(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a Brampton resident with impaired driving following a call for service regarding a suspicious vehicle.
On August 18, 2025, shortly after 9:30 p.m., officers from the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle. A short time later, the vehicle was located following a motor vehicle collision on Main Street in the Town of Shelburne. While speaking with the male driver, officers observed signs of impairment and initiated an impaired driving investigation.
Sterlyn PALMER, a 55-year-old male, from Brampton has been charged with:
• Failure or refusal to comply with demand
• Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licence was suspended, and their vehicle impounded.
