Cocaine Bust – Melissa McCLEMENT & Matthew O’BRIEN

(BLUEWATER, ON) – An investigation conducted by officers from the Huron-Perth Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU) resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs, a vehicle, and offence-related property. Two Bluewater residents have been charged.

An investigation initiated by members of the Huron-Perth OPP CSCU led investigators to an address in the Municipality of Bluewater. Officers from the Huron County OPP detachment assisted with the investigation.

On Tuesday, November 25th, 2025, OPP officers conducted a traffic stop in the Municipality of Huron East which resulted in the arrest of two individuals, and the seizure of a quantity of suspected cocaine, Canadian currency, offence-related property, and vehicle they were driving.

On Wednesday, November 26th, 2025, a search warrant was executed on MacTavesh Street in the village of Bayfield, which resulted in the seizure of additional offence-related property and Canadian currency.

The total value of the illegal drugs seized is over $5000.

Offence-related property including weigh scales, a cellular phone, Canadian currency, and a 2025 model vehicle seized by police totalled $51,900.

Melissa McCLEMENT, 39 years-of-age from Bluewater has been charged with:

  • Possession of Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court date scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on January 19th, 2026.

Matthew O’BRIEN, 44 years-of-age from Bluewater has been charged with:

  • Possession of Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine.
