George PANTON Was Arrested

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a Brantford resident with impaired driving-related offences following a traffic complaint.

On June 10, 2025, shortly after 10:00 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers received a traffic complaint in the area of Airport Road in the Township of Mulmur. Officers located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. Upon speaking with the male driver, officers observed signs of impairment and began an impaired driving investigation.

George PANTON, a 45-year-old male, from Brantford has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•      Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

•      Drive – hand held communication device

•      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

•      Drive motor vehicle – no licence

The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licence was suspended, and their vehicle impounded.

Shots Fired In Home Invasion

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – Officers from the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating two home invasions that occurred in the Town of Mono on Shady Glen Lane.

The first incident took place on May 23, 2025, shortly before 9:00 p.m. Police were dispatched to a residence for a reported home invasion in progress. Prior to their arrival, the suspect fled the scene. A preliminary investigation revealed that an unknown suspect forcibly entered the home, displayed a firearm, and demanded valuables from the victim. Shots were fired at this scene.

The second incident occurred just a few hours later, on May 24, 2025, shortly after 12:00 a.m., at another residence on the same street. Again, a lone suspect forced entry into the home, displayed a firearm, and demanded valuables. A struggle ensued between the suspect and the victim, during which gunshots were reported. Police arrived shortly afterward and took the suspect into custody at the scene.

Nathan NEZBETH, a 24-year-old male, from Mono has been charged with:

•      Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court X 3

•      Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or Ammunition

•      Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

•      Pointing a Firearm

•      Unauthorized Poss of a Firearm

•      Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo

•      Mischief – destroys or damages property X 2

•      Break, Enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence

•      Assault Causing Bodily Harm

•      Assault with A Weapon

•      Assault a Peace Officer X 2

•      Obstruct Peace Officer X 2

•      Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon

•      Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm

Juan AMEZCUA – Drunk Driving

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a Melancthon resident with impaired operation-related offences following a traffic stop.

On May 19, 2025, shortly before 1:30 a.m., Dufferin OPP officers were conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Owen Sound Street in the Town of Shelburne when they observed a vehicle of concern and initiated a traffic stop. Upon speaking with the male driver, officers observed signs of impairment and began an impaired driving investigation.

Juan AMEZCUA, a 40-year-old male, from Melancthon has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•      Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

•     Drive with improper headlights

•      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licence was suspended, and their vehicle impounded.

Upon speaking with the male driver, officers noted signs of impairment and initiated an impaired driving investigation

Jesse LETOFSKY, a 42-year-old male, from Toronto has been charged with:

•      Operate a motor vehicle without insurance

•      Speeding 1 – 49 Km/h over posted limit

Kaelan WILLIAMSON Facing Numerous Charges

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Shelburne resident with impaired operation related offences as the result of a traffic complaint.

On May 7, 2025, just before 7:00 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers received a traffic complaint near Airport Road in the Town of Mono. Officers located the vehicle on Highway 89 in the Township of Mulmur and initiated a traffic stop. Upon contact with the male driver, officers observed signs of impairment and began an impaired driving investigation.

Kaelan WILLIAMSON, a 26-year-old male, from Shelburne has been charged with:

•      Knowingly give invalid insurance card

•      Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

•      Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

•      Fail to notify change of address

More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(DUFFERIN COUNTY, ON) – The Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two drivers with impaired operation related offences, within a half-hour of each other.

On May 6, 2025, around midnight, officers from Dufferin OPP were conducting a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) spot check in both the Town of Grand Valley and the Town of Orangeville.

Just before midnight in the Town of Grand Valley a driver entered a RIDE at the corner of Water and William Street and after speaking with the driver, police entered an impaired operation investigation.

John BRUNNING, a 30-year-old from Erin has been charged with:

•      Adult Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

•      Adult Drive motor vehicle with open container of liquor

•      Adult Careless storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition

As a result of this encounter two firearms have been seized.

In the Town of Orangeville, just after midnight, a RIDE spot check was held on Second Avenue. A driver entered the RIDE and after speaking with police, an impaired operation investigation commenced.

Sean CUNNINGHAM, a 25-year-old from Orangeville has been charged with:

•      Adult Operation while impaired- alcohol and drugs

The accused are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville to answer to the charges.

Surjit JOHAL Was Arrested

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an Orangeville resident with impaired operation related offences as the result of a traffic complaint.

On April 24, 2025, at approximately 11:44 a.m., Dufferin OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint in the area of Mono-Amaranth Townline in the Town of Mono. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the complainant, who reported observing a male parked in a vehicle who appeared to have sustained head trauma.

Officers then made contact with the male, who was being treated by paramedics at the scene. During their interaction, officers observed signs of impairment and subsequently initiated an impaired driving investigation.

Surjit JOHAL, a 24-year-old male, from Orangeville has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Prabhnoor SANDHU – Hit & Run, Drunk Driving

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Shelburne resident with impaired operation related offences as the result of a traffic complaint.

On April 13, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch near Blind Line and 20 Sideroad in the Town of Mono. Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle off the roadway.

Following a brief search of the area, officers found a lone male matching the suspect description hiding in a nearby swamp. After speaking with him, officers observed signs of impairment and subsequently initiated an impaired driving investigation.

•      Possess unmarked cigarettes

•      Fail to surrender insurance card

Ravinder SINGH – Theft

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a Brampton resident with theft-related offenses following an investigation at a retail liquor store in Orangeville.

On February 28, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers were dispatched to a liquor store on Broadway in the Town of Orangeville, where loss prevention officers had a male suspect under arrest for theft. Dufferin OPP Officers arrived on scene, spoke with the involved parties, and after a brief conversation, took over the theft investigation.

Ravinder SINGH, a 36-year-old male, from Brampton has been charged with:

•      Theft Under $5000- SHOPLIFTING

•      Possession of a credit card
