Fatal Collision Near Mount Forest Claims Life Of Mildmay Resident

(WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Wellington County Detachment are investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle.    

On Monday, October 6, 2025, at approximately 5:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to a report of an ejected motorcyclist on Sideroad 3 West, south of Mount Forest. A 68-year-old male from Mildmay was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Sideroad 3 West was closed between Sally Street and Concession 11 for several hours, while members of the OPP Technical Collision Investigation team and a Reconstructionist conducted an on-scene investigation. The roadway has since re-opened.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage from the area at the time of the incident is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Pride/Grooming Flag Stolen From School

(MILDMAY, ON) – South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a theft of a PRIDE flag at Sacred Heart School in Mildmay.

On Wednesday June 5, 2024, at approximately 11:55pm, an individual entered the Sacred Heart School property located at 18 Peter Street South, Mildmay in the Municipality of South Bruce and stole the PRIDE flag that was raised and attached to a flagpole.

Video surveillance is being reviewed and police are continuing to investigate. Police are asking for the public’s assistance in reviewing home video footage at that date and time. 

The OPP want to remind the public that if they see anything suspicious to please contact police immediately. If anyone is found committing acts of theft, appropriate charges will be laid.

Drunk Driver Arrested In Mildmay

(MILDMAY, ON) – The South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested an impaired driver at a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) checkpoint.

On May 1, 2024, members of the South Bruce OPP were conducting a RIDE checkpoint in Mildmay. At approximately 12:03 a.m., police stopped a vehicle to check the sobriety of the driver. They were displaying signs of impairment. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and taken to a Qualified Breath Technician for breath tests.

Jason RAWN, 38-years-old, from the Municipality of South Bruce was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
