Leave Means Leave! 31 Year Old Arrested #StandYourGround

(HAVELOCK-BELMONT-METHUEN TOWNSHIP, ON)- The Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended an address on Blairton Road regarding an assault.

On Tuesday September 30,2025, prior to 8:00am, the Peterborough County OPP received a call from an individual stating that they had been in an altercation earlier that morning and as a result had been stabbed. The caller advised that they were currently wanted on outstanding charges and wished to turn themselves in.

Officers attended and spoke with the complainant who advised they had been staying with an individual on Blairton Road. The complainant had been asked to leave the residence but prior to being able to gather their belongings, an argument started. The complainant stated that at one point an edged weapon was brandished and they were stabbed. The complainant left the residence and walked to a place of safety.

Officers attended the address on Blairton Road and made effort to contact the accused. A large police presence remained in the area until a warrant was able to be executed on the residence. The accused was not located at the time and remains outstanding. A further warrant for their arrest has been issued. The complainant was arrested on their outstanding charges.

On Saturday October 4, 2025, shortly after midnight, officers attended and address on William Street in Havelock where they believed the wanted person to be. Officers made contact with an individual from the residence who stated the wanted person was prepared to surrender themselves to police. Shortly after, the male exited the residence and was arrested. 

Jason BODY (age 31) of Havelock, ON., was arrested and charged with;

• Assault with a weapon

• Assault causing bodily harm

• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

• Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm

The accused was held for Bail.

Missing Person Found Deceased

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Missing person from Thames Centre located deceased in Norfolk County.

On September 23, 2025, at 1:45 p.m., members of the Middlesex County OPP were dispatched to an address in Dorchester, Municipality of Thames Centre, for the report of a missing person.

It was determined a 55-year-old of Dorchester, was last seen on September 21, 2025.

The individual was located deceased in Waterford, Norfolk County.

Foul play is not suspected.

The Middlesex County OPP appreciated the assistance of the media and members of the public.

Mount Forest Assault #WaitInTheTruck

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Wellington County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person with multiple criminal offences following an intimate partner dispute.

On October 5, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m., members of the Wellington OPP responded to a disturbance at a residence in Mount Forest.

As a result of the investigation, 41-year-old from Mount Forest, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Assault – Spousal
  • Mischief – Domestic

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph at a later date.

The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victim(s).

22 Year Old Facing Drunk Driving Charge

(TAY VALLEY TWP, ON) – – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Drummond-North Elmsley resident with impaired driving.

Officers stopped two off road vehicles on Saturday, October 4, 2025, just before 9:30 p.m. on Christie Lake Road in Tay Valley Township.

During the investigation both ATVs fled the scene. The OPP Canine Unit located one of the drivers nearby and the investigation led officers to a residence where the second driver and passenger were located and arrested.

The driver was transported to the OPP Detachment in Perth for testing.

As a result of the investigation, Kolton PURDON, 22-years-old, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

·        Obstruct peace officer

·        Flight from a peace officer

·        Drive – no helmet

·        Drive non-passenger ATV with a passenger

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday, November 17, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Jagpreet Mann Was Arrested

(TILLSONBURG, ON) – An individual from the Tillsonburg is facing impaired driving related charges after police received a traffic complaint regarding a possible impaired driver.

On October 5, 2025, at approximately 2:30 p.m., the Oxford Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment were dispatched to a traffic complaint of a possible impaired driving, near Trillium Drive in the Town of Tillsonburg. Officers patrolled and subsequently located the vehicle.

Jagpreet Mann, 40-years-old, of Tillsonburg, has been charged with:  

·      Operation while Impaired – Alcohol

·      Operation while Impaired – Blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Dangerous Operation

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on November 25, 2025.

Listowel Theft – Do You Know This Suspect

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are requesting the public’s assistance with identifying one person of interest in connection with a theft that occurred in the Municipality of North Perth.

On October 3, 2025 the Perth County OPP launched an investigation into a theft that occurred overnight between October 2nd and 3rd in the area of Inkerman St W, Listowel.

The person of interest is described as:

  • Heavy set build
  • Dark hair
  • Black backpack
  • Boston Bruins sweater

Hwy 7 Assault – Ryan LEGAULT Arrested

(OTONABEE-SOUTH MONAGHAN TOWNSHIP, ON)- The Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested an individual after an assault took place outside a store.

On Friday October 3, 2025, the Peterborough County OPP received a call regarding an assault that had taken place in the parking lot of a store on Highway 7 in the Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan. The caller stated that one male approached the other after leaving the store and after a brief exchange of words, began striking the first male. The accused then left the area.

Officers attended the scene and spoke with the victim who had visible injuries. While speaking with the victim, the accused returned and approached police. The male was arrested.

Ryan LEGAULT (age 48) of Peterborough, ON., was arrested and charged with;

• Assault

The accused was released with a court date of November 4, 2025, to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough.

Murdered At Home, Who’s Next? #LockYourDoors #StandYourGround

(NORFOLK COUNTY) – Members from the Norfolk County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating a homicide in Simcoe.

On Sunday, October 5, 2025, shortly after 10:30 a.m., officers responded to a 9-1-1 call at a residence on Head Street South, where officers located a deceased individual.

The deceased has been identified as 71-year-old Barbara MORGAN of Simcoe. A postmortem examination will be conducted on Monday, October 6, 2025.

The Norfolk County OPP Crime Unit is continuing the investigation, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in collaboration with the Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service in Toronto. Assistance is also being provided by OPP Forensic Identification Services. The public can expect to see an increased police presence in the area. 

Preliminary information suggests this is an isolated incident, with no indication of a broader threat. However, police continue to investigate and are actively monitoring the situation. While there is no known risk to the wider community at this time, members of the public are encouraged to stay alert and report any suspicious activity to police as a precaution.

Charges Laid in Multi-Jurisdictional Theft Spree Across Southwestern Ontario

(GREY BRUCE, ON) – Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid multiple charges against a London resident following a multi-jurisdictional investigation into a series of thefts involving boats, seadoos, and trailers across southwestern Ontario.

One of the incidents now resolved as part of this investigation occurred on July 20, 2025, when two watercrafts were stolen from a commercial property in the Township of Georgian Bluffs. Between approximately 6:17 p.m. and 6:24 p.m., a silver SUV and a white pickup truck were observed entering the back lot of a property near Highway 6-21, gaining access through an adjacent lot. The SUV departed with a green 2022 Seadoo GTI personal watercraft, while the pickup truck left with a Zodiac centre console inflatable boat.

Another related occurrence took place on August 1, 2025, when Grey Bruce OPP received a report of a stolen trailer from a property located at a property on Highway 10 in the Municipality of Grey Highlands. The theft is believed to have occurred between the evening of July 31 and the morning of August 1. The trailer contained food and catering equipment.

A third incident occurred on July 24, 2025, near Grey Road 12 in Meaford. At approximately 2:11 p.m., a white Buick Enclave and a blue Ford F250 entered a property and removed a 20-foot Smoker Craft Phantom boat equipped with a 175hp Suzuki outboard motor. The boat was stored on a steel tandem trailer at the time of the theft. This occurrence was also linked to the accused during the investigation.

On October 1, 2025, members of the Grey Bruce and Middlesex Community Street Crime Units executed a search warrant at a residence on Sevilla Park Place in London, where an individual was taken into custody.

Michael LINA, 44-years-old, of London, Ontario, has been charged with the following 14 Criminal Code offences:

  1. Break and Enter (Perth County)
  2. Theft of Motor Vehicle (Perth County)
  3. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 (Perth County)
  4. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 (Chatham-Kent)

  6. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 (Chatham-Kent)
  7. Theft of Motor Vehicle (Grey Bruce)
  8. Theft of Motor Vehicle (Grey Bruce)
  9. Theft of Motor Vehicle (Grey Bruce)
  10. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 (Grey Bruce)
  11. Theft Over $5000 (Perth County)
  12. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 (Grey Bruce)

The accused was held for a bail hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound. Their next scheduled bail hearing is set for October 6, 2025.

Hwy 17 Fatal Collision

(MCKERROW, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a fatal collision on Highway 17 in McKerrow.

On Sunday, October 5, 2025, at approximately 3:20 p.m., members of the Manitoulin Detachment of the OPP responded to a serious single vehicle collision. Two individuals were pronounced deceased at the scene, and one individual was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionist attended the scene alongside emergency crews. Highway 17, between Jacklin Road and Sand Bay Road, was closed during the on-site investigation and has since reopened.

F.E. Madill Hold & Secure -One Arrested


(NORTH HURON TWP, ON) – 
The Huron Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating an incident that took place on Monday, October 06, 2025.   

On October 06, 2025, just before 9:00 a.m., police were contacted to investigate a threat made by a high school student toward another student.

A “hold and secure” of F.E. Madill Secondary School in Wingham was activated by school officials while staff and police searched the property for the suspect.

Investigators were able to locate the suspect who was arrested shortly after.

The “hold and secure” has since been lifted, and there is no threat to public safety.

Fatal ATV Collision

(CARDEN, ON) – Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal single-vehicle rollover involving an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV).  

On Sunday, October 5, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m., OPP officers, along with local fire services and Emergency Medical Services responded to reports of an ATV rollover on Lake Dalrymple Road in Carden Township. The incident involved one individual who was ejected from the vehicle. 

The driver of the ATV, a 44-year-old male from Carden, was pronounced deceased on scene. 

The investigation remains ongoing.

Double Fatal Crash on Highway 118 — Motorcycle and Transport Truck Collide

(HALIBURTON COUNTY, ON) – The Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a fatal collision on Highway 118 in Haliburton County, north of Carnarvon.

On Sunday, October 5, 2025, at approximately 11:40 a.m., members of the Haliburton Highlands OPP Detachment responded to a serious collision involving a motorcycle and a transport truck. The impact caused the truck to catch fire, which was extinguished by fire services at the scene. The driver and passenger of the motorcycle, a 64-year-old female and a 79-year-old male, were pronounced deceased at the scene.

The OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team is assisting with the ongoing investigation and Highway 118, east of Carnarvon, is currently closed between Tulip Road and the 25th Line. The public is advised to avoid the area and plan alternate routes as the closure is expected to be lengthy.

Pamela Wetelainen Was Arrested

On October 3, 2025, at approximately 7:30 pm, members of the Dryden Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 East near Dinorwic, in Southworth Township.

As a result of the investigation, the driver was arrested for impaired operation by drug. Pamela Wetelainen, 61, of Wabigoon First Nation, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

The OPP reminds all motorists that driving while impaired by drugs or alcohol is a serious offence that poses significant risks to everyone on the road. OPP K9 Injured, Suspect Wounded Following Shootout — SIU Takes Over

(TEMISKAMING DISTRICT, ON) – The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has invoked its mandate following an incident in the Temagami North and Latchford area.

On Friday, October 3, 2025, members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to reports of an armed and dangerous individual at large in the area. An emergency alert and shelter in place order were issued, while a large-scale search took place involving local OPP members and multiple specialty units, including the Tactics and Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Team, Canine Units and OPP Aviation.

On Sunday, October 5, 2025, officers located the wanted male and officers exchanged gunfire with the individual. The male was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. An OPP Canine was treated for a minor injury.
