SIMPSON & TAYLOR – Impaired Driving

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – Two people have been charged in connection with separate impaired driving incidents.

On Friday, August 22, 2025, at approximately 11:58 p.m., the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a 9-1-1 report of a suspected impaired driver on James Street in Delhi.

Officers later located the vehicle on Highway 59 in Delhi, where a roadside sobriety test was conducted. The driver was subsequently taken into custody without incident.

As a result, 39-year-old Leland SIMPSON of Oxford County was charged with the following alleged offence:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.

On Saturday, August 23, 2025, at approximately 1:39 a.m., the Norfolk County OPP responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision involving a sport utility vehicle on Radical Road near Port Dover. No injuries were reported.

Officers attended the scene and, after conducting a roadside sobriety test, took the driver into custody without incident.

As a result, 23-year-old Emma TAYLOR of Norfolk County was charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs,
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.
