was also served a 90 day drivers licence suspension. The involved vehicle was towed and subject to a 7 day vehicle impound in accordance to the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.

A secondary property related investigation at Detachment resulted in 32 year old Dylan CAMPBELL also of Penetanguishene being charged criminally with the offences of,

  • Theft Under $5000
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused was released and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  on October 23, 2025.

Jason BALCOMB Was Arrested Again

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Haldimand/Norfolk Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) has charged an individual with multiple drug-trafficking offences following their arrest in Simcoe.

On Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at approximately 2:13 p.m., members of the Haldimand/Norfolk OPP CSCU arrested an individual on Culver Street in Simcoe as part of a drug-trafficking investigation.

During a search of the individual, officers seized suspected fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, Canadian currency, and drug-related paraphernalia.

As a result, 47-year-old Jason BALCOMB of Norfolk County was charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Traffic in Schedule I substance – opioid (other than heroin),
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine,
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid (other than heroin),
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine,
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 – in Canada,
  • Fail to comply with Probation Order.

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Thursday, September 11, 2025.

Tori HANSFORD Was Arrested

(ZORRA TOWNSHIP, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford Detachment charged a driver, for impaired driving, as the result of a two-vehicle collision.

On September 10, 2025, at approximately 8:20 p.m., Oxford OPP responded to a two-vehicle collision on the 37th Line in Zorra Township.

No injuries were reported.

As a result of the investigation, Tori HANSFORD a 21-year-old resident of Norfolk County, has been charged with:

  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  • Operation While Impaired
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 plus

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on November 18, 2025.

72 Year Old Facing Assault Charges

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual has been charged in connection with an assault investigation near Turkey Point.

On Saturday, September 6, 2025, at approximately 7:46 p.m., officers from the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a reported assault on Mole Sideroad near Turkey Point.

The investigation revealed that a group of individuals had an interaction on the property, during which one person brandished an edged weapon toward the others. No injuries were reported.,

As a result, 72-year-old Brenda BARTLETT of Brantford, Ontario, was arrested and charged with the following alleged offence:

  • Assault with a weapon – two counts.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.

Eryc SHAVER – Drunk Driving

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual was charged in connection with an impaired driving investigation in Simcoe.

On Saturday, September 6, 2025, at approximately 12:34 a.m., officers from the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Cockshutt Road in Simcoe when they stopped a vehicle and evaluated the driver’s sobriety.

After administering a roadside sobriety test, officers took the individual into custody without incident

As a result, 38-year-old Eryc SHAVER of Norfolk County was charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs,
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.

“Drug” Bust

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – A Haldimand/Norfolk Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) investigation into an illicit cannabis operation has resulted in an individual facing multiple charges.

On Wednesday, September 3, 2025, members of the Haldimand/Norfolk OPP CSCU, with support from the Elgin/Middlesex and Brant/Oxford CSCUs, the West Region OPP Emergency Response Team, the West Region OPP Canine Unit, and the Provincial Joint Forces Cannabis Enforcement Team, executed a search warrant at a property on McDowell Road East in Simcoe as part of an illicit cannabis investigation.

During the search, officers seized quantities of dried cannabis, cannabis oil, edibles, and vape products, along with various operational equipment, paraphernalia, a utility task vehicle (side-by-side), and Canadian currency. In addition, two enclosed utility trailers, confirmed to have been stolen, were recovered.

As a result, 47-year-old Jeffery OPPERMAN of Norfolk County was arrested and charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Possession of illicit cannabis,
  • Possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling,
  • Possession for the purpose of distributing,
  • Alter or offer to alter the chemical or physical properties of cannabis by the use of an organic solvent,
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 – in Canada,
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 – in Canada – two counts.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe at a later date.
