Stolen Vehicle Involved In Collision – Mathieu MENARD Arrested

(CHAMPLAIN TWP., ON) – One person has been charged after a collision involving a stolen vehicle near Hawkesbury.

On Monday, June 9, 2025, shortly before 5:30 a.m., officers with the Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single vehicle collision on a ramp at the County Road-17/County Road-34 interchange. The mini van had left the road and rolled over.

The lone occupant of the vehicle was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

Officers later learned that the mini van had been stolen from a residence in Hawkesbury.

Mathieu MENARD, age 45 of Hawkesbury is charged with:

  • Assaulting a peace officer – two counts
  • Resisting a peace officer
  • Theft of a vehicle
  • Dangerous operation of a vehicle

The investigation is continuing, and additional charges are possible.

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on Wednesday, July 2, 2025.

160,000 Suspected Methamphetamine Pills Taken Off Streets

(CHAMPLAIN TWP., ON) – A routine traffic stop on Highway 417 near Hawkesbury has resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of suspected methamphetamine.

A member of the Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police was on patrol on the 417 westbound on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, shortly before 10:30 a.m., when he saw a vehicle being driven erratically.

The officer stopped the car and spotted suspicious material inside. Further investigation, in conjunction with the OPP East Region Community Street Crime Unit, resulted in a search warrant being issued, leading to the discovery of approximately 160,000 suspected methamphetamine pills (photo attached).

Emmanuel LALLIER, age 30 of Rawdon, Quebec, has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Operation of a vehicle while prohibited under the Criminal Code
  • Fail to comply with a probation order
  • Unsafe move – lane or shoulder
  • Drive with window coated – view obstructed
  • Possess unmarked cigarettes

Keven MANNO, age 31 of Montreal, has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Fail to comply with a probation order – three counts

Both of the accused were held for bail hearings before the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal. MANNO is scheduled to be in court on March 24, 2025. LALLIER is scheduled to appear March 25, 2025.
