Julian MUTCH Impaired Driving

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) On July 10, 2021 at approximately 10 a.m., Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) came across a vehicle that was stationary on the shoulder of Highway 6, in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula. 

A traffic stop was conducted, and during the course of the investigation a driver was arrested. The driver was transported to the Grey Bruce OPP detachment, where further tests were administered.

Grey Bruce OPP have charged Julian MUTCH, 34 years-of-age, from Wasaga Beach with the following offences:

  • Operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol and drugs, and
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused must attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on August 19, 2021.

Sarah FRECHETTE Facing Impaired Charge Following Collision

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) On July 10, 2021 at approximately 12:45 a.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to traffic complaint concerning a possible impaired driver on Sauble Falls Parkway, in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula. 

Officer arrived on scene and located a motor vehicle that had been involved in a motor vehicle collision. The driver was arrested and transported to the Grey Bruce OPP detachment, where further tests were administered.

Grey Bruce OPP have charged Sarah FRECHETTE, 44 years-of-age, from Clinton, Ontario with the following offences:

  • Operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcoho, and
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused must attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on August 12, 2021.

Jeffery HUNTER Facing Impaired Charge Following Hit & Run

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) On July 3, 2021 at approximately 1:30 p.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint concerning a possible impaired driver on Bannister Drive, in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula. 

Officer arrived on scene and located a motor vehicle that had been involved in a motor vehicle collision. The driver was arrested and transported to the Grey Bruce OPP detachment, where further tests were administered.

Grey Bruce OPP have charged Jeffery HUNTER, 54 years-of-age, from Sauble Beach, with the following offences:

  • Operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by drug, and
  • Dangerous operation, and
  • Fail to remain.  

The accused must attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on August 19, 2021.

Violent Home Invasion In Goderich – Child Assaulted

(GODERICH, ON) – A West Perth resident remains in custody following a domestic violence investigation conducted by members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment this past weekend.   

Just after 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 10, 2021 Huron County OPP officers responded to a residence in Goderich after the victim called police to report the accused had shown up at the victim’s home and had assaulted the victim and a child. Upon assaulting the victims the accused damaged some property belonging to the adult victim and then left the home. 

The accused then departed in an automobile and drove across the front boulevard and dangerously around the neighbourhood. Shortly thereafter the accused returned and broke into the home and proceeded to steal some cash.

After receiving some additional calls about the accused’s erratic driving police were able to locate the accused on Courthouse Square in Goderich. He was subsequently arrested and taken into custody. 

The accused, a 37-year-old from West Perth has been charged with the following offences:

·        Assault – 2 counts

·        Mischief Under $5,000 – 3 counts

·        Uttering Threats – 2 counts

·        Dangerous Operation

·        Theft Under $5,000

·        Break, Enter – Commit an Indictable Offence

The accused remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for July 14, 2021.

Public Safety Alert: Shawn Douglas ELLIOTT Wanted By Police – Do NOT Approach!

(HURON COUNTY, ON) – Members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment are seeking help from the public in locating an individual wanted for several offences that have taken place in Huron County. 

The OPP currently holds an arrest warrant for 45-year-old Shawn Douglas ELLIOTT of Huron County, Ontario for the following offences:

·        Sexual Assault – 3 Counts

·        Assault – 2 Counts

·        Sexual Assault With a Weapon

·        Assault With a Weapon

·        Break and Enter, Commit Indictable Offence

·        Mischief Under $5,000

·        Fail to Comply with Probation Order – 6 Counts

The accused is described as a white male about 5′ 8″, 180 pounds, medium build, with hazel eyes and is partially bald with grey hair on the sides. 

He is known to frequent the Blyth/Londesboro area.

4 Stolen Puppies Yet To Be Recovered

(LAKESHORE, ON) -On July 14, 2021, members of the Essex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit continue the investigation into the theft of dogs from an address on Lions Club Road in the Municipality of Lakeshore. 

The property was broken into sometime during the early morning hours of the 5th of June 2021 and seven beagles were stolen.

On July 13, 2021, a third dog was recovered in the City of Windsor.

Police continue to seek the public’s assistance in locating the four remaining beagles as there is still concern for their wellbeing. Information is that one of the female beagles was pregnant and should have given birth to a litter and there may be beagle puppies that are circulating as well.

4 Stunt Drivers Charged – Names Released

(GREY BRUCE, ON) On July 9, 2021 the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into multiple traffic related investigations after motorists were stopped for travelling in excess of posted speed limits, on roadways within Grey Bruce County. As a result of these investigations, the following individuals are facing stunt driving charges:

Masih GHARAVI, 40-years-old of North York, Ontario – stopped for travelling at over 160 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.

David JAJJO, 25-years-old of Woodbridge, Ontario – stopped for travelling at over 130 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.

Brooke ARGUETA, 25-years-old of Waterdown, Ontario – stopped for travelling at over 135 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone

Jeremy ASHTON, 30-years-old of Beaverton, Ontario – stopped for travelling at over 130 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone  

All accused have had their vehicles impounded for 14 days, and their drivers licence suspended for 7 days. All accused were issued a provincial summons to attend court in Owen Sound.

Hit & Run In Listowel

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are seeking witnesses after a fail to remain collision in a parking lot in the Municipality of North Perth between 4:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Friday July 9 2021.

On Monday July 12 2021, the Perth County OPP received a report of a minor collision that had occurred in the parking lot of a business on Mitchell Road South, Listowel. One adult was struck by the mirror of a vehicle while in the parking lot. The vehicle then left the scene. The victim received minor injuries as a result.

The suspect vehicle is described as a newer black Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) with tinted windows and licence plate cover. The vehicle was last observed travelling southbound.

14 Year Old From Stratford Sustains Serious Injuries In ATV Collision

(PERTH EAST, ON) – On Tuesday July 13 2021, just after 8:00 p.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Perth County Paramedic Services, and the Perth East Fire Department responded to a single vehicle collision involving an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) in the Township of Perth East.

It was determined that the driver, a 14-year-old resident of Stratford, was operating an ATV on Road 130 near Perth Line 36, when they lost control. As a result, the driver was ejected and sustained life-altering injuries. They were transported to a local hospital, and then taken to another regional trauma centre.

The road was closed for most of the night while the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team attended and assisted with the investigation.

The investigation is ongoing.

17 Year Old Facing Numerous Charges

(WEST PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a young person with a number of charges, following a traffic stop in the Municipality of West Perth last weekend.

On July 09 2021, just before 9:00 a.m., a Perth County OPP officer on general patrol stopped a vehicle for speeding on Perth Line 32.

The driver, a 17-year-old resident of Stratford, has been charged with:

–       Speeding 1-49km/h over posted limit

–       Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

–       Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

–       Drive motor vehicle – no licence

–       Fail to have insurance card

The accused was issued Provincial Offence Notices for the charges.

16 Year Old Drinking Driver Runs Red Light In Listowel

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a young driver in the Municipality of North Perth after a complaint from the public.

Just before 1:30 a.m. on July 11 2021, police received a report of a traffic complaint in the area of Mitchell Road South, Listowel. The vehicle was located and stopped on Kincaid Street, after driving through a red light. The driver had been drinking alcohol.

The driver, a 16-year-old resident of Perth East, has been charged with:

–       Red Light – Fail to Stop

–       Novice Driver – B.A.C. above zero

–       Novice driver fail to surrender licence

–       Class G1 licence holder – unaccompanied by qualifying driver

The accused was issued Provincial Offence Notices for the charges.

All drivers who are either under the age of 22, or Novice Drivers (regardless of age), may not consume any alcohol before driving, and must have a blood alcohol concentration (B.A.C.) of zero.

Pickup Truck With Keys In Ignition Stolen

(PERTH EAST, ON) – On July 11, 2021 shortly after 4:00 a.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a motor vehicle that had just been stolen.

Police attended a residence on Road 111 in the Township of Perth East, where an unknown person(s) took the unlocked vehicle from a rural farm property. The keys were left in the ignition at the time of the theft.

The stolen vehicle is described as a 2012 black GMC Sierra pick-up truck, with lift-kit, chrome wheels, no exhaust, a CanAm sticker in the back window, and a stainless steel tool box in the back.

The Perth County OPP would like to remind the public to report any suspicious activity immediately, and consider installing security features, such as increased lighting, cameras, or alarms. Ensure vehicles, sheds, garages, and doors are locked to prevent these crimes from happening.

Air Compressor Stolen From North Perth

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – On the evening of July 9, 2021, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break, enter and theft to a residence that had just occurred on Barnett Street, in the Municipality of North Perth. Unknown suspect(s) entered the garage and stole an air compressor.

The investigation is currently on-going at this time, and residents in the area are encouraged to check for surveillance footage between 6:00 pm and 10:00 pm on July 9.

Firearm & Threats In Listowel – Garrett ANJEMA Arrested

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – On June 30, 2021 just after 10:30 p.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an individual displaying a firearm and making threats in Listowel. An investigation was initiated by the Perth County Crime Unit.

Garrett ANJEMA, a 42-year-old resident of Listowel was arrested and charged with:

–       Pointing a Firearm

–       Possession of a Firearm for Dangerous Purpose

–       Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order

–       Uttering Threats- Cause Death or Bodily Harm

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.

This was an isolated incident and no injuries resulted.

3 Children Airlifted To Hospital Following Fire Pit Incident

(Municipality of Bayham, ON) – Elgin County OPP along with the OPP’s Forensic Identification Unit and the Office of the Fire Marshall is currently investigating a fire incident at an exterior fire pit of a residence, two adults and three children were injured with serious or life threatening injuries. The incident occurred on the 12th of July, 2021 at approximately 6:50pm at a Vienna Line, Municipality of Bayham residence.

Police, Bayham Fire and EMS all responded to the scene where EMS transported a 33 year old male and a 28 year old female to hospital with serious injuries. A seven year old female, a four year old male and a one year old female were also transported to hospital with life threatening injuries. All five people were related and residents of that address.

Police along with Office of the Fire Marshall remain on scene continuing to investigate.
