70 Year Old Arrested For Drunk Driving Tractor

(WALKERTON, ON) – On October 12, 2022, at 11:52 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a tractor being operated by a suspected impaired driver along Durham Street east in Walkerton. Officers located the tractor and found that the driver had been drinking alcohol.

Roger KENNEDY, 70-years-old, from the Municipality of Brockton was charged with Impaired Driving and Operate over 80 milligrams. The accused will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton to answer to the charges.

This charge includes an immediate 90-day driver’s license suspension and an immediate 7-day vehicle impoundment.

Catherine CORR Arrested Again – Passed Out Behind Wheel, Drugs, Etc. Etc.

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – A 33-year-old female and 53-year-old male, both from North Huron are facing several criminal charges following a report of a suspicious vehicle that was reported to police earlier this week.

On Monday, October 17, 2022 at approximately 08:30 a.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers received a report of a suspicious vehicle that was parked in the Exeter Tim Horton’s parking lot. 

Officers arrived minutes later and located a Dodge Caliber automobile with two occupants inside. Officers attempted to speak to the occupants, but both were initially unresponsive. The female driver and male passenger were eventually woken and identified. Evidence of drug use was observed inside the vehicle. The investigating officer noticed signs that the driver was under the influence of a drug. As a result, the driver was placed under arrest for Operation while Impaired. Subsequent to the arrest, a search of the driver revealed a quantity of suspected fentanyl.

The male passenger was also arrested on the strength of two outstanding warrants. After searching the passenger, a quantity of suspected fentanyl was also found on his person.

Officers conducted a check on the vehicle and determined it had been stolen the day previous. Both suspects were transported to the Huron O.P.P. detachment in Clinton where they were processed and held for a bail hearing.

33-year-old Catherine CORR from North Huron has been charged with the following offences:

Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid, and Fail to Comply with Probation Order x 2 counts.

53-year-old Robin Wellstead from North Huron has been charged with the following offences:

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, and Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid.

Another Pedestrian Struck In Hit & Run

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are seeking the public’s assistance in a recent fail to remain collision involving a pedestrian. 

On October 14, 2022 at approximately 11:39 p.m. Huron County OPP and Huron County Paramedic Services responded to Huron Road (Highway 8) just west of Erie Street North in Clinton to assist a pedestrian that had been struck by a vehicle. 

Upon arrival first responders located an injured pedestrian, a 67-year-old male. He was transported to hospital and was later released with minor injuries.

The driver of the involved vehicle failed to remain at the collision scene. 

Police believe the suspect vehicle may be a grey Toyota Sienna minivan with a missing passenger side mirror. 

Investigators are asking the driver/owner of this suspect vehicle to contact police as soon as possible.

Officer Missing – OPP Seek Public Assistance

(BLUEWATER, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are seeking the public’s assistance in a recent theft investigation.

Constable “Wes Coast”, a decoy officer owned by the Coalition for Huron Injury Prevention (CHIP) was stolen sometime over the Labour Day weekend from the intersection of King Street and Albert Street in Hensall.

The life-size, two-dimensional aluminum cut-out of a police officer holding a speed enforcement device had been cable locked to a concrete light standard at the time of the theft. 

This creative tool had been utilized to help keep communities safer by reminding motorists to watch their speed in towns and villages throughout Huron County.

Thieves Cut Holes In Fence

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – On October 18, 2022, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police investigated a break and enter at a Road 123, North Perth address.

Unknown person(s) attended the address and cut holes in a metal link fence and gained entry to the business. Once inside, unknown(s) removed several items.  

Police are continuing to investigate and ask the public to report suspicious activity immediately, and remember to lock doors to vehicles, houses, garages, and sheds. Do not leave keys with vehicles, including ATVs. Consider installing security features, such as increased lighting, cameras, or alarms.

Another NFA Arrested (No Fixed Address)

(WEST PERTH, ON) – A male of no fixed address is facing several criminal charges following a traffic complaint that took place yesterday in the Municipality of West Perth.

On October 18, 2022, at approximately 4:19 p.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers received information about a possible impaired driver that was operating a vehicle swerving from ditch to ditch with varying speeds on Road 164 in West Perth.

Officers located the vehicle on the shoulder of Perth Line 55 in the Municipality of North Perth and conducted a traffic stop. The vehicle that was being driven was reported stolen. The driver was slumped over the steering wheel.

Subsequently, the driver was arrested and transported to a local operations centre for a Drug Recognition Evaluation.   

As a result, Robert CHARBONEAU, 45, of no fixed address, has been charged with:

–      Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

–      Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid (other than heroin)

–      Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs

–      Operation while Prohibited – Legal Restriction from any other Act of Parliament or Provincial Law

–      Failure to comply with undertaking

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused remains in custody pending a bail hearing.

40 Year Old Repeat Offender Arrested Again

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – On October 16, 2022, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a disturbance at a Wallace Avenue North business in Listowel.

As a result, Ryanal ERB, a 40-year-old of No fixed address, has been charged with:

–      Uttering Threats- Cause death or Bodily Harm

–      Assault with a Weapon

–      Fail to comply with Probation Order (3 counts)

–      Causing a Disturbance

The accused was arrested and held for Bail.

Central Huron Resident Arrested

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – A Central Huron resident is facing several criminal charges following a traffic complaint that took place yesterday south of Goderich.

At approximately 8:38 p.m. on October 16, 2022, Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers received information about a possible impaired driver that was operating a vehicle in an erratic manner southbound on Bluewater Veteran’s Highway from Goderich. Officers responded to a residence located on Rowcliffe Drive where they located the suspect vehicle. Upon speaking with a witness, officers located the suspect driver and upon speaking with the driver they noted several signs of impairment.

The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. The driver provided two samples of breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both samples were found to be above the legal limit. 

Christopher HOLT, 43 years of age, from Central Huron has been charged with: Operation While Impaired, Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus) and Dangerous Operation. 

The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for November 28, 2022, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

23 Year Old From Milverton Arrested

(PERTH EAST, ON) – On October 15, 2022, just after 11:00 p.m., officers from the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Perth Road 131 in the Township of Perth East.

When the officer approached the vehicle, they observed a lone male standing near the vehicle. Upon speaking with the driver, it became apparent the driver had consumed alcohol and was displaying signs of impairment. A roadside screening device was administered, and the driver was subsequently arrested and transported to a local operations center for further testing.

Cornelius GIESBRECHT, 23-year-old of Milverton, has been charged with:

–      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charge.

Seaforth Resident Arrested At RIDE

(WEST PERTH, ON) – On October 14, 2022, at approximately 10:41 p.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) checkpoint on Perth Line 20 in the Municipality of West Perth. 

Upon speaking with a driver who entered the checkpoint, it became apparent the driver had consumed an alcoholic beverage, at which time a roadside screening device was administered. The driver was arrested for impaired operation and transported to a local operations center for further testing.

Rodney SCOTT, a 27-year-old resident of Seaforth has been charged with the following:

–      Operation while impaired – blood concentration (80 plus)

–      Novice Driver – B.A.C. above zero

–      Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charge. The accused was served two Provincial Notices for the other two charges.

17 Year Old Charged Following Collision

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – On October 14, 2022, at approximately 4:40 p.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Perth County Paramedic Services responded to a collision on Road 164 and Line 81 in the Municipality of North Perth. Both drivers were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

A 17-year-old resident of Listowel, has been charged with:

–      Turn- not in safety

The accused was issued a Provincial Notice for the offence.

Fatal Collision Update – Deceased Identified

(CHATSWORTH, ON) – On October 11, 2022,  just after 7:15 p.m., The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police responded to the scene of a fatal motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle on highway 6 in the Township of Chatsworth.

Life saving efforts were performed, but the driver of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased. They have been identified as Steven RILL, 32 years-of-age, from the Township of West Grey.

The Grey Bruce OPP is continuing to investigate this collision with the assistance of the West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team (TIME).

Stolen Vehicle Recovered – ALLARD & FOX Arrested

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) The South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid several criminal charges and recovered stolen property following a motor vehicle collision on Bruce Road 40 this morning.

On October 15, 2022, at 10:28 a.m., officers from the South Bruce OPP were called to a single car motor vehicle collision on Bruce Road 40 in the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.

Police arrived on scene and were informed by members of the public that both occupants of the motor vehicle had fled the scene. The motor vehicle had previously been reported stolen.

The OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine Unit, alongside the South Bruce OPP and Grey Bruce OPP commenced a search and by 2:16 p.m. this afternoon, both individuals were taken into police custody.

The South Bruce OPP have charged Paige ALLARD, 32 years-of-age from Hanover with the following offences:

·        Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000

·        Identity theft – obtain or possess another person’s identity information

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton at a later date.

The South Bruce OPP have also charged Ryan FOX, 29 years-of-age, from Arran-Elderslie with the following offences:

·        Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

·        Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code

·        Theft over $5,000

The accused remains in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton.

Jared CALDWELL – Drunk Driving

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – A resident of Goderich is now facing several criminal and provincial act offences following a crash investigation that occurred this past weekend. 

On Friday, October 7, 2022 at approximately 1:42 a.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision located at the intersection of Huron Road (Highway 8) and Orchard Line.

Upon arrival officers located an unoccupied vehicle off the roadway in the steep ditch. Officers immediately started searching the area and shortly thereafter they located a passenger near the scene. Upon further investigation officers then located the driver at a residence in Goderich.

Upon speaking with the driver officers noted the driver was displaying signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and was subsequently transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for further testing.

Two samples of breath were provided to the Intoxilizer Technician and both tests were found to be above the legal limit.

Jared CALDWELL, 29 years of age, from Goderich has been charged with the following criminal offences: Operation While Impaired, Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 Plus and Public Mischief. 

The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for November 14, 2022 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Child Sexually Assaulted – 27 Year Old From Listowel Arrested

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges in relation to a sexual assault on a youth that occurred in the Municipality of North Perth. 

On October 12, 2022, just before 9:00 p.m., police responded to a residence in North Perth for a report of a sexual assault.

The victim was located and transported to an out-of-town hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  

Investigation determined that the accused met the victim online after using a fake identify. 

As a result, a 27-year-old of Listowel was arrested and charged with:

– Assault Cause Bodily Harm – Choke, suffocate or strangle

– Sexual Assault on a Person Under 16 years of age

– Sexual Interference

– Forcible Confinement

– Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
