CKPS Daily Update 23Sept2025

On March 16, 2025, at approximately 01:48 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a call of suspicious activity on Wyandott Street, Chatham (CK25015328).

The investigation revealed, through surveillance footage, a 53-year-old male from Chatham observed two individuals attempting to gain unauthorized access to a parked vehicle. The suspects were seen trying various car door handles in an attempt to locate unlocked vehicles.

Officers attended the area and apprehended two suspects, a 35-year-old male and a 42-year-old female, both from Chatham. The individuals were charged with the following offences:

  • Count 1: Trespassing at Night
  • Count 2: Attempt – Theft under $5000

The individuals were transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where they given a court date of April 14, 2025. The individuals failed to attend this court date and a warrant was issued for their arrest.

On September 22, 2025, at approximately 11:38 hrs, officers located and arrested the 42-year-old female accused who was the subject of an outstanding warrant. She was charged additionally with the following offence:

  • Count 3: Failure to Comply with Undertaking

She was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where she was later released with a scheduled future court date of October 23, 2025.

An outstanding warrant remains in effect for the 53-year-old male from Chatham.

Arrest FTC – CK25057494

Date: September 22, 2025, Time: 18:57 hrs, Location: Bruce Street, Wallaceburg

On September 11, 2025, a 42-year-old male from Leamington entered into a Conditional Sentence Order within the Municipality of Chatham-Kent and was ordered to abide by the conditions, including “Keep the peace and be of good behaviour.”

On September 22, 2025, at approximately 18:57 hrs, Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to an altercation involving two individuals.

Upon arrival, officers located a 42-year-old male. Through investigation, it was revealed that the male was bound by several court-orders conditions, prohibiting him from communicating with the other party involved, a 42-year-old female from Wallaceburg.

Furthermore, police established reasonable grounds to believe that the accused failed to abide by his conditions outlined in his Conditional Sentence Order by breaching his undertaking, thus  failing to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He was subsequently charged with the following offence:

  • Failure to Comply with Undertaking x 2

He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he is currently held for bail.

Chatham-Kent Daily Update 18Sept2025

On September 17, 2025, at approximately 13:33 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a break and enter at a residence in Chatham.

Upon arrival, officers observed damage to a window that had been forced open. Police obtained access to the residence and located a 33-year-old female from Chatham-Kent inside.

The suspect was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Count 1: Break, enter a dwelling with intent to commit an indictable offence

Further investigation revealed that the suspect was bound by a probation order that included conditions not to be near the residence. As a result, she was additionally charged with the following offence:

  • Count 2: Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where she is currently being held for bail.

Warrant- CK25056390/CK25056396

Date: September 17, 2025, Time: 00:23hrs, Location: Grand Avenue West, Chatham

On September 18, 2025, the Chatham-Kent Police Service conducted a person stop on Grand Avenue, West, Chatham.

A 42-year-old female from Chatham was located. The individual initially provided false identification to officers. Following further investigation, it was confirmed that the individual possessed several outstanding warrants for her arrest.

Subsequently, she was arrested and charged with the following offence:

Count 1: Obstruct Peace Officer

The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where she is currently being held for bail.

Chatham-Kent Police Daily Report

The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events, including arrests, investigations, and other notable occurrences.

Arrest/Warrants – CK25050015

Date: August 20, 2025, Time: 16:11hrs, Location: Jeffrey Street, Chatham

On October 4, 2024, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a break and enter at a commercial property on King Street, Chatham (CK24050448). It was reported that several items were taken from the property.

Following an investigation and a review of surveillance footage, the accused was identified as, a 49-year-old female from Chatham-Kent. On October 8, 2024, at approximately 14:04 hrs, police located and arrested the individual. She was charged with the following offence:

  • Break, Enter a Place- Commit Indictable Offence of Theft

The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where she was released with a scheduled court date of November 4, 2024. The individual failed to attend this court date and a warrant was issued for her arrest along with the following charge:

  • Failure to Attend Court

On January 8, 2025, the Chatham-Ket Police Service responded to a report of theft at retail store in Chatham (CK25002645).

During the investigation, surveillance footage confirmed the accused was the same individual. The accused entered the store on multiple occasions and left without paying for various items, bypassing the checkout area. A warranted was issued for her arrest.

On February 5, 2025, the accused was located and arrested by the police. She was charged with the following offences

  •   Theft Under $5,000
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters. She was released with a scheduled court date of March 24, 2025, which she failed to attend (RM25000979). Subsequently, an endorsed warrant was issued for her arrest.

On August 20, 2025, at approximately, 16:11 hrs, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service arrested the accused on several outstanding warrants. The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where she is currently being held for bail.

Arrest/Over 80 – CK25050063

Date: August 20, 2025, Time: 20:35hrs., Location: Water Street, Wallaceburg

On August 21, 2025, at approximately 20:35 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service conducted a traffic stop and located an intoxicated driver. The driver, 58-year-old male from Chatham, was operating the vehicle and failed a roadside screening test.

The individual was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration Over 80

The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters for further testing. He was later released with a scheduled court date of September 4, 2025.

R.I.D.E Program

R.I.D.E – CK25050143

Date: August 20, 2025, Time: 02:51hrs, Location: Lacroix Street, Chatham

On August 20, 2025, the Chatham-Kent Police Service conducted a R.I.D.E Program (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) in Chatham. A total of 27 vehicles were stopped and checked by officers. As a result, 4 drivers were issued cautions under the Highway Traffic Act.

The R.I.D.E. program is part of ongoing efforts to promote road safety and prevent impairs driving.

80 Year Arrested For Cocaine Possesion

An 80-year-old man from Midhurst is facing drug possession and drug trafficking charges after he was found to be in possession of cocaine.

Last night, just before 7:30 p.m., Barrie Police received a call for a report of a male who was observed asleep behind the wheel of his car. As police arrived at the parking lot of the Yonge St. coffee shop, police located the car in question with the engine running and driver fast asleep. As police looked into the car, they observed a small bag that contained a white powdery substance and paraphernalia related to the sale of illegal drugs.

The driver was awakened and placed under arrest for Possession of Schedule 1 Substance – Cocaine. A search of the car also revealed a quantity of suspected cocaine and Canadian currency. Further to that, the driver exhibited signs of impairment and was issued a Field Sobriety Test, which he failed.

The male was transported to Barrie Police Headquarters where the investigation continued. A Drug Recognition Evaluator conducted a series of tests and determined that the male was not impaired.

The accused has been charged with Possession of Schedule I Substance – Cocaine and Trafficking in Schedule I Substance – Cocaine. He was later released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Barrie on September 10, 2025.

Barrie Police wish to thank the citizen who contacted police and shared their concerns about this sleeping driver as their actions likely prevented a serious incident from taking place.

Arrest/IPV Assault – CK25049546

Date: August 18, 2025, Time: 12:25hrs, Location: Chatham

On August 18, 2025, at approximately 12:25 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a domestic dispute.

Upon investigation, it was determined that multiple recent and historic incidents of abuse had occurred between the accused, a 27-year-old male from Chatham and the complainant 25-year-old also from Chatham. Officers also observed visible injuries along with property damage at the residence.

As a result of the investigation, the accused was charged with the following:

  • Assault x 4
  • Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm X2
  • Mischief Under $5,000

The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he is currently being held for bail.

Arrest/Warrants – CK25049560

Date: August 18, 2025, Time: 13:33 hrs, Location: Dufferin Avenue, Wallaceburg

On March 10, 2025, the Chatham-Kent Police Service received a report regarding threatening messages sent through a social media platform. The messages were directed at a local resident and contained threats to cause bodily harm.

The investigation revealed that the suspect, a 28-year-old female from Walpole Island sent threatening communication to the victim, a 30-year-old female from Wallaceburg, escalating the level of concern.

A warrant was issued for the arrest of the accused.

On August 18, 2025, at approximately 13:33 hrs, the accused attended the Chatham-Kent Police Service in Wallaceburg and turned herself in on the endorsed outstanding warrant. She was charged with the following offence:

  • Count 1 – Uttering threats to cause bodily harm

The individual was later released with a scheduled court date of September 23, 2025.

Date: May 26, 2025, Time: 18:14hrs., Location: Park Avenue East, Chatham

On May 17, 2025, at approximately 14:56 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of fraud at a local business in Chatham. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a Loss Prevention Officer who provided surveillance footage of a 44-year-old male suspect from Chatham involved in suspicious activity (CK25028607).
The footage showed the suspect entering the store, selecting an item for purchase, and proceeding to the customer service desk where he claimed he was returning the item. A refund was issued to the suspect’s credit card, and he then exited the store.

After reviewing the video footage and transaction records, officers formed reasonable and probable grounds to charge the individual.
On May 26, 2025, at approximately 18:14 hrs, officers attended the suspect’s residence. He was arrested for Fraud Under $5,000 in connection with the prior incident (CK25028607) at the local business.
The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters. He was released with a future court date of June 23, 2025.

CKPS Daily Update 22May2025

Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 225 calls for service in the last 24 hours. 3 people were arrested.

Break and Enter/Arrest – CK25029612

On Thursday May 22nd, 2025, police responded to the area of Northland Dr, Chatham after receiving reports of a suspicious person entering a home under construction. The male suspect fled the area prior to police arrival.

Based on descriptors provided to police, the suspect male was located a short distance away and subsequently placed under arrest after a preliminary investigation was conducted. The 27-year-old Chatham man was charged with several Criminal Code offences including, Break and Enter, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000, Mischief Under $5000 and Breach of Probation.

The 27-year-old Chatham man was held in police custody pending a bail hearing.

Impaired/Arrest – CK25029721

On the evening of May 22nd, 2025, police responded to the area of King St W, Chatham in response to a traffic complaint of a possible impaired driver. Information received was that a vehicle operating on King St W was swerving and may have also struck a sign. Police promptly located the subject vehicle in the area of St Clair St. in Chatham, where a traffic stop was initiated.

Through investigation, it was determined that the driver of the vehicle was impaired by alcohol, and they were subsequently arrested for Impaired Operation. The driver was then transported to police headquarters for further testing. Breath samples taken from the male driver registered above the legal limit and he was later charged with Over 80mgs of alcohol per 100ml of blood.

The 35-year-old Alberta man was later released from police custody with a future court date.

On March 17, 2025, at approximately 22:07 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service checked fifty vehicles. No tests were executed, and no Highway Traffic Act warnings were issued.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officers searched the area and located a 34-year-old male from Chatham and a 41-year-old female also from Chatham. The accused were arrested and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police headquarters where they were charged with one count of trespassing at night and one count of theft under $5000. The accused were released with a future court date of April 14th, 2025.

Details:
On March 15, 2025, at approximately 0146 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a call for service. The complainant in this matter, a 53-year-old male from Chatham, observed two parties on his security camera footage attempting to gain unauthorized access to his parked vehicle. The footage showed the suspects walking down the street, then walking on his property methodically trying door handles in an apparent attempt to find unlocked cars.

Date: March 16, 2025, Time: 10:50 hrs. Location: Doverdoon Drive., Chatham
Details:
On March 16, 2025, at approximately 10:50 hrs., while the Chatham -Kent Police Service was investigating a separate matter, it was discovered that a 27-year-old male from Doverdoon, was found to have a warrant for theft and possession under $5000. He was arrested by the Chatham-Kent Police Service and was released with a future court date of April 28, 2025.

Details:
On March 16, 2025, at approximately 16:29 hrs., while the Chatham-Kent Police Service was investigating a separate matter, it was discovered that a 39-year-old male from Dresden was wanted in St. Thomas for seven counts of failing to comply with his probation order. He was arrested and subsequently returned to the St. Thomas Police Service.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officers searched the area and located a 34-year-old male from Chatham and a 41-year-old female also from Chatham. The accused were arrested and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police headquarters where they were charged with one count of trespassing at night and one count of theft under $5000. Details:
A 37-year-old male from Dresden, the accused in a previous assault incident (CK25013859), was involved in a verbal dispute with a 41-year-old female victim, also from Dresden. The argument escalated in to a physical altercation, during which the victim suffered a laceration to the back of her head.
The accused turned himself in at the Chatham-Kent Police Service, Wallaceburg on March 10, 2025, at approximately 06:33 hrs. He was arrested based on the outstanding arrest warrant issued for his involvement in the prior incident. The accused has been charged with assault. He was released with a future court date of April 8, 2025.

Details:
On March 10, 2025, at approximately 10:08 hrs, a 34-year-old female from Thamesville, the subject of an endorsed warrant for impaired operation, with a blood alcohol level over 80 (CK25010429) turned herself in to the Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters. She was arrested based on her outstanding warrant for failing to attend court on March 3, 2025. She was released with a future court date of April 7, 2025.

On March 10, 2025, at approximately 22:57hrs., as a result of a traffic stop, a 36-year-old male from Wallaceburg, was arrested by the Chatham-Kent Police Service on an endorsed warrant for failing to comply with his probation order (CK25014298). Date: March 7, Time: 22:12hrs Location: Wellington Street, Chatham
Details:
•On March 7, 2025, at approximately 22:12hrs, a 35-year-old female from Dover Township, was located by the Chatham-Kent Police Service following a traffic stop for a Highway Traffic Act violation, where it was discovered that she was riding her bike without proper lights. Further investigation revealed that the accused had an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court. As a result, she was arrested and released with a future court date of April 7, 2025.

Assault- Case# CK25013942
Date: March 8, Time: 0136 hrs., Location: Wellington Street, Chatham
Details:
•On March 8, 2025, at approximately 01:36 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a call regarding a domestic assault involving a 41-year-old male from Chatham and a 19-year-old female from Windsor. The victim was physically assaulted by the accused during an argument. The accused was arrested and was charged with one count of Assault. He was released with conditions, and a future court date set for April 14, 2025.

Warrants -Case# CK25014106
Date: March 9, Time: 0015 hrs., Location: Kirk Street and Adelaide South, Chatham
Details:
•On March 9, 2025, at approximately 00:15 hrs., a 27-year-old female from Chatham was located by the Chatham-Kent Police Service following a person stop. Upon further investigations, it was revealed that the accused possessed an endorsed warrant for failing to comply with her probation order. Subsequently, she was arrested. She was later released with a future court date of April 28, 2025.

Warrants -Case# CK25014083
Date: March 9, Time: 20:57 hrs., Location: Wellington Street West, Chatham
Details:
•On March 9, 2025, at approximately 20:57 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service located a 34-year-old female from Chatham, who possessed an unendorsed warrant for failing to attend court. Subsequently, she was arrested and is currently held for bail.

R.I.D.E Program:
R.I.DE-Case# CK25013711
Date: March 7, Time: 20:57 hrs., Location: Wellington Street West, Chatham
Details:
•On March 7, 2025, at approximately 20:24hrs., a 56-year-old male from Port Lambton was stopped during Chatham-Kent Police Service RIDE program. Officers requested a breath sample from him using an Approved Screening Device (ASD), which resulted in a three (3) day licence suspension. The individual was also given a Highway Traffic Act violation, and his vehicle was towed from the scene.

Details:
On March 4, 2025, at approximately 0543 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service received a call from a local business owner in Chatham regarding a suspect captured on the business’s CCTV camera. The footage showed an individual stealing scrap metal from the owner’s property. The police located and arrested the suspect, who is a 54-year-old male from Chatham. He was charged with break and enter, an indictable offence. The accused was released and is scheduled to appear in court on April 7, 2025.

Bail Violations – Case# CK25012971/ CK25012982
Date: March 4, 2025, Time: 0916 hrs., Location: Grand Avenue East, Chatham
Details:
On March 4, 2025, at approximately 0916 hrs., Chatham-Kent Police Service received information that a 42-year-old male from, Chatham was in violation of his probation order by communicating with a 21-year-old female from Chatham. Subsequently, both individuals were arrested and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where, the 42-year-old male was charged with the following:
Count 1: Failing to Comply with Judicial Release Order
Count 2: Breach of Probation

Additionally, the 21-year-old female was charged with failing to comply with her release order. The 42-year-old male was released with a future court date of April 28, 2025, and the 21-year-old female was also released with a future court date of April 7th, 2025.

Warrants – Case# CK25013005
Date: March 5, 2025, Time: 1252 hrs., Location: Nelson Street, Wallaceburg
Details:
On March 4, 2025, at approximately 1252 hrs., a 25-year-old female from Wallaceburg, the subject of a suspicious person call was located by the Chatham-Kent Police Service. The accused was found to have outstanding warrants for failing to attend court, theft under $5000, and possession under $5000. She was arrested and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters. She was released with a future court date of March 17, 2025.

Date: March 2, 2025, Time: 13:08hrs., Location: Moonstone Crescent, Chatham
Details:
On March 2, 2025, at approximately 13:08hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service received a call for service regarding a domestic occurrence. A 39-year-old female from Chatham, reported to Chatham-Kent Police Officers of several historic related incidents involving her spouse. As a result of a historical Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) allegation, a 36-year-old male from Chatham was arrested and transported to the Chatham Kent Police Headquarters. The accused was charged with the following:
• Count 1: Assault
• Count 2: Assault
• Count 3: Utter threats to cause bodily harm or death
• Count 4: Mischief under $5000
He was released with a future court date of March 31, 2025.

Arrest Impaired (FTS) – Case# CK25012753
Date: March 2, 2025, Time: 03:20hrs., Location: McNaughton Avenue, Wallaceburg
Details:
On March 2, 2025, at approximately 03:20hrs., a Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer observed a 40-year-old male from (Chatham) driving without lights and swerving in Wallaceburg. Believing the driver was impaired, CKPS was notified, and a traffic stop was initiated. The driver failed to stop for police and drove away recklessly, which resulted in him striking a curb. The accused fled on foot and after a brief foot pursuit, the accused was apprehended and taken into custody at Chatham Kent Police Service Headquarters. He was charged with the following:
• Count 1: Operation while Impaired
• Count 2: Flight from Police
• Count 3: Dangerous Operation
• Count 4: Possession of a Controlled Substance
• Count 5: Use Plate not Authorized for Vehicle
• Count 6: Driving While Under Suspension
• Count 7: Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand

The accused is currently being held for bail. The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to thank the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for their assistance in this occurrence.

• On February 22, 2025, at approximately 1330 hrs., a 35-year-old female was release from the custody of the Windsor Police Service. However, the Chatham-Kent Police Service held an outstanding endorsed warrant for her arrest due to her failing to comply with a peace bond order. Subsequently, she was arrested and released with conditions and a future court date of March 24, 2025.

Date: February 22, 2025, Time: 1501 hrs., Location: Wellington Street, West, Chatham
Details:
• On February 22, 2025, at approximately 15:01 hrs., a 29-year-old male from Chatham-Kent, was located by the Chatham-Kent Police Service. He was found to have an outstanding endorsed warrant for failing to comply, theft and possession under $5000. Subsequently, he was arrested and released with a future court date of March 24, 2025.

Date: February 23, 2025, Time: 10:22 hrs., Location: Goyeau Street, Windsor
Details:
• On February 23, 2025, at approximately 10:22 hrs., a 46-year-old male from Windsor, was arrested by the Windsor Police Service on an outstanding endorsed warrant for failing to attend court and the possession of a firearm. The Chatham-Kent Police Service executed the warrant in Windsor. He was released with a future court date.
