One Airlifted Following Collision

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – On Monday May 17, 2021 just after 6:30 p.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Perth County Paramedic Services, and the North Perth Fire Department responded to a single vehicle motor vehicle collision on Perth Road 158 in the Municipality of North Perth.

The 63-year-old driver from North Perth was extricated from the vehicle, and transported by Ornge Air Ambulance to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. There were no other injuries as a result of the collision.

The investigation is ongoing.

Aaron WEDGE Arrested Again

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid criminal charges against a Goderich resident following a recent theft occurrence.

On Wednesday, May 12, 2021 Huron OPP officers received a report from a victim that reported her mountain bike valued at nearly $3,000 had just been stolen. Officers were able gather a description of the suspect and approximately ten minutes later police spotted the suspect on Cove Road with the stolen bicycle.

Officers approached the suspect and he was taken into custody without incident. A search of the suspect revealed the accused to be in possession of break-in tools. Additionally, the accused was found to be breaching several conditions of his probation order. 

As a result, Aaron WEDGE, 30 years of age, from Goderich has been charged with: Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, Possession of Break-in Instruments and four counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order. 

The accused remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for May 21, 2021 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Quentin GODOY Charged After Person Thrown From Hood

(SOUTHGATE, ON) On May 8, 2021 at 3:13 p.m. Grey Bruce OPP responded to an injured pedestrian that was thrown from a moving motor vehicle on Bradley Street, near Grey Street in the Village of Dundalk, in the Township of Southgate.

A person had jumped onto the hood of a motor vehicle, then the driver drove away, with the pedestrian still hanging onto the hood. When the driver turned a corner sharply, the pedestrian fell to the ground, sustaining injuries. The pedestrian was treated at hospital for serious but non- life threatening injuries. The driver fled the scene.

As a result of this investigation, Grey Bruce OPP have charged Quentin GODOY, 23 years-of-age, from Southgate, with the following offences:

  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, causing bodily harm, section 320.13(2) Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)
  • Fail to remain, section 200(1)(a) Highway Traffic Act

The accused must attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on July 8, 2021.

Solar Panels & Equipment Stolen

(MORRIS-TURNBERRY, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is hopeful some tips from the public will help shine a light on who is responsible for a recent theft of solar panels and solar power equipment near Wingham.

Huron County OPP was contacted last week from a victim that reported thieves had attended their seasonal property located on West Street in lower-town Wingham and had stolen about $1600 worth of solar panels, batteries and other solar power equipment. 

The theft is believed to have taken place sometime between April 14th and May 12th, 2021. 

The stolen items consisted of two solar panels (230 watts & 235 watts), two solar panel batteries, a MTTP solar charge controller and a 1000 watt pure sine power inverter.

500 L Of Diesel Fuel Stolen

(MORRIS-TURNBERRY, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are seeking tips from the public to help solve a recent theft of fuel case.   

The victim, a business located on Howick-Turnberry Road reported the thieves stole close to 500 litres of diesel fuel from some construction vehicles that were parked at the business. The thieves also broke into a storage trailer on site however nothing was reported stolen.

The theft of fuel took place sometime over the weekend.

Robert GLENDINNING Arrested On Stolen Scooter

(LAMBTON SHORES, ON) – On May 13, 2021 at 8:50 p.m., members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a scooter being driven erratically on Main Street, Thedford.

Officers initiated a traffic stop and learned that the scooter had been reported stolen from the London area.

Robert GLENDINNING, 52-years-old of Parkhill has been charged with:

  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime under $5000 (CC).
  • Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code (CC) (x3).

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice-Sarnia on June 28, 2021.

Motorcycle Vs SUV – Serious Injuries

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – A two-vehicle crash this weekend involving a motorcycle and a sport utility vehicle remains under investigation by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

On Saturday, May 15, 2021 at approximately 3:30 p.m. Huron County OPP and Huron County Paramedic Services responded to the two-vehicle crash located at the intersection of Huron Road (Highway 8) and Front Road. 

A 25-year-old passenger on the motorcycle was transported to hospital by air ambulance with serious injuries.  She remains in hospital with serious injuries.   

The driver of the motorcycle, a 28-year-old from Huron East has since been released from hospital.

Methamphetamine Bust, Stolen Property Recovered – WINER & COLBY

(TOWNSHIP OF MAPLETON, ON) – On April 7, 2021, at approximately 11:30 a.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a theft from a business located on Wellington Road 8 in Drayton.

At approximately 9:00 a.m., two suspects entered the store and stole some Dewalt product power tools and cordless tool batteries.

On April 13th, 2021, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Wellington County OPP responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Sideroad 10 North in Puslinch Township.

It was reported that police located an unoccupied vehicle which contained a quantity of drugs believed to be methamphetamines and stolen property.

As a result of investigation, John Garrett WINER, 34-years-old and Shayla Dawn COLBY, 33-years-old, both of Puslinch Township have been charged with;

  • Theft Under $5000
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • Possession of Identity Document
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance-methamphetamine

In addition, WINER also has been charged with Fail to Comply with Probation Order.

Both accused will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on a later date to answer to the charges.

Andrea PARISIEN – Drunk Driving Collision

(TOWNSHIP OF PUSLINCH, ON) – On May 16, 2021, at approximately 8:00 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Gore Road at Cooper Road in Puslinch Township.

Police spoke with the one of the drivers and determined that they were under the influence of alcohol. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to a local OPP Operation Centre for further testing.

Andrea PARISIEN, 41-years-old of Cambridge, has been charged with Operation While Impaired – 80 Plus (mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood) and Careless Driving.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on June 18, 2021 to answer to the charge.

If you suspect someone is driving while their ability to operate a motor vehicle is impaired, either by drug or alcohol, call police at 911 to report it.

Meth Lab Bust – SIMMONS, BLACK & PAYNE

(Middlesex County, ON) – On April 18, 2021 at 10:35 p.m., while on general patrol, members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped and investigated a motor vehicle at Wellington Road and Highway 401, City of London.

As a result of the investigation, the driver and passenger of the vehicle were taken into custody without incident.

Members of the Elgin Middlesex Community Street Crime Unit assisted with further investigation and subsequently executed a search warrant at a Forest Avenue address located in St. Thomas, Ontario.

As a result, police charged 27-year-old, Kyle SIMMONS, from St. Thomas, Ontario with the following offences:

  • Possession of an identity document, section 56.1 of the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Careless storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition, section 86(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada (x3)
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, section 91(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Unauthorized Possession of Weapon, section 91(2) of the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm, section 92(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
  • Possession weapon contrary to prohibition, section 110 of the Criminal Code of Canada (From EMSCU Incident Report)
  • Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court, section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (x2)

  • Possession of anything for use in, production of/trafficking in Schedule I or Schedule III substance, section 7.1(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Inventory Act (Residence)
  • CDSA 4(1) Possess of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine, section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Inventory Act (Residence)

All accused’s are scheduled to appear in an Ontario Court of Justice located in London at a later date.

84 Year Old Charged Following Collision

(PERTH EAST, ON) – On Tuesday May 1, 2021 just after 02:00 p.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single vehicle collision on Perth Road 121 in the Township of Perth East. There were no injuries sustained in the collision.

Willard BUEHLER, 84, of Wahnapitae, was charged with:

  • Careless Driving

The driver was issued a Provincial Offences Notice.

Armed Robbery – 4 Arrested

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On May 15, 2021, at approximately 5:00 a.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an armed robbery at a residence on Sideroad 15 near Wellington Road 19, Centre Wellington Township.

Members of the Wellington County Crime Unit, Community Street Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Unit assisted with the investigation.

It was reported that three suspects entered the residence and confronted the occupants armed with a handgun. The suspects stole household items including electronics.

There were no reported injuries to the victims.

With the assistance of Collingwood OPP, the OPP Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit and Tactical and Rescue Unit, four suspects were arrested later the same day in a vehicle near the Town of Stayner.

Police executed search warrants resulting in the recovery of stolen property and weapons.

The following persons have been charged and were held for a bail hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph.

A 16-year-old youth from Fergus;

  • Robbery with a Weapon (2 counts)
  • Point Firearm (3 counts)
  • Utter Threats to Cause Bodily Harm or Death
  • Fail to Comply with Undertaking

Jayden BROWN, 22-years-old from Burlington;

  • Robbery with a Weapon
  • Point Firearm
  • Disguise with Intent
  • Fail to Comply with Undertaking

Christopher STEWART, 40-years-old from Barrie has been charged with Robbery with a Weapon.

Jaymar GAYLE, 27-years-old from Mississauga has been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crimes.

Maysen Mackenzie REDMOND Arrested Again

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – On May 9, 2021, at approximately 2:00 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic and conducting radar on Wellington Road 109 near the town of Arthur. The officer observed a motorcycle travelling westbound at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle’s speed was measured on radar in excess of 150 km/h.

Police spoke with the driver and discovered that they were subject to two driving prohibitions.

Maysen Mackenzie REDMOND, 24-years-old of Halton Hills, faces the following charges:

  • Operate Motor Vehicle While Prohibited (2 counts)
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order
  • Stunt Driving-Excessive Speed
  • Operate Motor Vehicle without Insurance

The accused’s vehicle was seized for a period of 45 days as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on June 11, 2021.

Tyler SMITH – Drive While Prohibited

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – One person is facing criminal charges after a traffic stop in North Perth on April 29, 2021 just after 11:00 p.m.

The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting general patrols in the area of Wallace Ave North in Listowel, when an officer observed a vehicle contravening the Highway Traffic Act. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was found to be prohibited from driving.  

Tyler SMITH, 27, of Huron-Kinloss, was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation While Prohibited Under the Criminal Code

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charge.

$5 Million “Drug” Bust

(ESSEX COUNTY, ON) – On May 12, 2021, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)-led Provincial Joint Force Cannabis Enforcement Team (PJFCET) executed Cannabis Act search warrants at two residences and one greenhouse location on Hodgins Street in Leamington.

PJFCET, members of the Essex County Detachment, OPP Essex County Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), along with members of the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) and the Provincial Asset Forfeiture Unit (PAFU), seized over 4200 cannabis plants, over 260 kilograms of processed cannabis, nearly 80 kilograms of marihuana shake and a large quantity of marihuana production equipment.

The total value of seized cannabis is estimated to be over $5.1 million dollars.

The following individuals are charged under the Cannabis Act (CA) with Possessing Cannabis for the Purpose of Selling, section 10(2) CA and Cultivate, Propagate or Harvest any cannabis plant at a place that is not their dwelling-house, section 12(6) (a) CA.

  • Hulqiao GAO, 50-years-old, of Markham, ON.
  • Angel Del-Toro MONTES, 28-years-old of Leamington, ON.
  • Xui Mei JIANG, 60-years-old of Aurora, ON.
  • Ruizhen LIN 62-years-old of Markham, ON.
  • Xin LIN, 58-years-old of North Grenville, ON.
  • Ruixue LIU, 46-years old of Leamington, ON.
  • Gerardo Rafel RAMOS, 48-years-old of Leamington, ON.
  • Carlos Alejandro TORRES-VALENZUELA, 36-years-old of Kingsville, ON.
  • Huiru YANG, 34-years-old of Leamington, ON.
  • Chun Rui ZHANG, 58-years-old of Leamington, ON.
  • Qiaofen ZHANG, 53-years-old of Leamington, ON.
  • Qin ZHANG, 59-years old of Leamington, ON.

The accused parties will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Leamington at a later date.

The investigation is ongoing.

The PJFCET is responsible for enforcing the cannabis laws and investigating criminal enterprises that exploit or abuse the legal cannabis market.
