(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) – The South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested an impaired driver at a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) checkpoint.

On October 4, 2024, members of the South Bruce OPP were conducting a RIDE checkpoint in Paisley. At approximately 10:23 p.m., police stopped a vehicle to check the sobriety of the driver. 

As a result of the investigation, Joseph O’BRIEN, 35-years-old, from the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie was charged with:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) – Driver arrested for Impaired driving after South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a motorist who drove into a ditch on Concession 8 East of Arran Township.

On August 25, 2024, at approximately 6:00 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint that an individual had gone into the ditch in the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.

The driver was found to have been under the influence of alcohol. They were placed under arrest and taken to a qualified breath technician.

Kyle HARMAN, 33-years-old, from Allenford was charged with:

• Operation while impaired
• Operation while impaired- over 80

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) – On August 9, 2024, at 11:25 p.m., South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer arrested a driver while conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) checkpoint on Bruce Road 10 in the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.

The driver was found to have been drinking alcohol. They were placed under arrest and taken to a Qualified Breath Technician for breath tests.

Jordan DOWLING, 24-years-old, from the Municipality of Kincardine was charged with:

• Operation while impaired – alcohol

The driver will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date. An impaired driving charge includes an immediate 90-day driver’s licence suspension and immediate vehicle impoundment for seven days.

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) – On July 27, 2024, at 11:49 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report a vehicle swerving along Bruce Road 3, in the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie. The driver left the roadway and was involved in a single motor vehicle collision.

The driver was found to have been drinking alcohol. They were placed under arrest and taken to a Qualified Breath Technician for breath tests.

Dieter MADER, 22-years-old, from Brantford was charged with:

• Operation while impaired
• Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

On April 11, 2024, members of the South Bruce OPP were conducting a RIDE checkpoint on 1^st Avenue South in the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie. At approximately 11:07 p.m., police stopped a vehicle to check the sobriety of the driver. The investigating officer administered a roadside approved screening device (ASD) test, registering a fail. The driver was placed under arrest and taken to a Qualified Breath Technician for breath tests.

Tyler Williams, 56-years-old, from the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie was charged with:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

On March 17, 2024, members of the South Bruce OPP were conducting a RIDE checkpoint in the area of Concession 2 and Sideroad 25 in the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie. At approximately 4:26 p.m., police stopped a vehicle to check the sobriety of the driver. The investigating officer administered a roadside approved screening device (ASD) test, registering a fail. The driver was placed under arrest and taken to a Qualified Breath Technician for breath tests.

Bryan ENGEL, 60-years-old, from the Municipality of Brockton was charged with:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
