Brandon CONDREY – Assault With Weapon

(GRAVENHURST, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a local man after a theft from a local retailer in Gravenhurst.

On Thursday February 12, 2026 at 1:20 p.m., Bracebridge OPP officers began an investigation into a theft in progress at a local retail store on Muskoka Road South in Gravenhurst. After being confronted by store staff, the male suspect took off on foot with a variety of items. Members of the public kept track of the suspect from a safe distance and police arrived within minutes. The suspect began experiencing a medical emergency and was transported to hospital in police custody, where he was treated.

Police have charged 33-year-old Brandon CONDREY of Gravenhurst with:

–      Theft under $5000

–      Assault with a weapon

–      Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

He was held in custody after a bail hearing and is now scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.

Christopher LAMORIE Was Arrested Again #3Strikes

(GRAVENHURST, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged a second person after investigation into multiple thefts in the town of Gravenhurst.

Bracebridge OPP has been investigating multiple incidents of theft from 5 separate retail locations in the town of Gravenhurst that took place between December 22, 2025 and February 11, 2026. Local retailers estimate that they have lost thousands of dollars in product during that time.

On Wednesday, February 11, 2026, police arrested and charged a Gravenhurst woman and on Monday, February 16, 2026, police arrested and charged her partner, 45-year-old Christopher LAMORIE, of Gravenhurst, with the following:

  • Robbery
  • Theft Under $5000 – four counts
  • Fail to Comply with Probation – six counts

He was held for a bail hearing and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on February 16, 2026 to answer to his charges.

Drug Bust – James LEE & Cynthia SHEFFIELD

(GRAVENHURST, ON) – Two individuals are facing multiple drug‑related charges after the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) seized a significant quantity of suspected drugs during an investigation in Gravenhurst.

During the winter months of 2025 and 2026, the North East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) initiated an investigation into the distribution of illicit drugs throughout the Almaguin Highlands and Muskoka areas.

On Tuesday February 10, 2026, at approximately 11:00 am, officers located a vehicle associated with the investigation parked at a plaza on Muskoka Road South in Gravenhurst. Officers approached the vehicle and arrested the two occupants.

A search of the vehicle was conducted, resulting in the seizure of approximately 1.5 kg of suspected fentanyl with an approximate street value of $295,000, 6 kg of suspected amphetamine tablets valued at approximately $75,000, 66 grams of suspected cocaine valued at approximately $6,600, as well as $1,070 in Canadian currency, three cell phones, and a digital scale.

As a result of the investigation, James LEE, 60 years old, of Bolton, has been charged with:

·        Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine

·        Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – amphetamine

·        Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl

·        Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

Cynthia SHEFFIELD, 43 years old, of Huntsville, has been charged with:

·        Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine

·        Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – amphetamine

·        Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl

Both accused were held for bail and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice on February 11, 2026

Pervert Alert: Benjamin Jon Murdoch SCHEETZ – Child Exploitation

(GRAVENHURST, ON) – A local resident is facing child pornography charges following an investigation by the Muskoka Crime Unit.

In November 2025, the Muskoka Crime Unit began a child pornography investigation and on Friday, December 19, 2025, executed a search warrant at a residence located on McEachern Lane in the Town of Gravenhurst. During the search, officers, with the support of the OPP Digital Forensic Unit (DFU) and the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit (CSEU), seized several electronic devices for examination.

As a result, on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, police arrested and charged 43-year-old Benjamin Jon Murdoch SCHEETZ, of Gravenhurst with the following:

  • Imports, distributes, sells or possesses for the purpose of distribution or sale of child sexual abuse and exploitation material – two counts
  • Possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material
  • Access any child sexual abuse and exploitation material – two counts

The accused was released at a bail hearing and is now scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.

Amee PAULETTE Was Arrested Again 3Strikes

(GRAVENHURST, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged a local woman with respect to multiple thefts in the town of Gravenhurst.

Bracebridge OPP has been investigating multiple incidents of thefts from 6 separate retail locations in the town of Gravenhurst that took place between December 22, 2025 and February 10, 2026. Local retailers estimate that they have lost thousands of dollars in product during that time.

On February 11, 2026, police arrested and charged 41-year-old Amee PAULETTE of Gravenhurst with the following:

  • Robbery
  • Theft Under $5000 X 8
  • Fail to Comply with Probation X 10
  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Resist Peace Officer

She was held for a bail hearing and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on February 12, 2026 to answer to her charges.

Child Play With Toy Gun At Home Triggers Lockdown

(GRAVENHURST, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a concern about a weapon at an address near Bay Street in Gravenhurst.

On January 28, 2026, at 5:30 p.m., Bracebridge OPP officers responded to a report from a member of the public on Bay Street in Gravenhurst that they believed a person had pointed a firearm at the street from an apartment near Bay Street and Muskoka Road South.

In the interest of public safety, police closed the nearby roads and conducted an investigation into the matter. The involved individual was determined to be a youth and was playing with an imitation firearm. The youth and their family were co-operative and reflective and the area was soon re-opened to traffic and cleared.

Bracebridge OPP appreciates the patience and co-operation from all members of the community.

2 Dead – Robyn TONELLO Arrested

(GRAVENHURST, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges in relation to a fatal collision that occurred on Muskoka Road 169 in Gravenhurst on August 5, 2025.

On August 5, 2025 at 6:45 p.m. Bracebridge OPP officers along with Muskoka EMS and Gravenhurst Fire Department, responded to 9-1-1 calls from members of the public about a two vehicle collision that occurred on Muskoka Road 169 near Narrows Road in Gravenhurst. The collision claimed two lives, that of a 50-year-old Gravenhurst man and a 61-year-old Muskoka Lakes Township man.

Investigations of this nature are complex and time consuming and on January 12, 2026, police arrested and charged 35-year-old Robyn TONELLO, of Ramara Twp, with:

–      Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Death X 2

–      Operation while Impaired- Over 80.

He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on January 14, 2026 for a bail hearing.

Morton SMITH – Impaired Driving

(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged another driver with impaired driving at a RIDE program.

On December 31, 2025, at 1:20 p.m. OPP officers with the Traffic Investigation Management Team (T.I.M.E.) were conducting a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program on South Kahshe Lake Road in Gravenhurst. Officers soon entered into an impaired driving investigation and subsequently arrested and charged 49-year-old Morton SMITH of Severn Bridge, ON with Impaired Operation – Drug, driving while under suspension and driving a vehicle with cannabis readily available. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on January 20, 2026 to answer to his charges.

Herbert PELEIKIS Arrested For Drunk Driving Following Hit & Run

(GRAVENHURST, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a driver with impaired operation after a collision was reported.

On November 13, 2025, at 6:50 p.m. Bracebridge OPP officers responded to a report from a member of the public that a vehicle had collided with construction equipment on Evans Avenue E in Gravenhurst and left the scene. Officers located the vehicle nearby and subsequently arrested and charged 69-year-old Herbert PELEIKIS of Gravenhurst, ON with Impaired Operation, Impaired-Over 80, Operation while Prohibited and Failure to stop after accident. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on December 2, 2025 to answer to his charges.

Michael PANTE Was Arrested Again #3Strikes

(GRAVENHURST, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Bracebridge man with impaired driving on Hallowe’en.

On October 31, 2025, at 7:45 p.m., Bracebridge OPP officers responded to a concern from a member of the public about the driving behaviour of a motorist in the area of John and Peter Streets of Gravenhurst, while many children were out trick-or-treating.  Police quickly located the vehicle on Muskoka Road South and conducted a traffic stop in a retail parking lot.

Police have charged 31-year-old Michael PANTE of Bracebridge with the following:

  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  • Operation While Impaired
  • Over 80
  • Stunt Driving
  • Fail to Comply with Probation
  • Novice Driver- B.A.C. above zero

He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on November 18, 2025 to answer to his charges.

Raymond LAURIN – Impaired Driving

(GRAVENHURST, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a wrong way driver with impaired driving.

On October 26, 2025, at 2:15 a.m. a Bracebridge OPP officer conducting patrols of Highway 11 in Gravenhurst located a vehicle travelling the wrong way, going southbound in the northbound lanes. Officers were able to conduct a traffic stop and subsequently arrested and charged 40-year-old Raymond LAURIN of Midland, ON with Impaired Operation, Over 80 and Dangerous Operation. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on November 18, 2025 to answer to his charges.

Two Arrested After Shoplift Call Leads to Firearm, Fraud Charges

(GRAVENHURST, ON) – The Bracebridge detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged two people with several offenses after investigating a shoplift complaint in Gravenhurst.

On October 9, 2025, at 2:40 p.m. Bracebridge OPP officers responded to a report of a theft from a local licensed retailer located on Edward Street in Gravenhurst. Store staff were quick to gather key information, and officers located the involved vehicle at a service centre on Highway 11 North a short time later.

As a result of their investigation, police have charged 35-year-old Matthew JOHNSTON of Haliburton with:

  • Theft under $5000
  • Personation with intent to avoid arrest, prosecution or obstruct justice
  • Obstruct peace officer
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Operate motor vehicle without insurance
  • Having care or control of a motor vehicle with unsealed container of liquor.

He was held in custody and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge for a bail hearing on October 10, 2025 to answer to his charges.

Police have also charged 37-year-old Amanda CORBY of Highland Grove, ON with:

  • Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
  • Obstruct peace officer
  • Fail to comply with probation order.

She was held in custody and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge for a bail hearing on October 10, 2025 to answer to her charges.

Gyorgy LAKATOS Arrested Again & Facing Numerous Charges #ItsTime

(GRAVENHURST, ON) – The Bracebridge detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one man in relation to several thefts in Gravenhurst.

On October 7, 2025, at 3:40 p.m. Bracebridge OPP officers responded to reports of a theft in progress at a local grocery store located on Edward Street in Gravenhurst. The store staff recognized the individual as a person who had stolen from the store previously and acted quickly. Police attended and their investigation revealed that the same suspect was responsible for a sizeable theft from another grocery store in Gravenhurst earlier that day. The same suspect is alleged to have stolen thousands of dollars of product from Gravenhurst grocery stores on September 8th and 17th, 2025.

Police have charged 59-year-old Gyorgy LAKATOS of Scarborough, ON with Theft Under $5000 X 4 and Fail to Comply with Probation X 6.  He was held in custody and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge for a bail hearing on October 9, 2025 to answer to his charges.

5 More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged five drivers with impaired driving during the first half of September.

On September 5, 2025, at 11:20 p.m. a Bracebridge OPP officer was conducting general patrol in the town of Bracebridge and became concerned about the driving behaviour of a vehicle on Manitoba Street. The officer conducted a traffic stop on Hiram Street and subsequently arrested and charged 44-year-old Seyed HASHEMI of Newmarket, ON with Impaired Operation and Over 80. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on October 7, 2025 to answer to his charges.

On September 6, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. two Bracebridge OPP officers were driving on Muskoka Road 118 in Bracebridge when the a vehicle caught their attention, driving in a concerning way. The officers conducted a traffic stop on Morrison Street and subsequently arrested and charged 50-year-old David RICHARDSON of Bracebridge, ON with Impaired Operation and Over 80. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on September 30, 2025 to answer to his charges.

On September 7, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. Bracebridge OPP officers were dispatched to reports from members of the public that a vehicle had collided with a guard rail on Golden Beach Road in Bracebridge and the occupants had left the scene on foot. Officers located the individuals and subsequently arrested and charged 26-year-old Adam LEGAULT of Muskoka Lakes Township, ON with Impaired Operation, Over 80, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Fail to Remain. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on October 21, 2025 to answer to his charges.

On September 8, 2025, at 9:50 p.m., Bracebridge OPP officers were conducting a RIDE program on Bay Street in Gravenhurst and after an interaction with a vehicle, arrested and charged the driver. Police have charged 33-year-old Ryan MORROW of Gravenhurst with Impaired Operation, Over 80 and Fail to Comply with Probation. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on October 7, 2025 to answer to his charges.

On September 13, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. Bracebridge OPP officers were contacted by a member of the public about their concerns about a vehicle parked near his laneway on Highway 11 South in Gravenhurst. Officers attended and located the vehicle and the driver nearby. Police arrested and charged 42-year-old Adam MANNING of Gravenhurst with Impaired Operation and Over 80. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on October 21, 2025 to answer to his charges.

Caleb GODFREY Was Arrested – Details Released

(GRAVENHURST, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has taken another impaired driver off Muskoka roads.

On August 20, 2025, at 9:30 p.m. a Bracebridge OPP officer was conducting proactive patrols on Muskoka Road 169 near Shady Lane in Gravenhurst and noticed a vehicle travelling in an unsafe manner. The officer conducted a traffic stop and subsequently arrested and charged 27-year-old Caleb GODFREY of Oshawa, ON with Impaired Operation- Drug, Failure/Refusal to Comply with Demand, Possession of Schedule I Substance (opioid) X 6.

He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on October 14, 2025 to answer to his charges.
