Another Fatal Collision

(AMARANTH, ON) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Dufferin County EMS, and Fire Services attended a serious two-vehicle collision in the Township of Amaranth.

On Friday, October 10, 2025, at approximately 8:45 p.m., officers attended County Road 10 near County Road 12 in Amaranth for the report of a serious two-vehicle collision. The collision involved two sport utility vehicles (SUV). A Honda SUV was traveling westbound and collided with an eastbound Toyota SUV.

Sadly, as a result of the collision the driver of the Honda, a 61-year-old, male from Grand Valley was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

The driver of the Toyota, a 36-year-old female was transported to a Toronto area hospital with serious injuries. There were two children in the Toyota who were transported to local hospital with unknown injuries.

The Traffic Collision Investigation (TCI) team of the OPP was brought in to investigate. The investigation is continuing and anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dash cam footage is asked to contact the Dufferin OPP 1-888-310-1122.

Adam LOWE Was Arrested

(CENTRE WELLINGTON TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge a Grand Valley resident criminally stemming from a traffic stop.

On September 17, 2025, at approximately 8:45 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP were performing a proactive traffic enforcement initiative, which resulted in a traffic stop being conducted on Scotland Street within Fergus.

As a result of the investigation, Adam LOWE, a 37-year-old of Grand Valley is charged under the Criminal Code, Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance – cocaine
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand
  • Use plate not authorized for vehicle
  • Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit
  • Driving while under suspension

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on October 24, 2025.

Ryland DAVIES – Impaired Operation

(GRAND VALLEY, ON) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Grand Valley resident with impaired operation related offences as the result of a motor vehicle collision.

On March 29, 2025, just after 6:30 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers responded to a motor vehicle collision near Leeson Street in the Town of Grand Valley. Upon locating the driver and engaging in a brief conversation, the officers observed signs that prompted them to initiate an impaired driving investigation.

Ryland DAVIES, a 42-year-old male, from Grand Valley has been charged with:

•      Failure or refusal to comply with demand

•      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licence was suspended, and their vehicle impounded.

36 Year Old Facing Impared Charges

(GRAND VALLEY, ON) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Grand Valley resident with impaired operation related offences as the result of a traffic complaint.

On December 21, 2024, just before 10:00 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers received a traffic complaint about a possible impaired driver in the Town of Grand Valley. Dufferin OPP located the vehicle in question and conducted a traffic stop. After a brief conversation the officers were quickly led to an impaired driving investigation.

Michael DE CARTERET FEIT, a 36-year-old male, from Grand Valley has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

•      Having care or control of a motor vehicle with open container of liquor

•      Possess unmarked cigarettes

The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licence was suspended, and their vehicle impounded.
