MACPHERSON Facing Drunk Driving Charge

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On March 17, 2021, members of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting R.I.D.E. with a member of West Region OPP Highway Safety Division (HSD) on Bruce Avenue in Kincardine. At 6:50 p.m., a vehicle stopped at the R.I.D.E. checkpoint and officers determined that the driver had been drinking alcohol.

Colin MACPHERSON, 29-years-old, of Chatsworth, was charged with Operate over 80 Milligrams. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on May 12, 2021 to answer to the charge.

84 Year Old Charged In Home Invasion

(CHATSWORTH, ON) On March 15, 2021 at 3:55 p.m. Grey Bruce OPP responded to a disturbance on Garafraxa Street, in the Village of Chatsworth, in the Township of Chatsworth.

A person had entered a residence and assaulted the occupant, who received minor injuries.  

As a result of this investigation, Grey Bruce OPP have charged Emmanuel KLOUVIDAKIS, 84 years-of-age, from Chatsworth, ON with assault, section 266 Criminal Code of Canada (CCC) and unlawfully in a dwelling house, section 349(1) CCC.

The accused must attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on April 29, 2021.

Hit & Run Involving Police Cruiser

(MIDDLESEX, ON) – On Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at approximately 11:10 p.m., while assisting the London Police Service on a separate incident involving a stolen motor vehicle, members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police, Oneida and Chippewa Police Service and Elgin OPP located the vehicle at a residence on Oneida of the Thames First Nation.

As officers were on scene, an unrelated motor vehicle entered through the police barricade, struck an unoccupied OPP cruiser and narrowly missed multiple officers on foot.

The vehicle fled from the scene and was later recovered. The vehicle had also previously been reported as stolen.

No injuries were reported. The OPP cruiser sustained significant damage and was towed from the scene.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Violent Home Invasion

(ESSEX, ON) – Police are looking for suspects after a robbery at a residence in the Town of Essex.

On March 17, 2021, at approximately 8:00 a.m., Essex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a robbery that had just occurred at a residence on Brien Avenue in the Town of Essex. Two suspects entered the residence, assaulted the victim and stole a variety of items. The suspects then fled the scene in an unknown direction.

The victim was transported to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.

Dennis WIHNON – Impaired Driving Etc.

(WALKERTON, ON) – On March 16, 2021 at 2:22 a.m., a South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on patrol stopped to check a vehicle along Durham Street west in Walkerton. The officer noticed the driver was showing signs of impairment.

Dennis WIHNON, 39-years-old, of no fixed address, was charged with Impaired Driving, Driving while Prohibited and Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking. The accused was held in custody pending the results of a bail hearing scheduled for March 16, 2021.

A large quantity of Fentanyl was seized by police.

Two Charged Following Single Vehicle Collision

(NEYAASHIINIGMIING FIRST NATION, ON) – On March 15, 2021 at 9:42 p.m. members of the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation Police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Port Elgin Road, in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula, near the community of Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation.  

The driver of a sport utility vehicle had lost control and crashed into the wire guard rails. Officers located two occupants that were involved in this collision. Both involved parties were transported to hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The driver was arrested for impaired driving and the passenger was also arrested for firearm related offences.

The driver was evaluated at the Grey Bruce OPP detachment in Wiarton by a Drug Recognition Expert. 

As a result of this investigation, Grey Bruce OPP have charged Andrew LOZON, 39 years-of-age, from Northern Bruce Peninsula, with the following offences:

  • Operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs, section 320.14(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)
  • Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order, section 117.01(1) CCC
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, section 88 CCC
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, section 91(1) CCC
  • Two counts of failure to comply with release orders, section 145(5)(a) CCC
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance – heroin, section 4(1) Controlled Drugs and Substance Act

Grey Bruce OPP have also charged Ryan BOORTZ-JONES, 34 years-of-age of no fixed address, with the following offences:

  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, section 91(1) CCC
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, section 88 CCC

Both of the accused were held for bail hearings at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on March 16, 2021.

Drug Bust – Blair WILSON

(KINLOSS TWP, ON) – On March 16, 2021, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU), OPP Tactical Rescue Unit (TRU) members and West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) members executed a Search Warrant at a property along Bruce County Road 1 in Kinloss Township. 

As a result of the execution of the search warrant, police seized a quantity of Cocaine, and Gabapentin. The estimated value of the seized controlled substances is $11,795.00. 

Police also seized offence related property including: digital scales, a cell phone, and drug packaging material.

Blair WILSON, 38-years-old, of Kinloss Township was charged with Possession of Cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court on May 19, 2021 to answer to the charge.

Marius ANTONEAC – Cocaine Trafficking

(LAKESHORE, ON) – On March 9, 2021, approximately 5:25 p.m. members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU) investigated a vehicle in the parking lot of Belle River Marina as part of proactive patrols due to complaints of alcohol and drugs use in the area.

Officers observed cannabis within the vehicle and both parties were directed to exit the vehicle due to the contravention under the cannabis control act (CCA). After further investigation officers located a quantity of cocaine, a scale and money. 

A 21 year-old of Windsor is charged

  • Have Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle with Cannabis readily available CCA.

Marius ANTONEAC, 21 years-of-age of Lakeshore is scheduled to appear in the Windsor, Ontario Court of Justice on May 3, 2021 charged with

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – cocaine – Controlled Drugs and
  • Substance Act (CDSA)
  • Resist Arrest – Criminal Code of Canada (CC)

Suspended Driver Breaks Into Home Following Hit & Run

(SOUTHGATE, ON) – On March 12, 2021 at 4:16 a.m. members of the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to single motor vehicle collision on Southgate Sideroad 21, in the Township of Southgate.  

OPP officers were also advised that the driver from this collision had just broken into a nearby residence and the home owners were present and waited with the suspect until police arrived.

Officers located the driver and they were arrested for impaired driving and other criminal offences.

As a result of this investigation, Grey Bruce OPP have charged Brock SHERSON, 27 years-of-age, from Southgate, with the following offences:

  • Operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol and drugs, section 320.14(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)
  • Unlawfully in a dwelling house, section 349(1) CCC
  • Driving while under suspension, section 53(1) Highway Traffic Act (HTA)
  • Fail to report accident, section 199(1) HTA

 The accused must attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on April 22, 2021.

Fire Marshall Investigating Fire

(BRANT COUNTY, ON) – On Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at approximately 9:07 p.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) County of Brant Detachment, Oxford County Fire Department and Brant County Fire Department responded to a fire at a Muir Road, County of Brant address.

Attending firefighters arrived on scene and were met with a fully engulfed structure fire. The fire was subsequently extinguished and no injuries were reported. 

The County of Brant OPP Crime Unit along with the Office of the Fire Marshall is continuing to investigate and is seeking assistance from the public. If anyone has any information regarding this incident, they are being asked to contact the Brant County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

Cruiser Vs Ambulance Chase Between Kintail & Kincardine Ends With K9 Tracking Down Blake TISDALE

(HURON COUNTY & SOUTH BRUCE, ON) –  A Hanover resident remains in police custody on several criminal charges following a chase that took place last night between Kintail and Kincardine.

Shortly before midnight a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed an un-plated, de-commissioned ambulance travelling southbound on Kerry’s Line near Kintail. The officer activated his emergency lights and signalled for the vehicle to stop however the driver failed to stop and intentionally drove into the side of the police cruiser. 

The suspect vehicle continued on and travelled northbound on Bluewater Veteran’s Highway (Highway 21) leading officers on a police chase into Bruce County. A tire deflation device was utilized near Pine River however to no avail the driver failed to stop and continued travelling on rims. As the vehicle approached Kincardine the passenger opened up the rear door of the vehicle and began throwing metal objects at the chasing police vehicles. 

The driver collided with three police vehicles before the de-commissioned ambulance was finally disabled near the intersection of Broadway Street (Highway 9) and Bluewater Highway (Highway 21). Two occupants immediately fled the vehicle into an adjacent field/swamp area.

Officers set up containment and a search for the suspects was conducted by members of the West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and OPP Canine. At 1:30 a.m. this morning police located one of the suspects hiding underneath a boat in a backyard on Sutton Street. He was placed under arrest and was taken into custody. Police continued searching the area for the second suspect however he was not located. 

Upon confirming the accused’s identity police learned he was wanted by Hanover Police Services for Theft of a Motor Vehicle. 

Blake TISDALE, 34 years of age from Hanover has been charged with the following offences:

·        Dangerous Operation

·        Assault a Peace Officer With a Weapon – 3 counts

·        Flight from Peace Officer

·        Fail to Stop After Accident

·        Drive While Under Suspension

The accused is facing a video court bail hearing today.

Nathan GODFREY – Drunk Driving Mini Dirt Bike

(BLUEWATER, ON) – A helmetless rider of a mini dirt bike caught the attention of a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer patrolling Highway 4 yesterday afternoon.   

At approximately 3:00 p.m. a traffic stop was conducted on London Road south of Hurondale Road.  Upon speaking with the driver the investigating officer formed suspicion the driver had been consuming some alcohol. A roadside test was performed and the driver registered a Fail. As a result, the driver was placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests; both tests were found to be above the legal limit by the Intoxilizer Technician.

Nathan GODFREY, 32 years of age from Hensall has been charged with Impaired Operation – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 Plus & Drive While Under Suspension. The accused has since been released from custody with a court date scheduled for May 3, 2021 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Hit & Run – K9 Used To Track & Arrest Same ALEMU

(BRANT COUNTY, ON) – On Friday, March 12, 2021, at approximately 3:33 a.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) County of Brant Detachment received a report for a traffic complaint on Highway 403 in the County of Brant.

Officers located the involved vehicle after it rolled over on the highway. With the assistance of Brantford Police Services Canine Unit, the driver was located nearby and was taken into custody without incident.

Same ALEMU, 23 years-of-age of Toronto has been charged with the following offences: 

  • Dangerous operation, (two counts)
  • Flight from police officer, (two counts)
  • Failure to comply with release order, (four counts)
  • Fail to Remain, and
  • Drive motor vehicle – no licence.

The accused is currently being held in custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford.

Serguei NEVZOROV – Indecent Act & Assault

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On March 7, 2021, at approximately 3:00 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a disturbance at an address on Tower Street South in Fergus.

It was reported that a suspect entered a retail store and became involved in a verbal altercation a store employee. The suspect proceeded to commit an indecent act. When asked to leave the store, the suspect assaulted the same employee.

Serguei NEVZOROV, 55-years-old of Fergus has been charged with Assault and Indecent Act-Public Place contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.  The Accused will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice-Guelph on April 9, 2021 to answer to the charges.

Violent Home Invasion – Suspects At Large

(PERTH EAST, ON) – Police are looking for suspects after a robbery at a residence in the Township of Perth East.

On March 6, 2021, just before 9:00 p.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a robbery that had just occurred at a residence on Main Street South in Milverton. Four male suspects entered the residence and assaulted the three adult victims with weapons. While at the residence, the suspects stole a replica gun. The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle in an unknown direction.

The victims received minor injuries in the assault, but did not attend hospital.

The investigation is ongoing.
