Hwy 21 Collision – Tractor Vs SUV

(GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – On May 20, 2020 at 8:18 p.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision involving a (red) farm tractor towing a farm implement and a (grey) Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) at Highway 21 east of Jackson, Georgian Bluffs.

Officers arrived to find the SUV with extensive damage in the middle of the highway. Four involved persons from the collision were transported by ambulance to hospital and treated for minor injuries. During the investigation it was learned that both vehicles were westbound on the highway and the 42 year old driver of the SUV rear ended the farm tractor, operated by a 52 year old.

Grey Bruce OPP continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision. No charges have been laid at this time.

David ERNEST – Theft X2

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have made an arrest in two thefts of alcohol from a local business.

At approximately 2:30 p.m. on May 17 2020, police were called by a local business to the area of Mitchell Road South, in Listowel, after a suspect stole a bottle of alcohol and left on foot. Police located the male on Main Street West, where he was arrested for the theft. Police had already been investigating this same suspect, since video surveillance showed the suspect stealing another bottle of alcohol from the same business on May 12 2020.

As a result, David ERNEST, 28, of North Perth, has been charged with:

Theft Under $5000 (two counts)

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

Jason BULMER Wanted On Canada Wide Warrant Arrested In Perth East

(PERTH EAST, ON) – Shortly before 11:00 a.m. on May 16 2020, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to the area of Line 37 and Perth Road 111 for a report of a suspicious person.

When police arrived on scene, the suspect gave a false name. Through the investigation, officers were able to determine the identity of the person, and found that there was a Canada wide warrant for their arrest.

As a result, Jason BULMER, 35, of no fixed address, has been charged with:

Obstruct Peace Officer, contrary to the Criminal Code

Fail to leave premises when directed, Contrary to the Trespass to Property Act

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

Gas Station Robbery And Break And Enter – Peter Junior MEARS Arrested

(NORTHERN BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – On May 16, 2020 at 5:45 a.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a robbery at a gas station in Ferndale, at Highway 6 in Northern Bruce Peninsula.

A person attended the business when it was opening for the day and assaulted an employee and attempted to gain entry to the business. The suspect was gone from the scene when officers arrived.

A short time later, OPP officers received a call for a break and enter in progress at a residence at Highway 6 near Miller Lake. A person, matching the suspect’s description from the robbery, was arrested by officers at the scene of the break and enter.

Grey Bruce OPP have charged Peter Junior MEARS, a 29 year old from Northern Bruce Peninsula with the following offences,

Robbery with violence, section 343(a) Criminal Code of Canada (CC)

Break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence, section 348(1)(a) CC

Operation of motor vehicle while impaired – alcohol and drugs, section 320.14(1)(a) CC

The accused was held for a bail hearing in Ontario Court of Justice on May 17, 2020.

Mischief In Listowel – David ERNEST Arrested

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – A North Perth resident is facing a mischief charge after an incident on Queen Street in Listowel.

Shortly after 2:30 p.m. on May 15 2020, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to assist after an altercation in a parking lot at an apartment building on Queen Street in Listowel. One person was inside a vehicle, and another had struck the vehicle with a piece of wood, causing damage to the windshield, side window, and headlight.

As a result, David ERNEST, 28, of North Perth, has been arrested and charged with:

Mischief – Destroys or Damages Property

David KUNZLE Arrested Again – Methamphetamine, Breach, Drive While Prohibited

(WEST PERTH, ON) – A South Huron resident is facing numerous charges after being caught driving while prohibited in West Perth.

Around 6:00 p.m. on May 9 2020, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received information that a prohibited driver was operating a motorcycle on Line 21, in the Municipality of West Perth. Police were able to locate the driver shortly after, and the suspect fled on foot. The suspect was arrested a short distance away, and was found to be in possession of methamphetamine.

As a result, David KUNZLE, 21, of South Huron, has been charged with:

Operation while Prohibited by the Criminal Code (six counts)

Fail to Comply with Probation Order (three counts)

Possession of Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine

Operate Motor Vehicle without Insurance

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

Prohibited Driver Caught Again – Jordan David HUNT

(TOWNSHIP OF MAPLETON, ON) – On May 14, 2020, at approximately 8:45 a.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) member investigated the driver of a pick-up truck on Wellington Road 17 west of Highway 6 in Mapleton Township. The driver was found to be prohibited from operating a motor vehicle due to previous convictions and was placed under arrest.

Jordan David HUNT, 28-years-old of Wellington North Township has been charged with Operation While Prohibited X3 contrary to the Criminal Code and Drive While Under Suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on July 28, 2020.

Their vehicle was seized for a period of 45 days as per statute.

26 Year Old Caught Going 145 in an 80

(TOWNSHIP OF MAPLETON, ON) – On May 14, 2020, at approximately 6:30 a.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic and conducting radar on Wellington Road 7. The officer observed a motor vehicle travelling southbound at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 145 km/h.

Tye Wayne PITMAN, 26-years-old of Clifford has been charged with Racing a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in Guelph at the Ontario Court of Justice – Provincial Offences Court in July, 2020. Their vehicle and driver’s licence were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

Suspended Driver With Cocaine Facing Impaired Charge – Donald FERGUSON

(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) – A traffic stop early this morning near Amberley has resulted in Impaired Operation charges and then some for a Kincardine resident.

Just before 1:00 a.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a pickup truck that was travelling southbound on Bluewater Veteran’s Highway (Highway 21) from Amberley. Upon stopping the vehicle the investigating officer recognized the driver and was aware that he was driving with a suspended driver’s licence. As such the driver was placed under arrest for driving while under suspension.

Additionally, the investigating officer noted the driver was displaying signs of impairment thus a Standard Field Sobriety Test (SFST) was conducted. The driver performed poorly and was arrested for Impaired Operation. A search incident to arrest revealed the driver to be in possession of a quantity of suspected cocaine.

The accused was transported to the Sebringville OPP Detachment for subsequent testing conducted by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE). Ultimately it was deemed the driver was indeed impaired by a drug.

Donald FERGUSON, 51 years of age from Kincardine has been charged with Impaired Operation, Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine and Drive While Under Suspension. He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for July 13, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Repeat Offender With Methamphetamine Arrested In Listowel – MORRIS

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid a drug charge after a bicycle was stopped in Listowel.

A police officer conducting patrols in Listowel located a person riding a bicycle without a light on Argyle Avenue North, just after 9:00 p.m. on May 8 2020. During the investigation, it was revealed that the operator of the bicycle had an outstanding warrant for their arrest. They were placed under arrest, and a search revealed that they were in possession of methamphetamine.

As a result, Josey-Ann MORRIS, 37 of North Perth, has been charged with:

Possession of a Schedule I substance – Methamphetamine

Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

Do You Recognize This Theft Suspect?

(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH-ERAMOSA, ON) – On May 19, 2020 the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a theft occurrence at a business on AlmaStreet in Rockwood.

Investigation revealed that at approximately 10:30 a.m. the suspect entered the business posing as a customer and entered the office area and stole a black IPhone and approximately $1000 in cash from an unlocked safe.

Surveillance footage captured the theft.

The suspect was last seen fleeing in a Red Mazda 3 Hatchback travelling eastbound on Highway 7.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, mid-late 20’s, approximately 6 feet in height, slim build, hair shaved on the side and wearing a black and white hoodie.

Stolen Property Recovered – Repeat Offender Arrested – KOSTAL

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – On May 19, 2020 the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged an individual involved in an April 11, 2020 break and enter that occurred in Southgate Township. Information was received that the break and enter suspect was attempting to sell the stolen property including a cross-bow in the Town of Mount Forest.

As a result, Gordon William KOSTAL, 38-years-old of Wellington North Township has been charged with Possession of a Property Obtained by Under $5000 X2, Trafficking in Stolen Goods Under $5000, Failure to Comply with Release Order and Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code.

The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Police have recovered some of the stolen property, however, some of the items including firearms remain outstanding.

29 Year Old From North Huron Arrested In Clinton – Mellisa BELL

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a North Huron resident with Impaired Operation and Driving with a Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) Over 80 following a traffic stop that took place early this morning.

At approximately 12:38 a.m. on May 20, 2020 Huron OPP officers were patrolling in Clinton when they came across a vehicle with an expired licence plate sticker on Princess Street.

Officers followed the vehicle and a traffic stop was conducted. While speaking with the driver officers noted the driver to be displaying signs that she was impaired by alcohol. As a result the driver was placed under arrest for Impaired Operation. Soon after she was transported to the Exeter OPP Detachment for breath tests. Two samples of her breath were provided to the intoxilizer technician and both samples were analyzed to be over the legal limit.

Mellisa BELL, 29 years of age, from North Huron has been charged with Operation While Impaired & Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus. The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for August 10, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich. Her motor vehicle was impounded and her driver’s licence has been suspended for an automatic 90 days.

Prohibited Driver Caught Again – Shane CLARKE

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – A 47-year-old from Exeter is facing charges after he was caught going out for a drive this past weekend when he shouldn’t have been.

At approximately 7:10 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2020 a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed the accused operating a sport utility vehicle on Edward Street in Exeter. The officer had knowledge the accused was prohibited from driving so a traffic stop was initiated.

Upon checking on the licence status of the driver it was learned the accused was currently serving five criminal code driving suspensions as well as a provincial suspension. Further investigation revealed the accused was operating the vehicle with licence plates not authorized for the vehicle and without insurance.

Shane CLARKE, 47 years of age from Exeter has been charged with Operation While Prohibited (five counts), Driving While Under Suspension, Use Plates Not Authorized for Vehicle and Operate a Motor Vehicle on a Highway – No Insurance.

He has a court date scheduled for August 20, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Exeter.

Josephine Street Collision Ends With Assault Charge

(NORTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid criminal charges against a North Huron resident following a domestic assault investigation that took place over the weekend.

Just before 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2020 Huron OPP officers responded to an automobile crash located on Josephine Street in Wingham. The subsequent investigation revealed a domestic assault occurred, as well, it also revealed the accused was operating his vehicle in a dangerous manner.

A 36-year-old North Huron resident has been charged with Assault & Dangerous Operation. The accused has since been released from custody with a court date scheduled for later this summer.
