Disgraced Hanover Police Protect Chronic Offender Again! #HanoverHell

On Sunday, August 24th, 2025, members of the Hanover Police responded to a business in the 700 block of 7th Avenue regarding an unwanted person. On arrival police spoke with a well-known 31-year-old man of no fixed address. It was determined that the same man had been previously dealt with numerous times on the property after being told not to attend. Police arrested the man for trespassing and breaching his probation (failure to keep the peace). He was subsequently held in custody pending a bail hearing in Walkerton.

Hanover Police Continue Keeping Public In Dark – Refuse To Name Names

On Monday, May 19th, 2025, Hanover Police while on patrol observed an improperly plated motorcycle on 7th Avenue. The driver was stopped and could not produce an insurance card, permit for the vehicle or a valid driver’s license. Hanover Police have charged a 42-year-old Owen Sound man with multiple offences under the Highway Traffic Act and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. He was issued several Provincial Offence Act notices.

Hanover Haven For Criminals – Police Protect Criminals Not Community

On Monday, May 19th, 2025, members of the Hanover Police Service responded to a mischief complaint in the 100 block of 10th Street. Through investigation, police determined a 45-year-old man of no fixed address threw a rock at the window of a parked vehicle. The window was broken as a result. Hanover Police located the man and arrested him for Mischief. He was further charged with breaching the terms of his probation (failure to keep the peace). The man was held in custody pending a bail hearing in Walkerton.

HPS Issues Warning

Hanover Police continue to investigate a fraud which occurred on Monday, May 12th, 2025. The victim in this fraud was contacted by a person saying they could fix his Ticketmaster account. The victim had been having issues with his Ticketmaster account so agreed to pay to fix the problem in Xbox Gift Cards. The problem was not fixed, and police were contacted. Hanover Police are reminding citizens to be cautious when providing money for services. Reputable companies are not going to request payment in gift cards.   If anyone has information about these frauds, they are asked to contact the Hanover Police Service or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or by submitting a secure Web Tip.

Hanover Police Protect Identity Of 32 Year Old Repeat Offender Again #JobSecurity

On Thursday, May 15th, 2025, Hanover Police responded to an unwanted person call in the 800 block of 10th Street. On arrival, police observed a well-known 32-year-old Hanover man walking on the property of a business he was on court ordered conditions not to attend. The man was arrested without incident and charged under the Criminal Code with breaching his probation. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing in Walkerton.

Hanover Haven For Criminal Anonymity

On Wednesday, December 25th, 2024, Hanover Police while on patrol observed a suspicious vehicle around 10th Street. Police attempted to stop the vehicle which continued driving eventually pulling into a parking lot. As a result of police observations, a 20-year-old Brockton man was arrested for Impaired Driving. He later provided samples of this breath which were nearly twice the legal limit of alcohol. The driver’s license was suspended for 90-days, and his vehicle impounded. He was released with an upcoming court date in Walkerton.

Hanover Man Charged With Theft – Police Withhold Name

On Wednesday, January 1st, 2025, members of the Hanover Police Service received a theft report. The victim told police that an associate had been visiting and after they left a cellular phone was missing. Police gathered evidence and later located the suspect, a 38-year-old Hanover man. Hanover Police have charged the man under the Criminal Code with Theft and Breach of Probation. He was provided a court date in Walkerton and released from custody.

On Sunday, December 8th, 2024, members of the Hanover Police while on patrol observed a suspicious male around 10th Avenue. On approach police recognized the 35-year-old man who was bound by court conditions not to be in the Town of Hanover. On seeing police, the man attempted to flee but was apprehended. Hanover Police have charged the man under the Criminal Code with multiple charges of Fail to Comply and Resist Arrest. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing in Walkerton.

Police viewed video surveillance which showed a well-known 40-year-old Hanover man taking product and making no attempt to pay. Police later located and arrested the man charging him under the Criminal Code with Theft and Possession of Stolen Property. He was given a court date in Walkerton and released from custody.

Hanover Police Refuse To Aid Citizen, Then Arrest Them

On Sunday, December 8th, 2024, police while dealing with another matter were approached by two males on foot. The males requested a ride home from police and were obviously under the influence of alcohol. Police provided advice to call a local taxi. One male became confrontational and refused to continue on his way. He was arrested for Public Intoxication and charged under the Liquor Licence Control Act. He was held in custody until sober and issued a Provincial Offence Notice.

Violent Repeat Offender Released: Hanover Police Withhold Name #LockYourDoors

On Sunday, December 1st, 2024, Hanover Police responded to a disturbance in the 500 block of 14th Street. Through investigation police formed grounds to believe that a 23-year-old female had assaulted another person. The victim did not require medical attention. The female was later released from police custody but returned to the victim’s residence and assaulted them again. This time the female was arrested and held for a bail hearing in Walkerton. Her charges include Assault X2, Mischief and Fail to Comply. All charges were under the Criminal Code.

Hanover Police Withhold Name Of Repeat Offender

On Saturday, November 30th, 2024, members of the Hanover Police while on patrol observed a vehicle fail to stop at the intersection of 12th Street and 10th Avenue. The vehicle was stopped, and the driver’s license was determined to be suspended under the Highway Traffic Act and Criminal Code. Hanover Police charged a 65-year-old Hanover man under the Criminal Code with Prohibited Operation of a Motor Vehicle. He was further charged under the Highway Traffic Act. He was later released with an upcoming court date in Walkerton.

Hanover Police Withhold Name Of Drunk Driver

On Friday, December 6th, 2024, Hanover Police received a report of a possible impaired driver. Police located the vehicle on 10th Street and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was subsequently arrested and provided samples of her breath which were over the legal limit of alcohol. Police have charged a 29-year-old Ayton woman under the Criminal Code with Impaired Driving and Over 80mgs of Alcohol. Her license has been suspended for 90-days and her vehicle impounded. She was released with an upcoming court date in Walkerton.

Repeat Offender Arrested Again – HPS Withhold Name

On Tuesday, November 19th, 2024, Hanover Police while on patrol conducted a traffic stop on 7th Avenue. On approach police observed a male attempting to hide in the backseat. He was identified as a 33-year-old Hanover man. The man was on several conditions pertaining to numerous matters currently before the courts. One condition was a curfew to be inside his residence which he was violating. Hanover Police arrested the man charging him under the Criminal Code with Failure to Comply. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
