Christian HAMPTON Arrested Following Collision

(Mono, ON) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver involved in a single motor vehicle collision.

On March 31, 2025, just after 3:00 a.m., the Dufferin County OPP were called to a collision scene on 5 Sideroad in the Town of Mono in which a single motor vehicle had struck a pole. Emergency services efficiently worked to retrieve a single male occupant from the motor vehicle and transport him to the hospital.

As a result of this investigation, Christian HAMPTON, a 27 year old from Mono has been charged with:

•      Adult Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•      Adult Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville to answer to the charges.

22 Year Old From Owen Sound Arrested

(MONO, ON) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an Orangeville resident with impaired operation related offences as the result of a traffic complaint.

On April 5, 2025, just before 6:30 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers were dispatched to a call for service in the area of Highway 10 in the Town of Mono. Officers were able to locate the accused shortly thereafter. After a brief conversation, the officers quickly identified signs that led them to initiate an impaired driving investigation.

Vincent RATTANATRAY, a 22-year-old male, from Owen Sound has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

•       Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code

•      Failure or refusal to comply with demand

•      Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code

•      Possess unmarked cigarettes

•      Have care or control of vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

•      Fail to surrender insurance card

•      Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licence was suspended, and their vehicle impounded.

ALBANESE – Drive While Suspended, Impaired, Etc.

(MONO, ON) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Shelburne resident with impaired operation related offences as the result of a traffic stop.

On December 18, 2024, just after 9:45 a.m., Dufferin OPP officers were conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Highway 10 in the Town of Mono. Officers noted a driver believed to be a suspended and conducted a traffic stop. After a brief conversation the officers were quickly led to an impaired driving investigation.

Michael ALBANESE, a 36-year-old male, from Shelburne has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

•      Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

•      Driving while under suspension

The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licence was suspended, and their vehicle impounded.

Andre SANTOS Was Arrested

(MONO, ON) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Caledon resident with impaired operation related offences as the result of a police investigation.

On December 15, 2024, just after 4:00 a.m., Dufferin OPP officers were dispatched to a suspicious person/vehicle in the area of Airport Road in the Town of Mono. After a brief conversation, the officers were quickly led to an impaired driving investigation.

Matthew Tsiminos & Tonya REGO – Trespass & Theft

(MONO, ON) -Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a resident of Shelburne and a resident of Melancthon Township with multiple theft-related offenses following a police investigation.

On November 18, 2024, at approximately 9:00 a.m., Dufferin OPP officers were dispatched to a rural farm property on 30th Sideroad in the Town of Mono for a reported break and enter. Upon arrival, officers found a dismantled cedar rail fence, with approximately 400 cedar rails piled up, along with a missing weed trimmer. It appeared that the suspects had stacked the cedar rails, likely intending to return later.

On November 21, 2024, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Dufferin OPP responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle at the same property. Upon arrival, officers found that the gate had been opened and the lock was missing. As they entered the property, they observed a vehicle exiting and stopped it for investigation. The two suspects were determined to be responsible for both the initial break and enter and the theft.

Matthew Tsiminos, a 39-year-old male, from Shelburne has been charged with:

•      Trespassing at Night

•      Theft Over $5000

•      Mischief Under $ 5,000

•      Trafficking in property obtained by crime

•      Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – in Canada

•      Fail to Comply with Probation Order

Tonya REGO, a 47-year-old female, from Melancthon Township has been charged with

•      Trespassing at Night

•      Theft Over $5000

•      Mischief Under $ 5,000

•      Trafficking in property obtained by crime

•      Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – in Canada

Lianne RAMBARAN – Impaired Driving

(MONO, ON) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a 29-year-old Markdale resident with impaired operation related offences on Sunday afternoon.

On November 24, 2024, at approximately 4:13 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers were dispatched to a vehicle in a ditch on 5 Sideroad in the Town of Mono. Upon arrival, officers had a brief conversation with the driver, which quickly led to an impaired driving investigation.

Lianne RAMBARAN, a 29-year-old female, from Markdale has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

•      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Marvin SEYMOUR – Drunk Driving

(MONO, ON) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a Toronto resident with impaired operation-related offences following a traffic stop.

On November 20, 2024, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers were conducting general patrol when they observed a traffic violation. The officer initiated a traffic stop, which led to an impaired driving investigation.

Marvin SEYMOUR, a 48-year-old male, from Toronto has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•      Operate a motor vehicle without insurance

•      Obstruct plate

Sunil BHATTA Was Arrested

(MONO, ON) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Brampton resident with impaired operation related offences as the result of a traffic stop.

On October 13, 2024, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers were conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 10 in the Town of Mono. Officers noted a traffic violation and conducted a traffic stop. During their interaction officers were quickly led to an impaired driving investigation.

Sunil BHATTA, a 33-year-old male, from Brampton has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•      Drive motor vehicle – not equipped with ignition interlock device

•      Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

•      Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

•      Entire plate not plainly visible

•      Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

•      Fail to surrender insurance card

The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licence was suspended 90 days, and their vehicle impounded for 7 days.

Richard FAIRBAIRN – Impaired Driving

(MONO, ON) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an Orangeville resident with impaired operation related offences after they were involved in a motor vehicle collision (MVC).

On September 8, 2024, at approximately 9:45 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers responded to a MVC in the area of County Road 10 and Blindline in the Town of Mono. Police arrived on scene and were quickly led into an impaired driving investigation. 

Richard FAIRBAIRN, 50-year-old male, from Orangeville has been charged with:

•      Failure or refusal to comply with demand

•      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

The accused person is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville, to answer to the charges at a later date. Their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and their vehicles impounded for a period of 7 days.

Murder – Daniel DOMJANIC Arrested

(TOWN OF MONO, ON) – The Dufferin County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual in connection to a death investigation in the Town of Mono.

On September 17, 2024, at approximately 9:00 p.m., members of the Dufferin County OPP were called to a residence on Highway 10 to investigate a suspicious death.

The victim has been identified as 76-year-old Jelena DOMJANIC.

As a result of the investigation, Daniel DOMJANIC, a 49-year-old from the Town of Mono, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code (CC) with the following offence:

  • Second Degree Murder, section 235(1)

The accused is schedule to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on September 23, 2024.

The investigation remains ongoing. Residents can expect to see a police presence in the area of Highway 10 in the Town of Mono.

The investigation, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service, involves OPP members from the Forensic Identification Services, Dufferin County Detachment and Crime Unit.
