Harrison Lachance – Drunk Driving

(TAY TOWNSHIP, ON) – Officers from the Southern Georgian Bay detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver with impaired‑related offences following a two‑vehicle collision on Highway 12 yesterday afternoon.

On February 23, 2026, at approximately 3:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of a collision involving two vehicles on Highway 12, west of Reeves Road in Tay Township.

Investigators spoke with those involved in the collision and determined that no one suffered any injuries; however, it was learned that one of the involved drivers had been operating a vehicle in an erratic manner prior to the collision.

Upon speaking with the driver, officers noted signs of alcohol impairment and demanded a roadside breath sample, which registered a Fail reading. The driver was arrested and transported to detachment.

As a result of this investigation, Harrison Lachance, 29 years of Bracebridge, is charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired
  • Operation Over 80 milligrams
  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle

The accused was release on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on April 2, 2026.

Upon being charged with impaired driving, the driver’s licence of the accused is suspended for 90 days and the vehicle they were operating is impounded for seven days.

The OPP reminds motorists that if you consume alcohol, cannabis, or other drugs, do not drive. Plan a safe ride home. Impaired driving remains one of the leading causes of preventable collisions and fatalities on Ontario roadways.

Alex THOMSON – Drunk Driving

(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged another driver with impaired driving.

On Friday, February 20, 2026 just before 11:00 p.m., a Bracebridge OPP officer who was on patrol in the town of Gravenhurst, observed a vehicle on Muskoka Road South in the town of Gravenhurst that was concerning. The officer conducted an investigation and subsequently arrested and charged 31-year-old Alex THOMSON of Cambridge with Impaired Operation – Over 80. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on April 7, 2026 to answer to his charge.

Erin KRAWETZ Was Arrested

(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged three people with drug possession after a traffic stop in Bracebridge during the early morning hours.

On Saturday February 21, 2026 at 3:15 a.m., a Bracebridge OPP officer was conducting proactive patrols in the town of Bracebridge when a vehicle caught their attention and the officer initiated a traffic stop. As a result of their investigation, police arrested and charged 43-year-old Erin KRAWETZ of Bracebridge, ON with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance- Cocaine
  • Operation while prohibited
  • Driving while under suspension

She will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on May 12, 2026 to answer to her charges.

Police have also charged 27-year-old Ashton CARNEGIE, of Bracebridge, and 54-year-old Robert MEEKS, of Washago, each with Possession of schedule I Substance – Cocaine. They will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on May 12, 2026 to answer to their charges.

Justin SCHELL Was Arrested

(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a local person with impaired driving overnight.

On Thursday February 12, 2026 at 3:30 a.m., Bracebridge OPP officers were conducting proactive patrols in the town of Bracebridge when a vehicle caught their attention committing several highway traffic act infractions in the area of Monck Road to Taylor Road. Officers conducted a traffic stop on Taylor Road and subsequently arrested and charged 33-year-old Justin SCHELL of Gravenhurst, ON with the following:

·      Operation while Impaired CC 320.14(1)(a)

·      Dangerous Operation CC 320.13(1)

·      Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine CDSA 4(1)

·      Fail to Stop for Police HTA 216(1)

·      Stunt Driving HTA (172(1)

·      Drive Motor Vehicle – No licence HTA 32(1)

·      Drive without proper rear light HTA 62(1)

He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on March 24, 2026 to answer to his charges.

4 More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged four more drivers with impaired driving this week.

On Saturday January 31, 2026 at 8:15 p.m., Bracebridge OPP officers responded to a concern from a member of the public about a possible impaired driver on Wellington Street and Monck Road in Bracebridge. Officers located the vehicle in a nearby commercial parking lot and subsequently arrested and charged 45-year-old Nicholas ARBOUR of Courtland, ON with Impaired Operation and Over 80. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on March 10, 2026 to answer to his charges.

On Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 6:00 p.m., officers responded to a two-vehicle collision that occurred on Dill Street at Wellington Street in Bracebridge. As a result of their investigation into the collision, police arrested and charged 45-year-old Christopher BROWN of Bracebridge, ON with Impaired Operation and Over 80. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on March 10, 2026 to answer to his charges.

On Friday, February 6, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. police responded to a concern from a member of the public about the condition of a driver in a commercial parking lot located on Muskoka Road South in Gravenhurst. Officers located the vehicle travelling on Bethune Drive, conducted a traffic stop and subsequently arrested and charged 31-year-old Christopher GARBOS of Toronto, ON with Failure/Refusal to Comply with Demand (Breath), Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor, along with several Highway Traffic Act and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act offenses. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on February 24, 2026 to answer to his charges.

On Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 4:20 p.m. Bracebridge OPP officers responded to a concern from a member of the public about the condition of a driver who had left a residence in Huntsville. Officers located the vehicle travelling on Highway 11 South near Taylor Road in Bracebridge and subsequently arrested and charged 45-year-old David HILL of Lynden, ON with Impaired Operation, Over 80 and Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on March 17, 2026 to answer to his charges.

Child Play With Toy Gun At Home Triggers Lockdown

(GRAVENHURST, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a concern about a weapon at an address near Bay Street in Gravenhurst.

On January 28, 2026, at 5:30 p.m., Bracebridge OPP officers responded to a report from a member of the public on Bay Street in Gravenhurst that they believed a person had pointed a firearm at the street from an apartment near Bay Street and Muskoka Road South.

In the interest of public safety, police closed the nearby roads and conducted an investigation into the matter. The involved individual was determined to be a youth and was playing with an imitation firearm. The youth and their family were co-operative and reflective and the area was soon re-opened to traffic and cleared.

Bracebridge OPP appreciates the patience and co-operation from all members of the community.

Kalob TEMPLE – Impaired Driving

(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged another driver with impaired after a collision in Bracebridge.

On January 19, 2026 at 9:00 p.m. Bracebridge OPP officers responded to a report from a member of the public about a single vehicle collision into a snowbank on Highway 118 at an on-ramp to Highway 11 North in Bracebridge. Officers arrived and subsequently arrested and charged 21-year-old Kalob TEMPLE of Orilia, ON with Impaired Operation, Over 80 and Novice Driver – B.A.C. above zero.

 He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on March 3, 2026 to answer to his charges.

Adam BROWN & Tracy O’NEIL Were Arrested

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) – Officers of the Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) are always looking for criminal driving behaviour. 

On January 22, 2026 at 8:59a.m., Huntsville O.P.P. officers were notified of a vehicle partially stuck in a snowbank at an address on King William Street in Huntsville. Muskoka EMS and Huntsville officers arrived on scene and determined the two occupants of the vehicle to be medically fine. However, It became apparent to officers the male driver was impaired.

As a result of the investigation, Adam BROWN, 46 years old of Huntsville Ontario, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·        Possession of schedule 1 substance

·        Possession of schedule III substance 

·        Drive motor vehicle with Liqour readily available

Also charged in this investigation is the vehicle passenger,

Tracy O’NEIL, 45 years old of Bracebridge Ontario; 

·        Possession of Schedule III substance

Both of the accused were released and are to appear in March 2026 before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge Ontario.

The driver was also issued a 90 Administrative Driver’s License Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

– DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE –

This event could have easily been avoided had the driver planned ahead before consuming alcohol or drugs. 

Don’t include alcohol or drugs in any plans to drive. Instead, arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi or public transit, or come up with another option that takes driving out of the picture altogether.

Adam PLAVINSKI – Drunk Driving

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) – Officers of the Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) are always looking for criminal driving behaviour. 

On January 17, 2026 at 7:45p.m., Huntsville O.P.P. officers were on patrol on Main Street West when they observed a vehicle failing to signal its turns and had no headlights on.  Officers conducted a stop of the vehicle and quickly suspected the driver to have alcohol in their body. The driver of the vehicle failed the roadside approved screening device test and was arrested.

 As a result of the investigation, Adam PLAVINSKI, 38 years old of Bracebridge Ontario, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released and is to appear in February 2026 before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge Ontario.

The accused was also issued a 90 Administrative Driver’s License Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

Morton SMITH – Impaired Driving

(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged another driver with impaired driving at a RIDE program.

On December 31, 2025, at 1:20 p.m. OPP officers with the Traffic Investigation Management Team (T.I.M.E.) were conducting a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program on South Kahshe Lake Road in Gravenhurst. Officers soon entered into an impaired driving investigation and subsequently arrested and charged 49-year-old Morton SMITH of Severn Bridge, ON with Impaired Operation – Drug, driving while under suspension and driving a vehicle with cannabis readily available. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on January 20, 2026 to answer to his charges.

(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged another driver with impaired after a collision in Bracebridge.

On December 27, 2025, at 4:45 a.m. Bracebridge OPP officers responded to a report  from a member of the public about a single vehicle collision into a guard rail on Beaumont Drive in Bracebridge, and further concerns about the condition of the driver. Officers located the vehicle and subsequently arrested and charged 22-year-old Nicholas RUTTAN of Gravenhurst, ON with Impaired Operation, Over 80 and Operating a motor vehicle with liquor readily available.

He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on January 27, 2026 to answer to his charges.

Cocaine Bust – Anthony GILLESPIE

(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual in relation to illegal drugs in Gravenhurst.

On December 26, 2025, just before 10:00 p.m. Bracebridge OPP officers responded to concerns from a member of the public about a vehicle that was lodged in a snowbank on Gravenhurst Parkway near Beaver Creek Drive in Gravenhurst and the driver was no longer with the vehicle. Police responded quickly and located a quantity of illegal drugs and were soon able to locate the driver. Police arrested and charged 31-year-old Anthony GILLESPIE of North York, ON with:

·      Possession of Schedule I Substance- Cocaine

·      Possessing Cannabis for the Purpose of Selling

·      Possession of Contraband before Visitor Point in a Penitentiary.

He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on January 27, 2026 to answer to his charges.

Nathan REID – Drunk Driving

(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one driver with impaired driving on Christmas Eve.

On December 24, 2025, at 3:45 p.m. OPP officers with the Traffic Investigation Management (TIME) Team were conducting a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program on Southwood Road. After entering into an impaired driving investigation, police arrested and charged 24-year-old Nathan REID of Barrie, ON with Impaired Operation – Over 80. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on January 20, 2026 to answer to his charge.

Theft – SINGH, SINGH &CHEEMA

(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged three individuals in relation to a theft from a Huntsville retail location.

On December 17, 2025, at 9:00 p.m. Bracebridge OPP officers were made aware of a theft that had occurred in Huntsville, ON, where the suspects made off with almost $3500.00 worth of alcohol products from a retail location. Given the nature of the theft, Bracebridge officers conducted proactive patrols of the Bracebridge store, located on Muskoka Road 118.

At 9:45 p.m., police located the suspect vehicle, along with the three suspects, in a commercial parking lot on Muskoka Road 118, near the possible targeted store. One suspect attempted to flee on foot and was quickly arrested. The remaining two suspects fled in their vehicle, however returned to the area at 3:00 a.m. Diligence on the part of the officers not only located the suspect vehicle but brought the two remaining suspects safely into custody.

Police have charged 28-year-old Davinder SINGH, of Brampton, ON with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Possession of Break In Instruments
  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Fail to Comply with Release Order X 2
  • Careless Driving

Police have also charged 24-year-old Sandeep CHEEMA of Woolwich Township, ON with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Possession of Break In Instruments
  • Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Flight from Peace Officer

And 30-year-old Tarwinder SINGH of Toronto, ON with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Possession of Break In Instruments
  • Obstruct Peace Officer

All three individuals have been held for a bail hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on December 18, 2025 to answer to their charges.

Samantha TESSIER & Riley STEAD – Drunk Driving

(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged two more drivers with impaired driving.

On November 29, 2025, at 3:30 a.m. Bracebridge OPP officers were conducting proactive patrols in the town of Bracebridge and became concerned about the condition of a driver near Taylor Road. Officers commenced an investigation and subsequently arrested and charged 32-year-old Samantha TESSIER of Chelmsford, ON with Impaired Operation – Over 80. She will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on December 16, 2025 to answer to her charges.

On November 29, 2025, at 9:45 p.m. Bracebridge OPP officers were conducting a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program on Muskoka Road 169 at Southwood Road. After entering into an impaired driving investigation, police arrested and charged 40-year-old Riley STEAD of Gravenhurst, ON with Impaired Operation and Over 80. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on December 30, 2025 to answer to his charges.
