Dwayne HORAN – Drunk Driving

(ADJALA- TOSORONTIO, ON) – The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver involved in a single vehicle collision with impaired operation in Adjala-Tosorontio Township.

On April 13, 2025, shortly after 4:00 a.m., Nottawasaga OPP responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 89 and County Road 50. The driver called 911 to report that he had struck a traffic light pole and was unsure if he required a tow truck, no injuries were reported. 

At 4:16 a.m., officers arrived at the collision at which time the officer spoke with the lone male driver. The male stated he was driving eastbound into Alliston when he swerved around two deer that suddenly ran across the road.

The male was asked if he had any alcohol or drug use and he admitted to having some, hours prior at which time the officer issued an Approved Screening Device demand (ASD). Subsequently the driver provided a sample which resulted in a “Fail”. 

At 4:21 a.m., Dwayne HORAN, a 50-year-old male of Alliston was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

In addition to the charges, the driver was issued a 90-day license suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. 

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Bradford on May 8 2025, to answer to the charges.

Ethan WELLS – Impaired Driving

ADJALA-TOSORONTIO, ON) – The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one driver for driving while impaired in the Township of Adjala-Tosorontio.

On March 2, 2025, shortly after 9:30 p.m., Nottawasaga OPP responded to a single motor vehicle in the ditch on 20 Sideroad Tosorontio.

Upon arrival, officers located a single pickup truck facing eastbound with its passenger side tires in the ditch. During the investigation the officer began to suspect that the driver had been under the influence of alcohol and as a result, issued an Approved Screening Device demand (ASD). Subsequently the driver provided a sample which resulted in a “Fail”. 

At 10:00 p.m., the driver: Ethan WELLS 29- years-old, of Innisfil, was arrested and charge with:  

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

In addition to the charges, the driver was issued a 90-day license suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. 

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Bradford at a later date to answer to the charges.

Michael STRATTON – Drunk Driving

(ADJALA-TOSORONTIO, ON) – The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one driver for driving while impaired in Adjala-Tosorontio Township.

On February 14, 2025, shortly after 5:00 p.m., Nottawasaga OPP responded to a traffic complaint of a mini van swerving all over the road with inconsistent speeds.

An officer was able to locate the vehicle eastbound on Adjala-Tecumseth Townline and safely initiated a traffic stop. The officer issued an Approved Screening Device demand (ASD). Subsequently the driver provided a sample which resulted in a “Fail”. 

At 5:33 p.m., the driver: Michael STRATTON 43 years-old, of Tottenham, was arrested and charge with:  

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

In addition to the charges, the driver was issued a 90-day license suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. 

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Bradford on March 13, 2025, to answer to the charges.

Pasquale FONZO – Fraud, Theft, Etc.

(ADJALA-TOSORONTIO, ON) – As a result of an ongoing police investigation, members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), with the assistance of the Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) have arrested and charged an individual in connection to a fraud investigation.

On February 7, 2025 at approximately 3:34 p.m. Police were dispatched to a fraud incident located at the Ernie Dean Chevrolet Dealership in Adjala-Tosorontio Township. The complainant advised Police that there was an appointment set for February 10,2025 for a male to pickup a brand new 2025 GMC Sierra pick up truck purchased over the phone worth $110,000. The accused provided the dealership with insurance, a void cheque, and a driver licence. 

The accused told the dealership when making this purchase that he is the Vice Principal of a school located in Hamilton. The dealership began to have suspicions after they attempted to call the school to congratulate the buyer on his new pickup truck purchase and advise that it was available for pickup, however when speaking with the believed buyer, the dealership was informed that they did not purchase a new vehicle.

The dealership contacted the Nottawasaga OPP as it was believed that an unknown person was using the victims information to purchase a vehicle.

Upon further investigation it was determined that the unknown person also purchased a 2024 Cadillac Escalade and a 2024 Ford F-150 recently using the victims information.

On February 10, 2025, officers, knowing that the unknown person, posing as the victim, would be attending the Ernie Dean Chevrolet Dealership to pick up a vehicle purchased, attended to arrest and charge this unknown person.

At 2:22 p.m. officers attended the dealership and arrested Pasquale FONZO, a 39-year-old male of Ottawa.

FONZO was charged with:

  • Fraud Over $5000
  • Identity Theft – obtain or possess another persons identity information
  • Forgery- four Counts
  • Personation with Intent (Identity Fraud)

The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Salvatore GIULIANO Arrested Again

(ADJALA-TOSORONTIO, ON) – The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver for driving while prohibited in the Town of New Tecumseth.

On January 13, 2025, just before 1:00 p.m., a Nottawasaga OPP officer was conducting general patrols on County Road 50 in the Township of Adjala-Tosorontio, when the officer observed a male known to police as a prohibited driver under the Criminal Code operating a All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV)

The officer conducted a traffic stop and attempted to place the male under arrest at which time the individual fled on foot into a residence. The accused eventually came back outside and was not cooperative with officers. As of a result of the investigation,

Salvatore GIULIANO 42 years-old, of Palgrave, was charge with: 

• Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code

• Obstruct Peace Officer

• Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court

The accused was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Bradford on January 14, 2025, to answer to the charges.
