(WEST NIPISSING, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged a driver after investigating a motor vehicle collision.
On Friday August 1, 2025, at approximately 9:40 p.m., members from the Nipissing West Detachment of the OPP responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Mary Street, West Nipissing. No injuries were reported with the driver.
The driver of the vehicle failed to comply with the breath demand and was arrested.
As a result of the investigation, Nicolas WIESNER, 41 years-of-age, from West Nipissing, was charged with, failure or refusal to comply with demand
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday October 2, 2025, in North Bay.
The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The OPP would like to remind the public that if you fail or refuse to provide a breath sample or comply with a lawful demand from police, you face the same penalties as if you were charged with impaired driving:
- Criminal charges
- Immediate licence suspension
- Vehicle impoundment
- Fines and possible jail time
