5 More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(LAMBTON COUNTY, ON) – The Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged five drivers over the course of the holiday weekend with impaired driving.

On August 29, 2025, shortly after 2:00 a.m., members of the Lambton OPP were requested to attend Blue Water Bridge, Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), regarding a possible impaired driver. 

As a result, Philip MCKENNA, 39-year-old of Michigan, United States of America, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on September 17, 2025.

On August 29, 2025, at approximately 11:57 p.m., members of the Lambton OPP initiated a traffic stop on London Road, near Lambton Mall Road, Sarnia.

As a result, Rayne GRILLY, 23-year-old of Warwick Township, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on October 6, 2025.

On August 30, 2025, just before 5:30 p.m., members of the Lambton OPP responded to a traffic complaint involving a possible impaired driver. A traffic stop was initiated on Petrolia Line, near Oozloffsky Street in Petrolia.

As a result, Ian GRANVILLE, 54-year-old of Petrolia, has been charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·      Failure or refusal to comply with demand

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on September 29, 2025.

On August 30, 2025, shortly after 10:15 p.m., members of the Lambton OPP conducted a traffic stop on Ontario Street in Grand Bend, Lambton Shores.

As a result, Paul ZOMBRE, 45-year-old of Brampton, has been charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on October 2, 2025.

On August 31, 2025, at approximately 6:45 p.m., members of the Walpole Island Police Service and Lambton OPP, responded to a traffic complaint regarding a possible impaired driver on Chiefs Road South, Walpole Island First Nation. Police located the driver and vehicle and subsequently initiated a traffic stop.

As a result, Christopher SONEY, 36-year-old of Walpole Island First Nation, has been charged under the Criminal Code, the Highway Traffic Act, and the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act with the following offences:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Use plate not authorized for vehicle

·      Class G licence holder – unaccompanied by qualified driver

·      Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero

·      Fail to apply for permit on becoming owner

·      Operate motor vehicle without insurance

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia, on October 2, 2025.

All the accused in these matters were issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and a 7-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
