More Racers Busted – BAKER, WILLIS, RAMANI, WALKER & FAIRCLOUGH

(PERTH COUNTY, ON) – A number of people have been charged with stunt racing in Perth County recently, including one driver who was travelling double the speed limit after consuming alcohol.

On November 19 2020, just after 11:30 p.m., a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a vehicle travelling on Perth Line 34, in the Township of Perth East, after it was found to be travelling in excess of 147km/h in an 80km/h limit zone.

As a result, David Harold BAKER, 55, of West Perth, has been charged with:

  • Race motor vehicle – Excessive Speed

On November 22 2020, just before 2:30 a.m., a Perth County OPP officer stopped a vehicle on Perth Line 43, in the Township of Perth East, after it was found to be travelling in excess of 133km/h in an 80km/h limit zone.

As a result, Douglas Fredrick WILLIS, 24, of Brant County, has been charged with:

  • Race motor vehicle – Excessive Speed

On November 27 2020, just after 10:30 p.m., a Perth County OPP officer stopped a vehicle on Perth Line 34, in the Township of Perth East, after it was found to be travelling in excess of 138km/h in an 80km/h limit zone.

As a result, Kevin Vallabhbhai RAMANI, 25, of Kitchener, has been charged with:

  • Race motor vehicle – Excessive Speed

On November 27 2020, just before 11:30 p.m., a Perth County OPP officer stopped a vehicle on Perth Line 34, in the Township of Perth East, after it was found to be travelling in excess of 153km/h in an 80km/h limit zone.

As a result, Kyle Joel WALKER, 23, of Stratford, has been charged with:

  • Race motor vehicle – Excessive Speed
  • Insecure Load – Commercial Motor Vehicle

On November 28 2020, just before 2:00 a.m., a Perth County OPP officer stopped a vehicle on Perth Line 34, in the Township of Perth East, after it was found to be travelling in excess of 169km/h in an 80km/h limit zone, more than double the legal limit. The investigation also revealed the driver, who has a novice driver’s licence, had consumed alcohol.

As a result, Jorja FAIRCLOUGH, 19, of Toronto, has been charged with:

  • Race motor vehicle – Excessive Speed
  • Novice Driver – B.A.C. above zero
  • Careless Driving

In each incident, a seven day driving suspension and seven day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused drivers are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

Listowel Beak And Enter – SHARPIN & YORKE-THOMAS

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – Two people are facing charges after they broke into a residence in the Municipality of North Perth.

On November 23 2020, just before 3:00 a.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break and enter in progress at an apartment building on Inkerman Street West, Listowel. The suspects had broken into the laundry room of the apartment building, where they caused damage to a washing machine.

When police arrived on scene moments later, the suspects were observed attempting to flee on foot. One suspect was arrested immediately, and one was located and arrested a short time later.

As a result, Randi Elizabeth SHARPIN, 25, of North Perth, has been charged with:

  • Break, Enter Dwelling House – Commit Indictable Offence
  • Mischief Under $5000

Also, Damien YORKE-THOMAS, 26, of North Perth, has been charged with:

  • Break, Enter Dwelling House – Commit Indictable Offence
  • Mischief Under $5000

The accused parties were released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

Cyclist Killed – MILLER Facing Criminal Code Charge

(ST. CLAIR TWP, ON) – On August 22, 2020 at approximately 10:00 a.m. the Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Lambton Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and St. Clair Fire Department attended Petrolia Line, St. Clair Township in relation to a fatal motor vehicle collision involving a bicycle and a motor vehicle.  

Melissa MILLER, 38 year old of St. Clair TWP, was arrested and charged with Dangerous Operation Causing Death, pursuant to the Criminal Code.  

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice-Sarnia on January 11, 2021.

19 Year Old Repeat Offender From ACW Facing Numerous Charges – Assault With Weapon etc.

(GODERICH, ON) – A 19-year-old resident of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh is facing a dozen charges following some events that took place yesterday in and around Goderich.

At approximately 3:48 p.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a weapons related call on East Street in the Town of Goderich. Police learned there was an interaction involving a weapon that was swung at a victim. The accused subsequently fled the scene in his pickup truck only to be spotted minutes later by a patrol officer.

An attempt was made to stop the suspect vehicle however the driver immediately fled from the officer. The suspect vehicle raced dangerously through Goderich at a high rate of speed failing to stop for traffic signs and signals. Officers did not chase after the suspect vehicle however later that evening police were called to a residence north of Goderich at Huron Haven where they located the suspect and suspect vehicle. The accused was arrested and taken into custody without incident.     

The subsequent investigation revealed the accused also became involved in family dispute where he committed further offences. 

Ryley INGHAM, 19 years of age from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh has been charged with the following offences:

  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Flight From Police Officer
  • Dangerous Operation
  • Assault – 2 Counts
  • Uttering Threats
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Sentence – 2 Counts
  • Class G1 Licence Holder – Unaccompanied by qualified driver
  • Fail to Apply on Becoming Owner
  • Use Plate Not Authorized for Vehicle
  • Operate Motor Vehicle Without Insurance

The accused remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for December 4, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Have You Seen These Stolen Snowmobiles?

(LAKESHORE, ON) – On December 2, 2020 Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Lakeshore Detachment received a complaint of theft of a trailer containing two snowmobiles. The trailer has since been located but the snowmobiles are outstanding.

Police are asking the public to be on the lookout for a yellow 2006 Ski-Doo MXZ and an orange 2005 Artic Cat FZ.

The investigation is ongoing by members of the Community Street Crime Unit. Methamphetamine Bust – MATHESON

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – On November 28, 2020, at approximately 3:30 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped the driver of a rental truck on Main Street South in the Town of Mount Forest. Police arrested the driver who was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

The driver was found to be in possession of a quantity of drugs suspected to be cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine. Police also seized drug distribution paraphernalia and Canadian currency.

Randy Lee MATHESON 36-year-old of Southgate Township has been charged with three counts of Possession of a Scheduled 1 Substance – for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The Accused was held for bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice-Guelph.

20 Year Old Caught Going 135 in an 80 – Name Released

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – On November 26, 2020, at approximately 2:15 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic and conducting radar on Highway 6 near Arthur. The officer observed a blue pick-up truck travelling southbound at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 135 km/h.

 Quenton Joseph CLARKE, 20-years-old, of the Township of Wellington North has been charged with Racing a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in Guelph at the Ontario Court of Justice – Provincial Offences Court on May 5, 2021. Their vehicle and driver’s licence were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

Sexual Assault By Fake Delivery Person – Make Sure It’s Not Dharmpreet SINGH Next Time You Open Your Door

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – A recent criminal investigation conducted by Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) uniform members, with the assistance of the Crime Unit has resulted in a sex-related offence charge being laid. 

The charge is in relation to the incident that occurred on December 1, 2020 at an Oxford Street, Ingersoll address.  

As a result, 21-year-old Dharmpreet SINGH of Kitchener was charged with Sexual Assault.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock at a later date.

20 Year Old Impaired Driver Airlifted To Hospital

(ST. CLAIR TWP, ON) – On June 24, 2020 at approximately 2:30 a.m. the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Lambton County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and St. Clair Fire Department attended LaSalle Line, east of Kimball Road, St. Clair Township in relation to a single motor vehicle collision.  

The driver of the vehicle was transported to the hospital via AirORNGE with critical injuries.  

Ethan GAUTHIER, 20 year-old of Sarnia has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs, Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus, pursuant to the Criminal Code, Class G1 Licence Holder – Unaccompanied by Qualified Driver, Class G1 Licence Holder – Drive at Unlawful Hour, Novice Driver – Blood Alcohol Concentration above Zero and Driver – Fail to Properly Wear Seat Belt, pursuant to the Highway Traffic Act.  

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice-Sarnia on January 11, 2021.

Repeat Offender Arrested Again – MISQUADIS Facing Numerous Charges

(ARRAN TWP, ON) – On December 1, 2020 at 2:31 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a theft from a residence along Concession 10 west in Arran Township. One individual was taken into custody and charges have been laid.

Joshua MISQUADIS, 38-years-old, of Saugeen First Nation has been charged with:

  • Theft of motor vehicle
  • Flight from peace officer
  • Dangerous Driving
  • Impaired Driving
  • Assault a Peace Officer
  • Possess a Firearm
  • Possess a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • 2 counts of Break and Enter
  • 2 counts of Possessing a Controlled Substance
  • Possess more than 30 grams of Marijuana
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possess a Firearm or Ammunition while Prohibited
  • 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Undertaking
  • 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Release Order
  • Fail to Comply with Probation

The accused was held in custody pending the results of a bail hearing scheduled for December 2, 2020.

Officers are continuing to search for a Red Suzuki 400 and 3 long guns. If you observe the stolen ATV, do not approach it. Contact your local police as soon as possible by calling 9-1-1.

Dale CONANT, 42-years-old, of Kincardine was charged with Break and Enter, Trespass by Night, Possession of Property obtained by Crime and 2 Counts of Fail to comply with Probation. The accused was held in custody pending the results of a bail hearing scheduled for December 2, 2020.

9 Collisions In 24 Hours

(GREY-BRUCE, ON) – On December 1st, 2020 the Grey Bruce area received a significant amount of snowfall and gave motorists the first real winter storm of the season to deal with. Members of the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to nine motor vehicle collisions (over a 24 hour period) and assisted with several more stranded motorists and stuck vehicles.

Grey Bruce OPP and the Ministry of Transportation remind motorists that now is the time to prepare for winter driving conditions.

  • Consider installing four winter snow tires (if you haven’t already);
  • Download the free Ontario 511 mobile App, to get access to real-time highway conditions and traffic information;
  • Plan on extra time for winter travel;
  • Clean snow and ice off of your vehicle;

Safe Winter Driving Tips:

  • Adapt your driving to the road and weather conditions;
  • Reduce your speed and avoid sudden maneuvers to stay in control at all times:
  • Avoid distractions and be alert for changing road conditions;
  • Leave more space between you and other vehicles so you have time to react and stop quickly;
  • Proceed with caution where large snowbanks could reduce your line of sight;

Ruth CASWELL – Assault With Weapon

(MEAFORD, ON) – On November 29, 2020 at 10:25 a.m., Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to an assault at a residential complex at Parker Street West in the Municipality of Meaford.  

Two people were talking in the hallway of this apartment building, when a third person entered the hallway with a baseball bat and made threatening gestures at these people. There were no injuries.

As a result of this investigation, Grey Bruce OPP have charged Ruth CASWELL, 61 years-of-age, from Meaford, ON with assault with a weapon, section 267(a) Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on January 7, 2021.

Crap Load Of More Impaired Drivers

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – The Oxford County and County of Brant Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), arrested four drivers with alcohol related driving offences in Oxford County.

On November 28, 2020, at approximately 1:55 a.m., OPP received a report of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 401, Blandford Blenheim Township.

Police spoke with the driver, and it was determined that the driver was displaying signs of impairment. The driver was placed under arrest and taken into custody for testing.

As a result, 30-year-old William ZIMMER of Chatham was charged with the following offences:

  •  Operation While Impaired
  •  Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus) 

On November 28, 2020, at approximately 3:10 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop after a vehicle drew attention to the officer, on Quarter Town Line, Tillsonburg.

Police spoke with the driver, and it became apparent that the driver had consumed alcohol. An Approved Screening Device (ASD) test was administered, resulting in a fail. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result, 26-year-old Jose LOPEZ-RODRIGEUZ of Tillsonburg was charged with the following offences:

  •  Operation While Impaired
  •  Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

On November 29, 2020, at approximately 6:30 p.m., OPP received a report of a disturbance on Highway 403, Norwich Township.

Police located the vehicle involved, and conducted a traffic stop. Officers spoke with the driver, and determined the driver was displaying signs of impairment. An ASD test was administered, resulting in a fail. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result, 43-year-old Mark MAY of Peterborough was charged with the following offences:

  •  Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
  •  Operate a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance
  •  Use Plate Not Authorized for Vehicle
  •  Drive Motor Vehicle, No Currently Validated Permit
  •  Novice Driver – BAC Above Zero

On November 29, 2020, at approximately 8:20 p.m., OPP received a report of a traffic complaint on Highway 401, South-West Oxford Township.

Police located the vehicle and spoke with the driver. The driver was administered an ASD test, which resulted in a fail. The driver was transported to the OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result, 32-year-old Larysa ONYSKIW of St. Catherines was charged with the following offences:

  •  Operation While Impaired
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

All of the accused had their drivers licences suspended and vehicles impounded.

They are all scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock at a later date.

Home Invader Gains Entry As Fake Delivery Person

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – The Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating after receiving a report of an assault at an Oxford Street, Ingersoll address.

On December 1, 2020, at approximately 1:00 p.m., a resident who was expecting some items that were ordered online, answered the front door after hearing a knock. 

Investigation determined that a person holding a package, entered the residence. After a very brief conversation, the resident was assaulted.  No injuries were reported.

Police are reminding the public, if you make any online purchases that would be delivered to your door, to let the delivery person leave it without making contact.
